A Business Trip with Dad’s Best Friend(23)
Author: Gena Snow

His praise fills me with pride. Driven by the need to pleasure him, I work harder, letting his crown slide against my soft palate and into my throat.

Soon I don’t see the meadow around me or the sky above, neither do I hear the bird’s chirping anymore, I only see Gavin, hear him and feel him. I massage the base of his shaft with my fingers and suck the head of his manhood as if I’ve been doing it all my life. I don’t mind doing it for the rest of my life. I love this man so much!

While giving him pleasure, I feel it too. Every groan he makes is echoed by a moan of my own. My walls clench each time the tip of his cock rubs against my throat. When he comes, I feel a stream of wetness gushing onto my panties.

Gavin holds me in his arms afterward and kisses me. “Sweetheart. I love you,” he murmurs.

“I love you, too.” I nudge my face against his hard chest, and then I close my eyes and enjoy the satisfaction of having satisfied him. I soon hear Gavin’s soft snores and I drift into a peaceful nap. In my dream, I see myself running on the same meadow with Gavin, playing with beautiful, lovely children. Mmm. Babies. Lots of them. I hear them giggle…

A familiar ring tone brutally wakes me out of my sweet dream.

I fumble in my pocket and with Gavin’s help, pull out my phone. Rubbing my eyes, I recognize the number. It’s Kayla. Strange. She never calls at this time. I sit up, remembering it’s Saturday. She must be working at the restaurant. “What’s up, Kayla?”

“Ivy! Thank God you’re answering. Your dad is on his way to Napa.”

“Why?” I feel ominous.

“Diana called him just a minute ago. I don’t know what they spoke about, but your dad’s face turned white soon after she spoke. At first, he just frowned, saying she must be kidding, and then he lost it. He said, ‘I’m going up to see it for myself. It’d better not be a practical joke!’”

Oh no,” I murmur in a trembling voice, feeling cold despite Gavin’s wrapping his arm around me. “When did he leave?”

“Just now, five minutes ago.”

“Shit. What am I supposed to do?”

“Is Gavin with you?”

“Yeah, he’s right here. You want to speak to him?”

“No! Are you guys still together, or did Diana ruin it?”

“He’s with me. We’re err… together.” I say, glancing at Gavin, who raises a curious eyebrow at me.

“Okay then, let him handle it. I’ve got to go, just want to give you a heads-up.”

“Thanks, Kayla.”

“What happened?” Gavin asks worriedly.

“My dad is on his way here,” I say, dropping my phone to the grass because my hand is trembling.

Gavin picks up the phone for me and hugs me. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’m glad he’s coming because I can’t wait to tell him how much I love his daughter.”

Chapter 20

Gavin

I hold Ivy’s hand as we sit at the chateau's patio and wait for the storm to arrive. I expected a moment like this the night I kissed Ivy, but I didn’t know it would come so soon. This is not going to be easy. Richard and I are as close as brothers since college, and we have never argued before. I don’t want to lose a friend, but I don’t want to lose Ivy, either. God! I love her. I don’t deserve her. If I were Richard, I would beat the hell out of me for stealing his princess. But I have no regrets doing it. I will spend the rest of my life protecting her and making love to her.

If I have to choose between Richard and Ivy, I’ll choose the latter. There’s no doubt about it. I will, however, try to keep my friendship with Richard as well.

As soon as we see Richard’s car, a white Lexus, pulling into the parking, Ivy squeezes my hand.

“It’s okay, sweetheart,” I say to her. “We’ll be fine. Let me do the talking.”

She nods but doesn’t speak, apprehension masking her face.

Richard slams the car door as soon as he steps out of the vehicle. He looks around and soon spots us. We stand up and wave at him. He doesn’t wave back, but stomps toward us with narrowed eyes and clenched jaw.

When he gets close, his eyes focus on our locked hands and he huffs. “Un-fucking-believable!” Richard roars. “That’s your way of giving her a chance to grow up? What the hell did you do?”

“Dad, please,” Ivy chokes out these words. Her face is already smeared with tears. “Calm down. It isn’t Gavin’s fault. I wanted it.”

“Shut up, Ivy! You are just a kid. He’s an adult. He should take full responsibility.”

Ivy’s hand starts to tremble. I’m about to hold her, but Richard grabs my arm with one hand, yanking me aside, and swings at me.

“Shit,” I curse as I whip my face to one side. I’m not fast enough to dodge the blow, and blood spurts out of my nose.

Ivy screams. “Please, stop, Dad!” She grabs Richard’s right arm with both hands.

Richard doesn’t even look at her. His face is red, his chest heaves, and his nostrils flare. He grits his teeth and says, “She’s my baby daughter, asshole!”

“I’m sorry, Richard, but hear me out, please…” I say, wiping the blood that drips onto my lips.

I haven’t finished my sentence when Ivy takes a deep breath and says in a surprisingly calm voice. “Dad! I’m not a baby girl anymore. I’m twenty-two years old! I have the right to decide for myself. I love Gavin. I’ve always loved him. He’s the only man I want in my life. Please don’t try to stop us. Please don’t take my happiness away from me!”

Richard and I both stand mouth agape at her outpour of passion. I can’t believe she said that. My brave girl!

I push Richard aside and hold her. “Thank you, sweetheart. I love you.”

Richard grunts and doesn’t speak for a while. He takes several deep breaths to calm down before asking Ivy, “How long has this been going on?”

Ivy pulls away from me. “Since the end of high school, but it was just one-sided.”

“And you?” Richard glares at me.

“I always like Ivy, you know that, but I didn’t fall for her until three days ago.”

“Let’s sit down, please,” I say to Richard when he falls silent again. “Would you like something to drink?”

He doesn’t answer, but I go ahead to fetch him an iced tea from the fridge inside the dining room.

When I come back to the patio, Richard is talking to Ivy.

“What would Olivia say? Gavin seeing our daughter,” he mumbles.

“Dad! Mom would be happy for me,” Ivy says.

I passed Richard the drink, and he thanks me, still without a smile.

“This reminds me of what you went through twenty-three years ago, Richard,” I say to him as I sit down on a chair facing the two of them, watching him stiffen.

“It was different,” he says with a blush.

“What did you go through, Dad?” Ivy asks curiously.

I look at Richard, waiting for him to speak. His cheeks become even redder, and he glares at me. “That’s a low blow.”

I stifle a smile. “Hey, she has a right to know.”
