Ruling Class(86)
Author: J.A. Huss

But I think the point of the ending is that now Cooper and Cadee are on equal footing. For the first time in their relationship they are the “same”. And even though what Cadee was proposing sounds an awful lot like another sequel to The Company, I think I left them in a good place. I think Cadee is finally ready to get off the path of least resistance and Cooper is finally ready to forgive himself and put himself out there and start over.

I don’t think that Cadee finishing school and Cooper going to grad school were actual “goals” if that makes sense. I think both of those things were all about slowing down and just “existing” for a little while.

We all need to do that sometimes.

But I feel like whatever Cadee and Cooper do next, it will be done with intent, with courage, and as a team.

I who knows, maybe in a year or two the next chapter in their story will pop into my brain and I will write another book. But for now, we’re going to leave them here.
