The little tornado, both human and furry, immediately stops running amok and the yelping, the hissing and the ‘Aww, Daddy! No!’ start deafening us in its place.
My husband hides a smile and I giggle, peeking from around his large back.
“And no whining! Or the single month becomes two!” He finishes them, and everybody shuts up, little Michael even going as far as to pick up the controllers to manually switch off the TV and the player.
“Sorry Daddy!” Michael says.
“Sowy Daddy! Weally!” confirms Jackson nodding eagerly.
“That’s more like it!” my hubby says gruffly, and by now everybody is giving him big puppy eyes and I’m still trying hard not to laugh.
Axe turns to look at me and glares.
I roll my eyes. “Come on, it wasn’t so bad, you big softie!”
He sighs, rubbing his face. “I don’t like to scold them,” he grumbles.
I shake my head. “Too bad you have to, being that they’re your kids and all.”
He pouts a little and I’m about to hug him when I see his eyes grow large and then narrow down at me.
“What?” I ask.
I know that look.
“I’ll go down on you every day, morning, noon and evening for a year if you take Mean Strict Parent duty for a month. Deal?”
I laugh at him, punching his arm. “And that would be a sacrifice on your part how exactly? I can barely keep you away from my pink bits as it is, not that I would wish to. Nice try, baby…”
He smirks. “Had to make the attempt at least.”
I shake my head at him. “Of course you had!”
He sighs, looking heavenward. “Fine… how about I’ll come to those stupid flea markets thingies you like so much for a year if you do.”
I throw my arms around him, smiling. “That’s more like it, love. You got yourself a deal.”
Axe picks me up once more and kisses me, making the kids ‘eww’ in chorus.
He breaks the kiss and turns to look at them. “Wanna make it three months, kids?”
“No, Daddy, please!”
I giggle. “Wasn’t I the one on Meany Duty from now?” I ask.
He smiles, shaking his head. “If you start now, I’d only get twenty-nine days and a half off duty out of our little deal, babe… I knew you would try to get out of it already!”
“I was trying to do no such thing!”
I so was!
We both hate being strict with the boys.
He pulls me back into his arms and we both laugh into our kiss.
Did I mention I love this man and my crazy hectic life?!
