Making Her Mine (The Callahans #6)(71)
Author: Monica Murphy

I frown. “What are you talking about?”

“You’ll see.” Her tone is mysterious, as is the expression on her face.

Much later, when the game is long over and I’ve got Addie half-naked in the back of my 4Runner, her legs wrapped around my hips and my mouth on her neck, she whispers, “Your parents are planning something for us.”

I pull away from her neck, scowling at her as I slowly thrust my hips against hers. “You can’t mention my parents while we’re doing this, Adds. Kind of ruins the mood.”

She laughs, not bothered by my comment whatsoever. “I can’t help it. Your mom was dropping some hints during halftime when I talked to her and I’m dying to know what’s up.”

“I know nothing.” I run my mouth along the length of her throat, making her sigh. The sound goes straight to my dick, as usual. “And I don’t care what they’re planning. All I care about is you.”

Her legs tighten around my hips and I wish we were completely naked. But I don’t want our first time to be in the back of my car. I want us to have sex on a bed, but right now that feels impossible. My mom is always home. Her mom is always home. And I’m not going to have sex with Addie at some random party in someone else’s bed.

I want it to be special. My friends would make fun of me, but Addie gets it. Deep down, I think I’m a romantic at heart.

Actually, I know I am.

But only for Addie.

“I did something,” she says, her hands on my shoulders, gently pushing.

I lift away from her neck to stare down at her pretty face. Her eyes are sparkling and her cheeks are flushed, as is her chest. Her hair is a complete mess and I push a few strands away from her forehead, dropping a kiss there. “What did you do?”

“I went on birth control.” Her expression is solemn as she stares up at me. “I’ve been on it for the last week.”

“Are you saying you want to have sex with me, Adds?” I’m teasing. It’s kind of obvious. I literally just had my fingers between her thighs not even a few minutes ago.

“Yes. Maybe even…tonight?” She raises her brows, hopeful.

“I’m not fucking you for the first time in the back of my car,” I say firmly. “Besides, isn’t it close to your curfew?”

Her shoulders fall a little. “Yeah. It’s just—I really want to have sex with you, Callahan. Like, bad.”

I laugh. “I’m dying to have sex with you too, Douglas. But I want to do this right.”

“Always talking about doing what’s right.” She rolls her eyes, though she’s also grinning. “Such a saint, Beck.”

“You like me this way.” I kiss her, my tongue thrusting against hers. I’m not feeling so saintly right now, and from the way she’s moaning and shifting beneath me, I can tell she’s not feeling too saintly either. “Soon, Adds. I promise.”

“Oh my God, it feels like I’ve been wanting this forever.” Her hands are in my hair and she gives it a hard tug.

“You’re not scared?” She used to say that, when we first started messing around on the regular, but I haven’t heard her use that word in a while.

“Not with you. Not anymore.” She touches my cheek. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” I kiss her nose. She reaches for my cock, and while I definitely don’t mind, I know what she’s trying to do. “But we’re not doing it back here.”

She pouts. “We need to make this happen. Soon.”

“We will.” I pull away from her, wondering where all of this restraint is coming from. Maybe all that talk from my mother growing up about respecting women actually sunk into my brain.

“In the meantime, since you didn’t come…” Her voice drifts, and next thing I know, I’m lying flat on my back, my boxer briefs long gone and Addie’s warm, wet mouth is wrapped around the head of my dick, her fingers curled around the base.

I push her hair away from her face so I can watch, because damn, there is nothing hotter than watching my girl give me a blow job. The back of my car has witnessed all sorts of scandalous shit since we’ve been together.

We’re hungry for each other all the time. Overly affectionate. I want to touch her always. Kiss her almost as much. I am so gone for this girl some might call it pathetic.

I just consider myself lucky. I finally got my dream girl.

And she’s all mine.

THIRTY-THREE

ADDIE

The surprise Beck’s parents put together included flying all of us for Beck’s eighteenth birthday to…

Seattle.

We arrived early Saturday morning and we’re staying at Eli and Ava’s house. A perfect storm of Callahans was brewing—the Seattle Seahawks are playing the Arizona Cardinals Sunday afternoon. Bennett versus Callahan. Beck’s brother-in-law Ash plays for the Raiders and the team has a bye-week.

This means all of the Callahans are in Seattle. As is my sister and brother-in-law.

Talk about meant to be.

The moment we arrived at SeaTac Airport, we went to the rental car area and picked up an SUV and drove to Eli and Ava’s to drop off our stuff. We played tourist for the afternoon, walking around downtown Seattle, visiting the Public Market, and enjoying a long lunch by the water. After lunch, we went to the University of Washington and walked around the campus. It’s a school we’re both contemplating, but I’m not sure what we’re going to do yet.

Considering we need to start applying soon, it’s something that’s in the forefront of our minds. It’s unspoken, but I think we’re going to try to go somewhere together.

When we finally arrived back at Ava and Eli’s, they’d put together a birthday party for Beck—and for me. The entire family was already there.

Ava arranged to have the party outside. The weather was crisp and cool—absolutely perfect. Happy birthday and our names were spelled out in golden balloon letters and strung on the wall. There was so much food and more than a few kids running around with adults chasing after them. The only couple—besides Beck and me—who don’t have kids is Jake and Hannah and I think they’re still okay with that decision, though I did see Hannah cuddling Ava and Eli’s son Rhett in her arms, smiling down at him as he slept.

The only time that kid is calm, I swear.

Within a few minutes, he woke up, reached for a strand of Hannah’s long red hair and tugged so hard, she yelped and immediately set him down. He took off running like the little terror he is.

He’s basically Eli junior, which is more than a little terrifying.

Everyone talked over each other at dinner. Eli, Diego and Jake got into an argument over NFL stats and Beck’s dad had to interject his opinion here and there. To the point that they were all yelling at each other, insisting they were right. Even Beck got in on the action, looking up stuff on his phone to prove whoever was wrong.

Most of the time, it was Diego who was right. This infuriated Jake and Eli.

I thought it was funny.

The women talked about kids and their men and how football rules their lives. I don’t think they’re upset about it, though. They all seem pretty content. My sister is the happiest I’ve ever seen her with her two kids and doting husband. Diego would often ask her if she needed help with the baby, since Axel is one and a handful. They’d trade off watching him and I helped out too, chasing Axel and Rhett around the yard.
