In Bed With His Rival(17)
Author: Katherine Garbera

   Because it was Piper.

Pleasure surged through him as she trailed her hand up and down his length, her fingernails scraping over his skin. Then, scooting backward, she came up on her knees to look at him.

She took his shaft in one hand, stroking him in her fist. Moving it up and down in a slow and sensuous movement that made his balls tighten. She skimmed her finger over the tip of his erection when she reached the top, and his hips jerked forward.

Cupping his sac in one hand, she squeezed very softly as she tightened her grip on his shaft, causing him to start thrusting in her hand. Then she leaned forward and he felt her breath on his erection a moment before her tongue dashed out and traced the tip of him.

Awareness moved through his body, making him hyperaware of her hand on his shaft. He meant to stay still, but tangled his hands in her hair as her mouth engulfed him.

She sucked on him, her hand fondling his balls, and he felt his control shatter, but he wanted to be inside her the first time they made love. He gently lifted her from him, and she kissed his shaft as she straightened up, looking him right in the eyes. “Too much?”

“Yes. I want to come inside of you,” he said, his voice sounding rough and gravelly to his own ears. Like all of the sophistication he’d cultivated over the years had been ripped away. “I don’t want this to feel like something I imagined later.”

“You imagine blow jobs?” she teased.

“Don’t. Don’t make me laugh right now,” he gritted out, but he loved that she was so free and fun to be with. He lifted her onto his lap and lay back as he put his hands on her hips, thrusting upward until he felt her hot, humid core against his tip.

She smiled at him as she shifted around until he was inside of her, then lowered herself slowly, inch by delicious inch. When she was fully seated on him, she wriggled her eyebrows. “Is this what you had in mind?”

“No,” he said, as he put one arm in the center of her back and drew her even farther down. Then, while he anchored her hips to his with his other hand, he drove himself up inside of her. Going as deep as he could. “This is.”

“Oooh, I like it,” she murmured.

Brian took everything she had to give him, pushing himself hard until he felt his orgasm shivering down his spine. His balls tightened and he heard those tiny sounds she’d made before her orgasm earlier as he let out his own roar and came inside of her.

He kept thrusting up into her until he was empty and then he fell back against the cushions, holding her in his arms. She rested her head in the curve of his neck and petted his chest as they both caught their breath. He rubbed his hand up and down her back, remembering that he’d said earlier they were simply dating. That this couldn’t be serious since they’d only had one date. But he knew deep inside that was a lie. This was more serious than anything he’d experienced before. He held her lightly because he wanted to wrap himself around her and make it so he never had to let her go.

But he knew he had to. She didn’t want anything serious with him. She’d pretty much said that. So he had to tread carefully.

   For both their sakes.

“That was amazing,” she said, lifting her head. “Want to spend the night?”

Brian looked up at her. He wanted so much more than that, but he could start with one night. “I’d love that. I have my gym bag in the car... I didn’t get to work out today. Let me go and grab it so I have some clean clothes for the morning.”

She nodded. “I’ll clean this all up and meet you inside.”

He pulled his jeans on and looked back at her, lying on the lounger with just the blanket pulled up around her body, her shoulders bare, and he knew he had found something that he hadn’t been looking for. He didn’t let his mind go there because only time would tell if his gut was right. Instead, he walked through her house and got his gym bag from the car.

Then he showered with her and made love to her again before they both fell asleep in her queen-sized bed. He woke often to look down at her. He’d somehow ended up in the one place he’d wanted to be, and it was both better than he’d expected and a hell of a lot scarier. He’d never been a man to run from anything, but the way Piper made him feel...he didn’t want to dwell on it.

The next time he woke it was to the smell of coffee and the sound of Piper talking to someone in the other room. He walked out to find her sitting in her favorite armchair and talking on the phone. She looked up, putting her finger over her lips in a shushing motion.

“I’ll call you back,” she said, hanging up.

Was she embarrassed to have been with him?

Brian looked at her sitting there, the woman he had wanted for a while now. He’d always been the kind of man who was very good at getting what he wanted, and wasn’t afraid to go after the things that might seem out of reach to others. He’d never thought of himself as less than until she’d motioned for him to be quiet.

He wasn’t embarrassed to be here with her. But he realized that, as much as he might not view them as opponents, she did. She was squarely on her sister’s side and she might not want Keith Cooper’s nephew in her bed. And while that was her decision and he’d respect it, he didn’t want her to have used him the way that it seemed Ava had used his uncle.

“What was that about?” Brian asked.

His hair was tousled from sleep, and seeing him this morning, looking sexy as sin, just reinforced all the feelings she’d had for him last night.

God he was so ripped that she had a hard time tearing her gaze from his chest. She felt that tingle in all the right places and wished she’d stayed in bed with him this morning. But he confused her. They should be casual but she’d awoken and stared down into his face, feeling something more.

Something that was far from casual.

Piper had always kept things light in her relationships because of her own self-preservation. She’d made up her mind after her broken engagement that she’d never be that vulnerable to a man again. Which posed a huge problem. Because she hadn’t realized until this very moment that Brian meant more to her than she had thought he would.

“I just didn’t want to have to explain to Ava that you had spent the night,” she said.

“Explain? Why would you?” he asked, coming closer to her.

She was having a hard time keeping her eyes off his broad, muscular chest. He wore a pair of boxer briefs and nothing else. He had no tattoos on his body, was one-hundred-percent eye candy. Not a bad way to start the day.

   Then his words sank in.

“She’s was always mothering me. I think it’s the age difference.”

“Would you have asked any man to be quiet or is it just me?” he asked her.
