Addictive(29)
Author: Lola Finn

I can feel his gaze still on me now, and my nipples harden at the thought.

“So?” My father asks, and I startle, bringing my attention back to him.

“I’m sorry?” I ask, and he grins, knowing I wasn’t paying attention.

But I’m sure he thinks I was daydreaming about some hot guy back at boarding school, and not drooling over his sexy as sin best friend.

“I said, how did everything go with the resort today? Everything coming along, so we’ll be ready for guests in a few days?”

“Yes,” I answer, trying to push thoughts of Drew from my mind, but with him just a few feet away and his spicy, masculine scent invading my nostrils, it’s really fucking hard. “Everything is right on schedule.”

“Great, there’s something I need to talk to you about.”

“All right,” I say, uncrossing and recrossing my legs.

I know it makes my shorts ride higher on my thighs, and I hope Drew notices. From the subtle shift he makes in his seat, lifting his hips slightly, I think I accomplished my goal.

God, what I wouldn’t do to just climb right on his—

“Drew will be staying at the resort for the summer.”

My blood heats up, and my panties grow damp immediately.

I’ve been waiting for a chance, and this is it. This summer is my chance to finally have Drew fucking Harrington.

I’m eighteen now, and though he’s never made a move, I can feel the air crackle around us when we’re close, and I know he can too. It can’t just be me, not when everything sizzles between us.

“That’s great,” I say, turning to Drew to look him in the eye. I tip my head to the side with an innocent smile. “Will you be staying here with us?”

“Unfortunately not,” Daddy answers for him, and Drew nods to confirm. “With the construction and everything else going on, he’ll be staying in the Emerald Suites.”

Great, another reason for me to hate these stupid renovations. With everything Daddy has planned, it should take at least another six weeks before they finish. They just moved from the entryway to the three guest rooms upstairs, transforming them into a massive master suite for Daddy and his fiancée, Sidney.

“You’ll be here all summer?” I ask, wanting to be clear.

Twelve weeks with Drew a thousand yards or so away sounds like a dream come true. The thought of sneaking around, losing my virginity to him, and spending the rest of the summer fucking him sends another rush of fluid to my panties, my core throbbing already.

I rock my hips in my seat a little, hoping it’s not noticeable to anyone. But Drew shifts again, his eyes on the bare skin of thighs.

When it comes down to it, I’m nervous about my first time. I know what I want, though, and that’s Drew. Knowing he’s experienced and would treat me just right only makes me hotter for him.

Drew tears his eyes from my legs. “I’m just down for the day, but I’ll be coming back next week and staying until the wedding.”

“Oh, wow!” I say, trying to hide my excitement.

The last event of the season is Daddy and Sidney’s wedding, so I’ll get him the entire time.

 Twelve. Whole. Weeks.

 “Yeah, I just needed a break…away for a bit.”

I know what he’s referring to, and I feel a rush of anger at his soon to be ex-wife for hurting him. How anyone would let such a perfect specimen of man go is beyond me. But her loss is my gain.

 Or soon to be mine.

“Well, that’s nice. I hope you have a great summer here,” I say, keeping up my expected level of politeness. My parents didn’t send me to boarding school for twelve years for me to be as brash and straight forward as I want to be right now.

How lovely. You’ll be spending the summer inside of me. I can’t wait to finally see the cock behind that massive bulge I’ve been fantasizing about for years now.

“So, we’ll need your help,” Daddy says, pausing again for my answer.

 Fuck, I spaced out. Again.

 I swallow. “My help?”

He chuckles, shaking his head. “With planning the event for Drew’s company.”

 “Oh! All right, perfect.”

And it is perfect. A reason for me to have to interact with him often is just what I need. Private meetings in my office to hammer out the details, late-night texts over last-second decisions...

“Great,” Drew says, giving me a smile that makes my stomach flip.

“Why don’t you two set up a meeting for next week when Drew gets settled in so you can sort everything out?”

“Sounds good,” I say. “You’ll let me know when you get all checked in?”

He nods, keeping eye contact with me. “I sure will.”

 “Wonderful.”

I stand and go around my father’s desk to tell him goodnight. I keep my eyes locked on Drew’s the entire time, and he stares right back except for the ten seconds he spends checking out my ass as I bend over to hug Daddy. I resist the urge to arch my back to put on more of a show for him, trying to remind myself where we are.

Drew coughs, looking away quickly and then down to his phone, which he’s using to cover his crotch.

“Goodnight, Drew,” I purr on my way past him.

 “Night, Kennedy.”

I swear his voice has dropped an octave or two lower than it was earlier, his gaze darker.

Do I really affect him the way he affects me? I intend to find out, and I’ve got all summer to do just that. Not that I expect it to take the entire twelve weeks.

 “Kennedy.”

I’ve just reached the bottom of the stairway, and I spin to see Drew coming around one of the columns in the entryway. The way he strides across the black marble toward me makes me think he might scoop me up in his arms and ravage me right here on the stairs.

Unfortunately, he slows, stopping a respectable distance away from me. His hands are tucked in the pockets of his slacks, and he brings one out, holding his phone.

“I realized I don’t have your number...for when I get all settled into my suite.”

I look at him almost confused until I remember he’s right—he doesn’t have my number. But I’ve had his since I stole it out of my dad’s phone when I was fifteen, but I’ve never used it.

“Here,” I say, holding out my hand.

Drew takes a smooth step forward as he places his phone in my palm, his scent surrounding me again. “I’m surprised we haven’t exchanged them before this,” he growls.

I tap in my number and save myself in his contacts. When I look up again, he’s watching me, and I feel the heat building between us like it always does during these little stolen moments. With enough time, we could blaze.

“Problem solved.” I finish and offer his phone back.

He slips the device from my hand, my skin burning when his gently brushes mine. And I think I see it, the spark of desire in his eyes.

His mouth opens to say something, but the whir of a power tool overtakes the entire entryway from the construction workers upstairs.
