“I didn’t think washing the windows could be dangerous,” she explained.
He shook his head. “Why didn’t you tell me what you were going to do? Text me to ask me where the cleaning supplies were?”

“Because I knew you wouldn’t want me cleaning the windows.”
“And you definitely should know I wouldn’t want you climbing a ladder without me. Nor would I want you outside without plenty of clothing on. None of that was acceptable, Mari-girl and you know it.”

She gulped. “Now?”

He treated her extra gently for the rest of the evening. He had her check her blood sugar levels several times, but it remained in the acceptable range. He made sure she drank plenty of water.
