Gray (Members From Money Season Two Book 22)(24)
Author: Katie Dowe

“You dare to lecture me on how to speak to my daughter? Who do you think you are?”

“I am the man who is the father of two babies your daughter is carrying. I am the man who wants to make sure that Shelby is okay and free from all stressful situations.”

She got to her feet, her body rigid. “Get out of my house!”

Gray got up and stood there for a moment staring her down, his hazel eyes hard as flint. “Your daughter means a lot to me and I will do anything to make sure she is okay. You claim that you are a Christian and you are supposed to spread all this goodness and light, but you are doing the opposite. You put her through hell, Mrs. Fraser and yet she still managed to be the wonderful, warm and giving woman she is today. I have the utmost admiration for her and how she overcame all the adversities to make something of herself. She is strong and resilient, and she is going to make a damn good mother! You not being there for her at this time in her life is your loss.” He looked around the neat room and gave her a scathing look. “All this perfection is unnatural, and you need to look into yourself and realize that you need to make nice with your daughter before it is too late. I lost my parents and wish that they were still alive. Your daughter is here, and you have the opportunity to spend time with her. It is up to you, but I am telling you right now that I am not letting my children deal with this toxic situation.”

“You have no right- “

“I have every right!” he shouted, his eyes glittering. “You hurt her, and she spend nights crying and remembering what you put her through, and I cannot help her- “he dragged his fingers through his hair and took a deep breath. “Think about what I said, Mrs. Fraser.” He turned and looked around before walking towards the doorway with her following him.

“I love my daughter.” She said defensively when he opened the door and stepped out. He turned to look at her, his eyes steady on her face.

“Do you? Have you ever told her that?”

“She knows.”

“Does she?” he shrugged and stepped back. “If you really do love her, then show her.”

Chapter 10

“You went to my mother?” Shelby confronted him as soon as he came into the house. Her mother had called her furious that the man she was living with had come into her home and disrespected her.

“I almost did not expect her to call you so soon,” Gray said dryly as he hung up his jacket.

“Gray, I know you mean well but this is not your battle to fight.” She rubbed the small of her back, trying to ease the strain there. She had been trying to lie still and think good thoughts as well as listen to music, but it was not working. She was not used to inactivity and the few days were driving her crazy!

“Have you eaten?” he asked as he came towards her, his eyes scanning her face. He had come, expecting to find her in bed and not downstairs in the living room. He was contemplating hiring someone else to stay at nights.

“I ate and you are avoiding the question.”

He tilted her chin up to examine her face. “You look like you have not gotten any sleep. Did you?”

She gripped his wrist. “Gray, what did you say to her?”

“She did not tell you?”

“Not in so many words. She said you threatened her. Is that true?”

He lifted his brows. “Do I look like the type of person who would threaten a middle-aged woman? Especially the grandmother of my babies?”

“Gray!”

“Okay,’ he said with a sigh. “I just told her that she was missing out of the wonderful woman you are and how I hope that she would come around so that she would have the opportunity to be with her grandsons. Oh, and I told her that we were expecting boys.”

“Gray you should not have done that.”

“I could not help myself. How about we go upstairs.”

“Why?”

“I want you to get some rest.”

“I have been in the bed for the entire day.” She pointed out.

“I am tired so maybe you could watch me sleep.” He took her hand and led her towards the staircase.

Shelby went with him, feeling the incredible lump in her throat. No one had ever stood up for her like that before and she was so touched that she felt like crying, damn him! He led her into his suite and pushed the door open of his bedroom, leading her to the bed.

“Undress me.” He murmured as he stood before her.

“What?”

“Take off my clothes, please.”

She stared at him for a moment before she started to unbutton his shirt. “Too tired to do it yourself?” she asked as she pushed the shirt off his broad shoulders.

“Yes,” He breathed in deep as she spread her fingers over the white wool that covered his chest. “Take it off.”

She pushed the material up and he lifted his arms so that she could go on her toes and pulled it over his head.

He toed off his shoes and unbuckled his belt, pulling it out and hitting the floor with it. “The trousers.” He whispered. She unhooked it and pulled the zipper down. He helped her by stepping out of the legs and standing before her in his boxers, his erection evident.

“What now?” she whispered.

“Now I get on that bed and get some rest.” he said with a strained laugh.

“Really,” her tapered brows lifted as he went towards the bed and got on, putting his hands behind his head. “Okay,” with a shrug she took off the robe she had on to reveal that she was not wearing anything beneath it. “I could use some sleep as well.”

“I thought you were well rested.” He turned his head to look at her. His heart contracted as he stared at the bulge of her belly. The evidence that she was carrying his boys’ inside her.

“I am not so sure,” she murmured, flinching when he placed his hand over her belly. He bent his head and kissed it, feeling his sons, move the minute he did.

“Hey.” He whispered. “It is your dad and I cannot wait to officially meet you. Your mother and I are playing around with some very strange names, but I promise you that I am looking out for you because us fellows will have to look out for one another.”

“I have settled on Reginald and Joshua. Your dad and mine.”

He lifted his head and looked at her. “I like that.” He put his hand on her stomach. “No middle names?”

“Benjamin for Reginald and Anthony for Joshua.”

“Ben will be psyched.” He said with a smile. “And I had no idea you knew my middle name.”

“I did my research.” She ran her hand up and down his arm slowly. “And I think it is a nice name.” She trailed a finger up his arm and onto his shoulder. “Why did you go to my mother’s place?”

“I already told you.” He bent to kiss her belly, letting his lips linger. “I was just telling her some truths.” His hand went to open her legs so that he could slip his fingers inside her. She opened her legs to him, and he pressed further inside her. “How sweet you are when you are not being stubborn,” he went in further, thrusting slowly at first and then increasing the pace.

“Gray,” she whispered, her fingers digging into his arm.

“Hmm?” he bent his head to take a nipple inside his mouth, pulling on the sensitive teeth forcefully!
