Marked (Pacific Northwest Shifters #3)(3)
Author: Reese Knightley

Alister’s smile was so god damned sexy, Jonas almost blew his load right there.

“Don’t,” Alister warned, then eased to his back and opened his legs.

Jonas dropped his head and took Alister’s cock to the root. The tip nudged the back of his throat and the warlock shouted and then yanked a hand to his mouth to stifle the sound. Closing his mouth tightly, Jonas slid his lips up to the crown and then down, repeating the action deeper, again and again. Alister’s back bowed and his head thrashed.

Rising up, Jonas reached down and pressed the tip of his pulsing cock to Alister’s entrance and slid past the tight ring.

“Oh yeah, oh yeah, Jonas, fuck,” Alister muttered, gripping his hips hard.

Jonas slipped in deeper, the sheath of Alister’s body like a vice he never wanted to leave. He didn’t stop until he was balls deep, and then he pulled out of the slickness before pressing in farther this time.

“Nnnnnh,” Alister choked out.

Jonas agreed. He agreed so fucking much. It felt like forever since he’d been this deep in this man. A man he pined for, but could never really be with.

When Alister’s legs wrapped around his waist, he snapped his hips hard and set up a brutal pace that only an otherworldly being could handle. With his alpha strength, he fucked Alister into the mattress until he was on the verge of losing it.

He slowed, catching his breath. His hands smoothed the sweat-slicked hair back from Alister’s damp forehead. Burning eyes that swirled with a multitude of colors and an emotion so fierce met his and took his breath away.

Jonas groaned and took Alister’s mouth as he slid in to the hilt this time and set up the punishing pace again. A pace born from need and distance. The sounds coming from Alister’s mouth were muffled and he drank them in. He needed to hear each one, and each catch of breath was like a fucking aphrodisiac to his heart and soul.

“Jonas!” Alister jerked his mouth away and growled, nails digging into his back.

His wolf howled and snapped beneath the surface of his skin and he convulsed, curled forward, and released his seed deep into Alister’s welcoming body.

Alister spiraled out of control beneath him with a wild shudder and spill of hot cum between them.

Jonas gasped and sank his teeth into the mattress instead of Alister’s skin as a muffled howl left his throat.

Alister panted and clung to him with both arms and legs. Jonas, spent, dropped down and covered Alister’s lean, sexy body.

No words could describe his feelings, so he stayed quiet, letting his breath even out, and brushed his jaw against Alister’s temple.

Alister

The wolf’s breathing evened out in sleep, and he looked his fill.

Skin like granite covered miles of muscles. Fuck. A soft sound left his throat and he eased from Jonas’ arms before he did something stupid like wake the wolf.

Stepping out of the tent, he strode into the small clearing, conjuring a dark blue robe on the way. Tying the sash, he coaxed the cold fire into a flame again and then stood staring into the small, red flickers. Smoke drifted on the air. The scent of Jonas covered his skin and he was loathed to remove it.

He glanced back and trailed his gaze over the dark head of hair barely showing through the tent’s opening.

That they were and had been lovers for years had broken some unspoken otherworldly rule. According to the hunters, races didn’t mix. And, as far as he knew, his own race had never taken someone outside of the magic world as a partner.

Yet, Pethious had told him, it wasn’t against their laws.

“It’s against the hunter’s law though,” Alister had pointed out to the grand wizard.

“True, but not ours,” Pethious had returned. “We make our own rules.”

“Can you just see it?” He’d snorted. “A wizard married to a wolf?”

“Just because it’s never been done, doesn’t mean you can’t.” Pethious had given him a slight smile.

So, that left the door open.

Why was he so hesitant to step through it? What was the problem?

Living with the wolves for one.

Sharing Jonas with a pack for another.

It wasn’t in his nature to share. Sure, he had his own band of merry warlocks, but a wolf pack was very different. They heard each other’s thoughts for fuck’s sake.

Alister remembered the day Jonas had suggested they part ways.

“We should end this before one of us gets hurt,” Jonas had rumbled.

Alister had turned in the alpha’s arms and plastered his naked body against the man.

“Sure, we can try it,” he’d agreed, and would have laughed if it hadn’t been so sad. From the first moment they’d met, the attraction between them had been fiery hot.

Yet, the day after their agreement, Alister had sent Jonas off with a kiss.

Of course, it hadn’t lasted. He could no more stay away from Jonas than he could stop breathing, and he’d returned to the summit the very next year to find Jonas waiting for him.

That year, they’d moved it beyond the summit meetings and started arranging rendezvous throughout the alpha’s territory.

He’d never been so happy in his life.

Until it all fell to shit.

“Alister?”

He turned toward the voice and smirked. “Ian. Thanks for coming.”

Ian Mortensen tipped his head, causing his hair to slide forward over one shoulder. Multi-colored eyes moved from him to the tent where Jonas was stirring awake and then back to him.

There was no judgement in the wizard’s gaze. Not that Alister would have given two shits, but he was glad his uncle didn’t judge him.

“Tell me about the mages,” Ian said flatly.

He quickly told Ian of Cage and Jace’s story.

“Then they went after Jonas. I thought Pethious would have told you this,” he frowned.

“He did. I wanted to hear it from you.”

“Did you bring the phone?”

Ian slipped a cell phone from his perfectly pressed pair of slacks and handed it over.

Alister punched in Jace’s number and his best friend answered on the first ring.

“Who’s this?”

“It’s Alister.”

“Oh, thank the powers!” Jace breathed, bringing a smile to Alister’s lips. “Are you okay? Did you find Jonas?”

“I’m fine. I found Jonas. Did Jonas’ pack reach you?”

“Not yet, but Range called. Cage sent Griffin and a few wolves to meet up with them and bring them back here.”

“Where is here?”

“Just across the water from dragon territory.”

“Have you contacted the dragons?” Alister pictured the pack hiding in the thick, lush trees in the Northwest Territories, Canada.

“Cage and Rafe took the boat over to Nunavut territory yesterday.” Jace sighed, and Alister could picture the hunter thrusting a hand through his hair.

“They’ll be okay,” he responded to the worry in Jace’s voice.

“Yeah, I know.” Jace tried to sound brave about his true mate’s whereabouts.

Alister was so damned happy his friend had finally found love. “You know Cage won’t stay away from you for long,” he teased, and then added, “Can’t you feel him?”
