Affinity (The Salvation Society)(66)
Author: Harlow Layne

His hands left my hair and moved to the swollen bundle of nerves between my legs. With one touch, I fell over the edge, throwing my head back in ecstasy, but Jenner didn’t stop his skilled caresses until he wrung every last bit of pleasure out of me. When I was finally coming down, I felt his dick pulse, and then his warmth filled me.

I was worn out from the amazing sex and could barely keep my eyes open. Jenner must have sensed this because he cradled me in his arms as he laid down on the bed with me spread out on top of him. With my head on his chest, I listened to the hammering of his rapidly beating heart.

Once our breathing had slowed, I rested my chin on my hands and looked up at him.

“I have something I want to tell you,” I said softly, while he drew a pattern on my back. He stilled and looked down at me, giving me all of his attention. “Earlier today, before the ceremony, I took a pregnancy test.” I bit my bottom lip as I waited for his reaction.

“It’s about damn time.” His eyes lit up with humor, and he let out a light chuckle.

“What do you mean it’s about time? I only waited for a few hours. How did you know when you haven’t been in our room all day?”

“Because I know this body better than the back of my own hand. Your beautiful breasts got bigger, fuller.” He cupped one exposed boob as if to accentuate his point. “And then you started getting emotional about everything, so . . . ” He shrugged like it was no big deal.

“So?” I got up on one elbow to look down at him. “What do you mean so? Were you ever going to fill me in?”

What if I hadn’t known? Would he have let me drink alcohol all the while knowing?

“Baby girl, you stopped taking your birth control, and I stopped wearing condoms. What did you think would happen? Are you unhappy about being pregnant?”

His brows furrowed, and he looked as if he was getting ready to get up and start pacing until I softly pressed on his chest to keep him where he was.

“I’m so unbelievably happy and scared all at the same time. I didn’t know how you’d take the news even though I know you’re going to be a great father to our baby.”

Jenner slipped out from underneath me to situate himself between my legs. I thought he was going to feast on me again, but he surprised me by placing a soft kiss on my belly.

“Hi, baby. It’s me, your daddy. I can’t wait to meet you one day soon. You’ve got the best woman in the world who’s going to be your mom, and I’m going to be the best dad I can be. I only hope it’s enough. I love you already.” Tears streamed down my cheeks at his words. “Don’t cry, baby girl.” With one last kiss to my stomach, Jenner moved up the bed and cradled me in his arms.

Kissing the top of my head, he asked. “I have a feeling I’m going to have to get used to your crying, aren’t I?”

I curled into him further. “I’m afraid so. I can’t even control it. I want you to know I have zero doubts about what an amazing father you’ll be.”

“We have so much to do before we become parents.” He cleared his throat, and I watched his Adam’s apple bob. “What do you think about the idea of moving?”

I knew it.

“I had a feeling you’d want to. Where are you thinking?” I asked, even though I already had a pretty good idea.

It wasn’t that I was opposed to living in Fairlane, but I was hoping we could be like Luke and Alex and keep our house in LA. I wasn’t sure I could stomach the cold after living in the sunny state for the last two years.

“I thought maybe I could convince Colton Patrick to let us buy one of the houses in the neighborhood he owns. What would you think about having Alex and Luke as neighbors?”

Alex and I had become great friends over the last two years. All the girls in her Fairlane crew had become like sisters to me and made me feel like part of their little family.

“It would be great, as would anywhere in Fairlane, but I’m going to miss our house and how tranquil it is.”

Pulling me closer to his body, Jenner hummed deep in his throat. “We can keep our house in LA. I’m sure there will still be movies I want to make, and they may take us there or anywhere in the world. But we can also build a house and make a new oasis. One that we both have a hand in making. What do you say?”

“I think you’re perfect, and I can’t wait to start the next chapter in our lives together.” I nuzzled into his chest and ran the tips of my toes up his calf.

His hand went to my thigh and started moving up agonizingly slow. “You stole the words right out of my mouth, baby girl.”
