Succubus Chained (Shackled Souls Trilogy #1)(27)
Author: Heather Long

“Not really.” Though he didn’t need to try that hard. He really was very pretty.

“Thank you.” This time, he dropped the kiss on my lips. “But no, I’m not trying to seduce you. Not yet anyway.” With care, he stood and then carried me through the water to the steps before climbing to the second pools. Even though we were in the chilly air for a moment, I barely felt it and steam rolled up from our skin.

Oh, I groaned as he waded us into the hotter pool. Tension I hadn’t even realized I was carrying faded away.

He set me down against the carved spots in the stone that made for a perfect cradle, then knelt between my thighs before he kissed me again. This time, it wasn’t just a peck, but a genuine, open-mouth, tongue flicking, toe curling, pussy-clenching kiss that had me fisting his hair. When he lifted his head, he licked his lips.

“I’ll get the fires started, then I’ll go fetch you a breakfast.”

Real food.

My stomach growled and did a little flip-flop.

“I really can still eat regular food?” It was such an idiotic question. I didn’t want to be a vampire. But all they’d given me at the prison were bags of blood that I wouldn’t touch. No other food. I hadn’t had anything except water in weeks.

“Yes, Beautiful,” Fin promised me. “You can have anything you want. Tell me, and I’ll make it happen.”

I eyed him for a long moment. Things that sounded too good to be true often were. “What will it cost me?”

“Nothing,” he said, frowning, his playful expression turning fierce. “I want to take care of you.”

And I wanted to believe that…

If he heard that thought, he didn’t comment on it.

“Tell me what I can bring you to make you smile.” The quiet plea there touched me, even if I didn’t want to admit it. That, and he really hadn’t made a move to get me to ride his cock. Impressive, since most guys wanted in me within a few minutes of talking to me. But he and Maddox had both handled it well. Rogue had too, really, until I lashed out at him.

Worth it.

“Coffee,” I told him honestly. “I’d kill for fresh coffee, a gallon, I like it with a little sugar and cream. Bacon. I haven’t had bacon in weeks.” My mouth watered at the thought of it. “Real British fry-up actually, the bacon, the eggs, the English muffin, some pork and beans, and sausages.” My stomach growled vociferously, and Fin’s smile grew. “And clothes, my clothes, something I can put on because it’s so cold here.”

Lips quirking, he said, “I will bring you back all that you have asked for, though I might work on a way to heat the place. I like watching you walk around naked. Your body is spectacular.”

I snorted. “If I’m naked, then so is everyone else.”

“Deal,” Fin said with a wink. Then he vanished from the water. Vanished from the whole room. I pivoted to look around for him, but he wasn’t there. Suddenly, fire boomed in one of the fireplaces, then the other. The roar of two miniature explosions made me laugh.

“Nice,” I called out. “Very nice.”

You’re welcome, Beautiful. I’ll be back soon. Relax and stay warm. I’d like that soreness to go away so I can show you just how much I’d like to please you.

Okay.

That was hot.

I heard that…

Dick.

Heard that, too.

I laughed.

Well, I’d give them this.

They weren’t boring.

Chapter 10

“Seduce my mind and you can have my body. Find my soul and I’m yours forever.” - Anonymous

As promised, Fin wasn’t gone long at all. Long enough, I tired of soaking in the water. I’d dropped back into the washing pool and actually washed my hair and cleaned up before returning to the soaking pool. Conveniently, Fin had left an oversized robe that reached my ankles and had sleeves that went past my hands, but it was warm and thick.

Wrapped up in it, I headed over to one of the benches in front of the huge fire. Granted, the stone wasn’t the most comfortable piece of furniture—would it kill them to invest in something less Dark Ages? At this point, I’d take eighteenth or nineteenth century.

Still, I was finger combing my hair while basking in the heat when Fin returned with a ripple of air and a distinctive ‘pop.’ The scent of the coffee hit me first, and I was on him faster than a one-night stand at Mardi Gras. He chuckled as he surrendered the first large cup to my eager hands.

I took a deep breath, and I swore I orgasmed right there. It was like manna from heaven. Or at least something like that, not that I’d ever had manna. Yeah, that didn’t work. Here, just picture waking up every day for weeks to shitty circumstances, and to top it off, you get no coffee. Now, the really sexy druid not only brought coffee, he brought bacon.

I was so sucking him off after all this.

The first sip hit my taste buds, and I moaned. Oh, it was the perfect dark blend. Strong enough to fuel the fantasies with just enough sugar and cream to tie you up in silken ropes so it could have its way with you.

“You really like coffee,” Fin commented softly, and I cut my gaze to him on the next sip. His lips were wet like he’d been licking them, and I didn’t bother to contain my next moan.

“You have no idea,” I whispered after I swallowed the next mouthful. “Bacon?” My stomach had begun to growl and gurgle. It really hadn’t in weeks; I thought it had given up on me ever eating real food again, like a lost cause. I know I had. But this…this was better than sex or escape. This was perfection.

“I brought you everything you asked for,” he promised, and turned to the rolling table that looked so horribly out of place here.

“Did you steal that from a hotel?”

That would be hilarious. Go to a hotel, order room service, just bring the whole thing here.

Wait, if we could do that, why couldn’t I just go to the hotel?

“Not quite,” Fin retorted, dispelling my fanciful ideas. Reaching for one of the silver tray lids, he added, “For now, let’s just—”

The doors to the hall slammed open with a crashing force, and I damn near spilled my coffee jerking around as a rush of icy air flooded what had actually finally started to warm up. Dressed in only a pair of jeans and barefoot, Maddox strode across to us.

His fierce expression seemed on the edge of barely restrained rage.

“Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” I muttered. “Rogue not a good cuddler, DF?”

He drew up short with a hitch in his step. “DF?”

“Dick face,” Fin supplied for me in an oh so helpful tone. “I’m Astral-Boy. I think he’d prefer Mad-Dragon, Beautiful. But it’s all the same to me.”

Maddox glared at me, then at Fin. “Why the fuck did you drag her down here? We’re supposed to be together, where we can all protect her.”

“Yes, because that long walk from Rogue’s bedroom to here is rife with pitfalls as we waded through the swamp of despair to reach the hall of gloom and finally the lava pits of Marwen.”

The dry look and tone were perfect. Letting them hash it out, I took another drink of the decadent coffee and hummed happily. On the plate were all the foods I’d asked for. Maddox reached for one of my slices of bacon and then let out a harsh yell when I put a knife right through his hand.
