Double The Mistletoe (Taken, #2.5)(21)
Author: K.L. Ramsey

“I know all of that in my head but my heart hurts that people aren’t going to be happy for us. It’s almost like they can’t see that you two make me a better version of myself. Cassey can’t be happy for me because she’s not that type of person,” Winter said.

“I remember her back in high school,” Luke said. “She was what—two years ahead of us?” Winter nodded. “Yeah—she used to give you shit back then too, right?” he asked.

“Yes,” she said. “Cassey and I have always had a rocky relationship,” she admitted. “Still, she’s my sister and I would never do this to her—cut her out because of who she wants to be with.”

“Just give people time to come around,” Chris said. “It took my parents time to accept who I am when I came out. My father didn’t talk to me for almost a half a year,” he said. Winter remembered that time and how upset Chris was about his father possibly never forgiving him for being bi—like that was something that needed forgiveness.

“I remember,” she whispered. “I’ll try to be patient,” she promised. “But, I need to know—which dress should I wear tonight?” She giggled as Chris and Luke looked at each other and back to her.

“The blue one,” they both said in unison.

“Well, then, the blue one it is,” she said. “Can one of you please unzip me?” she asked.

“With pleasure,” Luke teased. He kissed every inch of her body as he slowly pulled the zipper down her back.

“We do not have time for any of that right now,” Chris said. “Our guests will be here in a half-hour and you take forever to do your hair and makeup,” he accused. She pouted and turned in Luke’s arms to face him.

“How about you—you have time for this?” she asked. Luke swatted her ass, making her yelp.

“Don’t play us against each other, Honey,” he ordered. “You won’t like it if one of us turns you over our laps and spanks this sexy ass red, would you?” She could feel her skin heat as Luke palmed her ass, driving home his point.

“Um,” she squeaked. Winter was pretty sure she’d love every minute of having her ass spanked.

“Shit,” Chris grumbled. “You’re creating a monster, Luke,” he said. Winter giggled and stepped into the blue dress that Chris held open for her. He pulled up her zipper and kissed her cheek. “Finish getting dressed and then after our party, we’ll discuss your spanking,” he promised. Winter squealed and disappeared into the bathroom to find her make up case.

“Yeah—you have no idea what you just got yourself into, Honey,” Luke promised and she could hardly wait.

The rest of their week seemed to fly by. The birthday party for her and Chris was a success. Winter loved seeing some of their old friends and family and most of their guests at least pretended to be happy for Chris, Luke, and her. Winter could tell that her parents and Vicky were still struggling with the fact that she had chosen to be with two men. They might never understand and she’d have to live with that but what—or in this case—who she couldn’t live without were the two men in bed with her right now.

That was where they had spent most of their week, snuggled in the hotel bed, talking, ordering room service, and getting to know each other all over again. Now that she had them both in her life there would be no way that she could walk away from either of them. She was in love with Chris and if she was being honest, she was falling in love with Luke too. It was fun to see the blossoming relationship between the three of them and she couldn’t wait for whatever came next.

Luke had taken her and Chris over to his parent’s house to celebrate Christmas and she loved how they seemed to accept who Luke was. When he introduced both her and Chris as his boyfriend and girlfriend, his parents didn’t even flinch and she wondered if her own family would ever get to that point, welcoming both guys into their fold.

Tomorrow was the day that she and Chris were supposed to return to Los Angeles and she was dreading the drive back knowing that they were leaving a piece of their hearts behind. They said that they would sit down and discuss the next step that they wanted to take but she was too afraid to bring it up, worried that one of the guys might change his mind. She was in a mood and Chris kept shooting her daggers behind Luke’s back silently telling her to “cut it out”.

“You know I can see you looking at each other behind my back, right?” Luke asked.

“Sorry,” Chris said. “I’m just tired of dealing with Miss Doom and Gloom over there,” he said nodding to Winter.

“I can’t help the way I feel, Chris,” she spat.

“You know we can talk about tomorrow, right?” Luke asked. “I mean—you guys have jobs to get back to and I have my shop here. We’re all adults and you two moving back here was a nice thought but I won’t hold you to what you said on Christmas. Listen, tonight’s New Year’s Eve. How do you guys want to celebrate?” Luke asked.

“Like this,” Winter said, snuggling into his body.

“Well, I love the way you think, Honey, but don’t you want to go out? We can get dressed up and go down to the bar, Chris,” he offered.

“No,” Chris breathed. “I agree with Winter—let’s watch the ball drop on television and stay just like this.”

Luke chuckled and nodded, “All right but lets at least order some champagne and toast in the new year. Hell, we can even make some lame-ass resolutions we’ll break by tomorrow at noon.”

“Well, we’ll need to hurry,” Winter said. “We only have a couple of hours until midnight. I want to take a bath and then we can pick up right here,” she said, playfully cupping Luke’s cock.

“That sounds like a good plan,” he agreed. Chris got up to run her a bubble bath while Luke placed their order for room service. She knew that Chris was following her into the bathroom for a reason and she had a pretty good idea it had everything to do with her shitty attitude about leaving in the morning.

“What’s going on with you, Winter?” Chris asked. He turned and started the bathwater and she knew he was hoping to muffle their conversation. “You’re ruining our last night together.”

“Why does it have to be our last night together, Chris?” she asked. “I don’t want to go back to the way things were and our old life—do you?” Chris shook his head. “Then what the hell are we going to do?” she asked.

“I don’t know. I can’t just leave my job without having one lined up here. And what about your dream of being discovered as a makeup artist?” he reminded. She didn’t care about any of that right now.

“Walking away from Luke will be the biggest mistake of both of our lives and you know it. He has an established business in town and our families are both here. It just makes sense for us to be the ones to move back,” she whispered.

“You’re right,” Chris agreed. “I’m just being a chicken. What if Luke doesn’t want us to move back. What if he’s fine with us leaving tomorrow. He hasn’t asked us to stay.”

“Stay,” Luke said from the bathroom door. “I want you both to stay. I want you to move back here and give this thing between the three of us a chance but I was afraid to ask you both to give up your lives out in Los Angeles for me. I was afraid you’d say no,” he admitted.
