Not A Player(22)
Author: R.C. Stephens

Wolfe looks over to Rebel. “I need to tell him.”

“Tell me what?” I ask.

“Don’t do it,” Rebel interferes, eyeing Wolfe like he better not open his mouth.

“About Lili. I was trying to figure out why she looked so familiar,” he says.

“Oh no, Wolfe. Please stop.” I put up my hand and pull my gaze from him. “Lili doesn’t want me to know where she’s from. She’s been through a lot, and I need to respect her boundaries.”

Wolfe then looks at Rebel and she cocks her brow, giving him an I told you so look.

“Fine,” he concedes.

“You guys have a good night,” I say. I tap his shoulder and head to the elevators. A part of me is damn curious about what he was going to say, but I can’t do it to Lili. I just have to realize, after tonight, I will need to let her go. Lili’s flight is in the morning and I’m heading out on the late flight with my friends. At least I won’t have to be alone. Not that the flight over here turned out so bad. I met Lili.

When I get to the room, Lili is in the shower.

“Hi,” I say loud enough so she knows I’m back.

“Do you want to maybe go get drinks on the boardwalk? I saw a cute place that had some chill dancing,” she asks.

“Sounds good.”

I strip out of my clothes and grab a condom. When I enter the shower, it’s steamy and Lili looks like a goddess. Her nipples harden and my cock twitches.

Our bodies collide and our lips come together. I missed her. Kissing her feels like a breath of fresh air after I’ve been starved of oxygen. She is just as hungry as I am, wrapping her arms around my shoulders. There is nothing soft and slow about the way we devour each other, and then I reach down and pull her legs around me and lean her against the wall.

“Shit, I need to get the condom on first,” I say.

“I’m on the Pill,” she says. “And I’m clean. I haven’t been with anyone for a year. I tested myself after I caught my ex cheating.”

She had me at ‘I’m on the Pill.’

I slide inside her and we both groan. She feels warm, wet, and tight.

“You feel like heaven,” I say, kissing her lips.

I pick up the pace, drilling into her, and she somehow manages to bob up and down on my cock, and fuck.

“Lili, I’m going to come,” I warn because this feeling of skin to skin is too much. I feel like an animal drilling into her, and she meets my every thrust with fervor.

“Fuck, I’m coming,” she says, and she falls over the edge. We fall together.

“Damn,” I swear, as she untangles her legs and dismounts me. We are both breathing heavy.

“Yeah,” she says, panting.

After relaxing under the warm stream for a few more minutes, we both shampoo our hair and wash our bodies.

Then we get out and Lili puts on one of her flowy dresses. This one is a burnt orange. I put on a pair of dark jeans and a white short-sleeve button-down.

We head out to the boardwalk hand in hand.

“I’m going to miss this place,” I lament, but what I really want to say is I’m going to miss her. I’ve never had a relationship before, so I don’t have anything to compare us to, but in my heart, I know it’s special. She’s special.

We stop at a bar and have a couple of drinks and then we dance to some island music.

It requires a lot of hip movement and Lili laughs about how rigid I am. I want to tell her she wouldn’t think I was rigid if she saw me play hockey, but I hold my tongue.

When we get back to the hotel room, we both reach for the other, ripping our clothes off with an impatience I’ve never felt before. However, when we get to the bed, I slide inside her, and slow things down as I savor each thrust inside her. My hands run over her silky skin, admiring her curves. There is something surreal about the moment as she looks into my eyes. Her breathing picks up and I feel myself lengthen. I reach down and roll her nub and her chin slightly tilts as her breaths pick up and she moans, but we continue to watch each other. It feels intimate, and if she is willing to do this then I’m game. Maybe I got through to her. Maybe she feels what I’m feeling.

When I feel her swell around me and her pussy clenches my cock, I pick up the pace and she comes, and I follow right after her. I don’t feel myself drift off to sleep, but when I wake in the morning there is no sign of Lili, other than a note on her pillow.

I’m almost scared to read it.

Thank you, Logan. This time with you was special and healing, and I will hold you in my heart forever.

“Why do you look so glum?” Mom asks as I sulk at a table in the hotel restaurant.

I lift my head from watching the hot coffee mug snuggled between my hands. I didn’t have an appetite but was in dire need of coffee.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” I reply dryly when I finally lift my head. I see Mom has her suitcase beside her.

“I wanted breakfast before my flight. Mind if I join you?” she asks. She’s already grabbing a chair but still I motion with my hand for her to have a seat.

I go back to staring at my coffee mug, wondering if maybe Lili was a figment of my imagination. She was so pretty and nice. She was real. I would have wanted to get to know her better. Find out what made her tick, but she wasn’t having any of that.

“This about the girl I saw you with at the wedding?” Mom asks. I lift my head to look at her and nod.

“I can’t get her out of my head,” I admit.

“Didn’t you just meet her?” Mom asks.

“So what?” I snap. “Sorry.”

“Oh, darling, I know all about flings and relationships and what I can tell you is they suck. It isn’t worth the time and heartache,” she says.

Just great. Now I have to listen to my mother, who has the worst track record of all time when it comes to relationships, give me advice.

Out of respect I remain quiet for a bit, but then her words begin to grate on my nerves.

“I’ve never seen you in a relationship,” I say, bringing it to her attention.

“Because men don’t stay. They’re a bunch of users,” she replies.

“That’s a very general statement. There are men who stay,” I reply.

“None I’ve come across,” she declares. I really want to lecture her about her life choices right now, but I’ve done that before and her usual response is I’m a kid who doesn’t know any better.

She orders herself some eggs, bacon, and toast. Then she downs about three cups of coffee.

“That girl did you a favor,” she says as she shovels eggs into her mouth.

“I don’t see how,” I reply, my whole body feeling heavy and sad. Could I have done more to convince Lili I was worth her time?

“Trust me, it’s better not to get invested,” she states, and she wipes her mouth with a napkin. She rises from her chair. “You mind getting the tab?”

I watch my mother with a dropped jaw. She knows I’m a student and I don’t have time to work. I’m guessing she also figures Declan is picking up my tab, which he is. I can’t wait to draft already and make my own money. All my hard work is about to pay off.
