"You're not the only one." I told her. "Apparently Don won't be happy until he has my soul again."
"Abbadon?" Mya checked.
"Yeah, fucking demons off is not the best thing you can do and falling in love is high on his list of misdemeanours. The destroyer says he will destroy our love."
"Back in a tick, sweets." Mya said and she was gone with only our hair swirling as an indication she was there.
We carried on drinking and celebrating until she returned.
"All sorted." She sing-songed.
"What is?" I asked.
"Don. He'll leave you two alone. Call it my happy getting together gift."
"How the hell did you manage that?" Erica asked. "Oh and thank you."
Mya flicked her long, red hair. "Well, first of all I told him that if he got in the path of true love I would buy out the makers of PG Tips and make sure he never got another cup." She giggled, tapping at her cheeks. "And then I gave him Dan Trent's soul."
"Dan Trent. Presenter Dan Trent whose body you dumped on a rubbish tip?"
"You're going to have to explain all this to me later, babe." Erica whispered.
"Yes." Mya nodded enthusiastically. "We took him to my home of wayward souls remember, but, unfortunately he proved beyond redemption. I tried to work to improve him but he was just thoroughly evil and ugly, so I took him to Don. I'll get in a little trouble from Satan, but nothing I can't handle with the sweetener of a few serial killers we have upcoming. Don can dine on Dan's awful soul for years, so I had it written in blood for you to be left alone." She went in her pocket, and drew out a sopping red handkerchief. "Shall I keep it safe? I have a secure facility."
"Where she stays." Roman whispered, having joined us.
Mya turned to him. "Vampire hearing, sweetie. I can always offer Don you and change your hooves into cloven ones?"
"Sorry, Mya. I was just jesting."
She trailed a talon down his face. "I know, sweetie, me too."
"Hey, Freya's on her way in." Erica said. Freya had hit it off with Splinter, the bass guitarist from The Seven and had gone for dinner with him.
They came over smiling.
"Hey all." Freya said.
"Have you had a good time?" Erica asked her bestie.
"A great time." She beamed, looking at her date.
"It could have been better." Splinter said.
As Freya's face fell, he scooped her into his arms and planted his lips on hers.
The PDA got PG18 as she melted into his kiss and they began grinding against each other. Then all of a sudden Splinter wasn't there anymore. He was crouched on all fours at the other side of the room.
"Mine." Rex growled, now at the side of Freya. "My mate."
"Holy fucking shitballs. Looks like Rex's have finally dropped." I announced.
