“How do you boys feel about your parents moving back home? Will they be building on the infamous Rocking R Ranch property like the three of you have?”
I blinked. “I’m sorry, what did you say?”
Dad made his way down the stairs and interjected himself into the interview. “And this is where Forbes Magazine needs to excuse themselves since they’ve already spoiled our surprise.”
The reporter blushed a deep red before turning off the recording device.
“I’m so sorry. I figured they already knew,” the reporter said.
Bryce looked at our father. “Is it true? Are you and Mom moving home?”
Dad patted mine and Will’s back. “Well, with the grandkids you guys are pumping out for us, we figured there’s a lot of spoiling to be done. So, yes. Your mother and I are in the process of moving back home. We should be settled in by the time all of this honeymooning is done.”
My brothers and I sent up cheers of happiness before we embraced our father, showering him with kisses. We heard the limo door open as the girls slipped out, wiggling their way into the party. We could tell they were confused, but they rejoiced with us anyway. And as I wrapped my arms around Luna, I picked her up to swing her around before her beautiful red lips crashed against mine.
“I love you,” she whispered.
I placed her back down onto her feet before my hands settled into the small of her back. “I love you, too,” I murmured.
She smiled. “What’s got you guys so happy?”
I nuzzled her nose with my own. “Mom and Dad are moving back to Conroe.”
Her eyes widened. “What? That’s great news! When?”
Dad chuckled behind us. “Come on. Let’s get you guys into the reception and get to dancing. We can talk about logistics later.”
And as I threaded my fingers with Luna’s, all of us proceeded into the reception hall. Walking beside our wives, smiling from ear to ear, and silently rejoicing that our lives had finally gotten on track. No matter how quickly—or how slowly—things happened.
Nothing could get better than this.
