Gifts for the Season(44)

“Then don’t.” Sliding the plug in and out, Nick fucked him with it until Teddy’s moans gave way to incoherent babbling and begging.

“Please, Nick. Now.”

He tugged him down for a long kiss while continuing to work Teddy with the plug until he too was impatient and fumbling for the lube in the nightstand.

Teddy groaned appreciatively as Nick slicked his cock up. “Thank you.”

“Don’t thank me. Fuck me.” He slid the plug out of Teddy and coaxed him into position.

“Well, technically…” Teddy paused, hovering with his ass millimeters from where Nick needed it.

“Smart ass. Come on. Please.”

“You? Begging for speed?” Grinning broadly, Teddy started to sink down, far slower than usual, torturing Nick with all that slick, tight heat.

“That’s it,” Nick groaned. “So good.”

“Yeah you are.” Somehow Teddy managed an impish grin as he settled all the way down, ass against Nick’s thighs, tight heat gripping Nick’s cock all the way to the base. “Damn. I’ve missed this.”

“Me too. Love this. Love you.” No way was Nick going to last. It had been too long, and Teddy felt too damn good for a marathon fuck, especially with Teddy rocking and moving intently, moaning every so often, more so when Nick started surging up to meet him.

“God. It’s too good. Can’t…” Teddy squished his eyes shut and his fingers dug into Nick’s chest.

“Kiss me,” he demanded, partly because he wanted to see Teddy open his gorgeous, lust-filled blue eyes and also because he was going to die if he didn’t get Teddy’s mouth in the next thirty seconds. Luckily, Teddy saved him from certain death, leaning forward to claim his mouth in a needy, artless kiss that had Nick right on the edge too.

Teddy broke the kiss first, breathing like a freight train. “Nick. Nick. Gonna…”

Some other time Nick would draw this out, make him even more crazed for it, make him wait until he was so worked up that he came without a hand on his dick. But this time, Nick was the impatient one, needing to see Teddy go more than he needed to prolong the fun. “Do it. Come for me.”

“You too,” Teddy demanded, grinding down hard, hips moving in tight circles, body finding that angle he seemed to like best. Just watching him had Nick’s balls tightening and his muscles stiffening.

“Yes. Right there…” Determined to get Teddy there first, he reached for his cock, and all it took was a fast three strokes before Teddy spurted all over Nick’s fist.

“Nick.” That sound, the way Teddy’s voice broke on his name, pushed Nick over the edge, into an orgasm so hard the edges of his vision grayed out. His whole body convulsed. He hadn’t come that hard, that fast in forever. Damn. He needed a little time to come back to himself.

“I love you. So much.” He pulled Teddy down for a much softer, slower kiss now, enjoying the warmth of his body in a different way than before.

“Me too. And man, I needed that.” Teddy disentangled their bodies with a loud groan.

“We needed that.” Nick kept him close another moment. They were both messy and needed to find the shower before their time alone ended, but he needed this every bit as much as he’d needed the fuck. Seeming to sense Nick’s mood, Teddy buried his face in Nick’s shoulder until both of their breathing returned to normal.

At last, stretching, Teddy sat up. “Now, who wants that dinner?”

“Me.” Nick laughed and tried unsuccessfully to pull him back for another kiss. “Thanks to you, I’m torn between scarfing it down cold and napping.”

“Let’s share a fast shower, then I’m gonna grab the plates. Dinner in bed.”

“But you did the table—”

“This was better. Trust me. Love you.” This time Teddy let Nick steal a kiss before patting him fondly on the jaw. “Now, shower, food, and then we play Santa.”

“Is that what we’re calling it?” Chuckling, Nick raised an eyebrow. He was never getting tired of how Teddy could make him smile and laugh more than he’d ever thought possible.

“Behave.” Teddy gave him a stern look, but his eyes were still twinkling. “We probably don’t have time for second helpings of sex, but we do have time for some online shopping for kid presents.”

“That sounds perfect.” Nick didn’t need another round of sex as much as he needed to keep this closeness going. “Teddy?”

“Yeah?” Halfway out of bed, Teddy paused.

“I’m glad we did this.” Nick grabbed his hand and squeezed. And he meant this special night in, the time for the two of them, the chance to reconnect as a couple.

On a deeper level, he also meant the decision to pursue parenting together. They’d taken a risk together, and there were still plenty of hard days, with probably more to come, but he’d never been happier. He’d thought he’d been in love with Teddy beforehand, thought they’d been as close as two people could get. But the last few weeks had shown him a new type of closeness and a new appreciation for what they had together. And it had revealed a greater capacity for love than he’d ever thought possible. He wouldn’t trade this life for anything.

Chapter Five

Everyone warned Teddy that kids woke up insanely early on Christmas morning, but Teddy hadn’t been sure it would apply to their two. They’d been fairly subdued the night before at Christmas Eve with Teddy’s parents, talking more about the visit they’d had with Grandma Ivy earlier in the day than about the possibility of more presents under the tree. The care facility had had candy canes and cookies for the visiting families, and Aunt Iris had met them there. She’d had new hats and gloves for the kids wrapped in brightly colored paper. One of the nursing staff members had helped Grandma Ivy to make two small ornaments for the kids in an art therapy session. Both kids had raced to hang them on the tree at home, demanding Teddy take a picture.

Heart so full it hurt, he had taken a bunch of pictures, and he’d been worried that concern over Grandma Ivy might dampen their excitement for the rest of the holiday. However, apparently, Christmas morning giddiness was universal. He woke to James bugging Natalie in the hall about whether they could go look at the tree.

Grabbing his robe, he lightly shook Nick, who had traded several favors to get Christmas day off. “Kids are up.”

“I’m awake, I’m awake.” As usual, Nick went from dead to the world to sitting up and alert in five seconds. He reached for his phone and frowned as the time flashed on the screen. “What are they doing up this early?”

“They’re kids. It’s Christmas. Come on, get your robe. Let’s enjoy this.” He flipped his own phone open to the camera app.

“Hey! I’m up! And we still match!” James greeted them in the hall, his bear under one arm. Teddy had continued his parents’ tradition of fresh pajamas for everyone for Christmas eve, going classic with red plaid flannel pants and gray thermal shirts with reindeer on them for all four of them. Snuggles the bear had a matching shirt. Natalie and Nick had predictably grumbled about the matchy-matchy thing, but they’d both suffered through some more pictures and even managed a smile or two.
