“He’s a Sphynx cat. You were worried about pet hair in the house, so I got us a hairless cat.” He shrugs and I sigh. Tatiana can talk the big softy into anything.
Shaking my head, I look from my bouncing daughter to my hot husband who’s cradling the tiny, hideous creature. “You brought home a mutant kitty to avoid pet hair?”
“MUTANT TITTIE!” Tatiana screeches, and I wince. Hell no. We aren’t naming our ugly cat Mutant Tittie.
Hudson’s eyes are tearing from laughter as he hands the little animal to our daughter. “Now, hold him gently,” I warn since my husband is laughing too hard to speak. “Sweetie, we’ll have to pick another name for the kitty.” It looks up and blinks its pale blue eyes at me, and my heart melts. I reach over and pet his soft, pink head, and the little animal purrs. URG.
When my hard-headed child kisses the cat and shakes her head “no,” I groan. She inherited her stubbornness from Hudson. “No, Mommy. He’s Mutant Tittie.” Jesus. We need to teach her to pronounce K’s.
It’s Sunday dinner at Mom and Dad Russo’s. Our daughter changed the family tradition when she asked to accompany the men as they “let off steam.” None of the big softies can tell my little girl no, so now we all head to the game room once we finish our meal for the Russo festivities.
My head-strong child won’t leave her kitten at home alone, and he’s joining our fun this week. We’re all watching Tatiana chase Muttie around the room. It took some work, but we convinced her to shorten the cat’s name. After the kitty runs by, Eric turns to Hudson with a smirk on his face. “So, let me get this straight. You paid five grand for an ugly ass cat and your kid named it Mutant Tittie?”
“She named him that.” Laughter erupts and I wince. My husband glares at his brothers and insists, “We call him Muttie.”
Mom and I are sitting on the sofa watching the men make fun of Hudson. Dad smirks and shakes his head but doesn’t interrupt the fun.
Eric looks across the room at Jake and mouths, “Pussy-whipped fucker.” Mom hops up and smacks him on the back of his head. “Ouch.”
“There are three children in this room. Watch your language.” She glares at her son, and he sheepishly apologizes. “Sorry. But you have to admit, Hudson is whipped.”
My husband growls at his brother, “I can’t wait for you to fall hard and fast for some poor woman. I’m going to sit back and laugh my ass off.”
Eric throws his hands up and sputters, “Oh, fuck no. Not happening.” He barely ducks in time to avoid the second slap to the back of his head.
