His Heated Caress : Paranormal Dragon Shifter Romance(22)
Author: Celia Kyle

A lone bead of sweat rolled down her temple, locks of hair plastered to her forehead, and she gritted her teeth as a ball of burning pleasure took over her insides. Her inner walls tightened into a vise around his cock and, with one final thrust, they finally came undone.

The sound of their voices blended with that of their bodies, the only soundtrack a moment like this could have, and they came together. His cock throbbed hard against her insides, its spasms sending waves of ecstasy up her body, and she moaned as he filled her deeply. She was now lost in a maze of pleasure, and that was all that mattered.

When they finally pulled back from each other, they collapsed on top of the mattress, their limbs sprawled, completely exhausted. They just lay there, listening to each other’s ragged breathing. Everything they wanted to say to each other could be understood without words.

In that silence, their fingers touched.

They clasped their hands and knew they were loved.

Chapter Ten

Something was special about watching the first light of dawn cast its glow on the face of the most beautiful woman in the world. Stark’s eyes had been open for about ten minutes, gazing on Wyntir’s peaceful, serene face half-covered in bedsheets, admiring that untamed and unmanaged, messy beauty that glowed around her like an aura. She shifted just enough to pull the covers off her face, revealing a mouth hanging open with a bit of drool dribbling out. As Stark grinned, she snorted in her sleep, and a little puff of smoke escaped her nostrils.

She was simply the most adorable woman he’d ever met, and the fact that they were sharing a bed felt like one long, golden dream.

He had already broken the ground of being married to the world of shifters with Fara, and Blaise carried on those genes marvelously. The quarter-fox child had taught him to love the little details that weren’t “in the books,” so to speak. He couldn’t wait to get to know every last thing about Wyntir.

Ten days had barely been enough to scratch the surface of her quirks and nuances. She had given him the staggering gift of a woman’s love, and the man who would not return that with every bit as much work and effort to care for that love would be no man at all.

The bedroom door flew open and smacked the stopper on the wall as a blur rushed into the room. Natural predator that she was, Wyntir sprang bolt upright out of a dead sleep, arms out in a defensive position. The next moment, the whirlwind landed in those arms with a delighted giggle, and Wyntir blinked down at Blaise before she even realized what had happened. Even asleep her reaction time was incredible.

“Get up!” Blaise shouted, wriggling like a happy puppy. “Letsgoletsgoletsgo!”

With a belly laugh, Wyntir grabbed the boy and pinned him to the mattress while Stark joined the fun by tickling the bejesus out of his son.

“No!” he squealed as he tried to squirm his way out from under them. “We’re going to be late!”

“Hey, kid, we’re awake,” she teased, peppering his face with gross girl-kisses. “Looks like you’re the one fooling around.”

The last straw was when Stark pulled up Blaise’s superhero pajama top and Wyntir promptly blew a raspberry on his bare tummy. They all collapsed in a puddle of giggles. Finally, Blaise crawled out from the mass of limbs and bolted from the room.

“Hurry up!” he shouted as he went to get dressed.

“Think you can get used to that alarm clock around the holidays?” Stark released a sleepy chuckle as Wyntir slid back under the sheets and stretched against him with a warm smile.

“I think I could do a lot worse.”

Their fingers entwined as she snuggled into the crook of his arm, his fingers lightly brushing across the spaghetti strap of her nightie. The thing could barely even be classified as clothing, but it was her compromise after the first time Blaise had woken them up in the morning and she’d had to hide her nakedness under the covers.

Stark basked in this beautiful, quiet moment—a moment he’d never thought he’d experience again. That feeling of having something that was broken, or at least cracked, become whole again. It applied to his heart, his life, his family. Wyntir had helped heal the last of their wounds and brought love back into their world.

It wasn’t the same as with Fara. Not better or worse, just…different. The simple fact was that he’d fallen in love with two very different people under very different circumstances. In fact, he was a different person too, and he was at peace with that. He knew Fara would be happy he’d finally found someone worthy of their son’s admiration, and he couldn’t quite believe how deliriously happy he was to be starting their life together. As a family.

“Sorry to have to tell you this, but it’s too late to change your mind about bringing Blaise,” he murmured in her ear. “Even so, I’m so glad you insisted.”

Wyntir shifted in his arms and propped herself up to look down at him. “I literally have no idea how everyone who runs into that kid doesn’t try to kidnap him. I know Trystin would have enjoyed having Blaise stay with them, but it’ll give them something to talk about when we get back. Besides, it wouldn’t be much of a vacation without Blaise. He’s the most adorable ball of fire ever, and that’s coming from a girl who knows her fireballs.”

“You have the best fire ever, dear,” he kissed her softly on the neck. “And I’m a big fan of stoking it, but we should get ready now.”

He started to sit up, but she pushed him back down, that same fire smoldering in her eyes. “Hey, don’t think you can talk like that and just walk away.”

Slipping one leg across his body, she pulled herself into a sitting position, directly over his quickly wakening cock. He couldn’t help chuckling, even as his hungry hands skimmed her rounded hips, the hem of her silk nightie tickling the backs of his hands.

“Really?” he asked with an arched eyebrow. “Now? Our flight leaves in just a few hours and we haven’t even started packing.”

“I can be quick,” she promised in a low voice that sent a shiver up his spine.

“Blaise could come in at any second,” he sighed, his resolve weakening as she ground her hips against him.

“Then I’ll be really quick.” She dropped her lips and kissed his neck, her hands slicking up and down his arms. The heat of her sex drove him beyond all ability to think.

“You like pushing it. Don’t you, my love?” he growled, gripping the flesh of her ass like he might drown if he didn’t.

“Not as much as you.”

She winked and shifted her hips just the right way. The tip of his cock slipped inside her and the rest of the world faded from focus.

“What do you mean it’s been declined?” Stark groaned.

Wyntir watched the frustration spread across Stark’s face as they stood in the tiny dockside office for a sailing charter company in Hobart, Tasmania. Blaise was a few feet away, staring into the dark face of the harbor waters, looking at his own reflection with fascination. Wyntir stood off to one side, trying to stay out of the way while Stark tried to pay for the rental.

“I apologize, sir, but the card has been declined,” the booking agent lamented in one of her favorite accents.

He looked even more put out by it than Stark. Wyntir stifled a laugh. The poor guy. He got to meet a big celebrity like Stark Bradford and all he got to do was break the news that the actor’s card didn’t work. She could tell the agent was pained by the experience. Talk about bad luck. Wyntir wondered how long Stark would go before he asked for help. That was an important aspect of their relationship balance—giving one another enough time and space to be as stubborn as necessary. They understood each other that way. It was nice.
