Carrying Blaze's Mark(14)
Author: E.C. Land

“I love you too. Now it’s over and we can move on from it all,” I inform him as I lift myself up on my toes and give him a kiss.

“Fuck, woman, and the count down until I can fuck you again begins,” he grumbles. “Get to the room, Little Bird, and don’t think I’m letting you off the hook.”

Smiling at him, I shrug. “Didn’t intend for you to, but maybe you’ll hold off for six weeks.”

“Damnit, go take care of the boys, Raven,” he growls, his voice husky as he narrows his gaze on me.

Turning on my heel, I head back to the room where my little boys were sleeping. Thankfully I still had some diapers small enough for Mark to put on him, and some clothes.

This may not be how I wanted him to enter the world but I love him all the same.

I lie on the bed with the playpen next to the end of the bed on my side and the cradle directly beside it.

“My beautiful boys, I love you,” I murmur quietly and close my eyes to finally allow myself to sleep knowing they were both safe with me in our room.

Safe from harm and anything else that might go bump in the midst of the night.

“Raven, Mark looks as healthy as any newborn. I would advise he be taken back up to the hospital, but I already know your answer to that one. I’ll see if Lexton will come and take a look at him here,” Alverez says after examining my Mark and Matthew.

“You’re right I don’t want to take them to the hospital. Not after what happened. If Lexton would be willing to come here that would be great,” I say, taking a sip of coffee. I didn’t realize just how much time had passed or that I’d not slept since waking up the last time. Now with the sun being up and the clubhouse silent, I’m unsure of what to do.

Alverez’s friend came and took Momma B for us. We were going to prepare her a wonderful send off. Rage and his brothers got here at some point and I’d broken down once again when I saw him.

This was only two hours ago after waking up to fix Mark a bottle. I’d wanted to breastfeed him but I unfortunately am not able to produce milk. Alverez said it was normal for some women to not be able to.

Blaze had held on to me while Pitch Black took Mark from me as I sobbed yet again about losing Momma B. I asked Rage to forgive me. He’d been confounded by this until Bear spoke up and explained exactly what happened. Rage’s eyes seemed to glow with fire as his father told him how his momma was killed. The man tore apart the main room, tables were tipped over, chairs were smashed to pieces. My cries must have been heard as he’d turned to me, eyes full of pain. “You aren’t at fault, Raven. She was doing what she’s always done. Protected your child with her life. She’d have done it for anyone’s child. The people at fault will pay for what they’ve done and I intend to make sure they feel every little bit of what we all dish to them. Woman or man, I don’t give a flyin’ fuck.”

I simply nod to him and buried my face in Blaze’s chest. It was good to hear he didn’t blame me but it doesn’t mean I don’t feel the pain of it still. I probably will for a long while.

“I will give her a call before I leave here. As for you, missy, you need to take it easy for no less than a week. You need to decompress and not stress over anything as you take care of your boys. Oh, and let other’s help you along the way with it all.”

“I’ll do my best,” I murmur, my eyes sliding over to where Matthew was playing with his mega blocks and Mark sleeping swaddled in a blanket.

“You’ll do more than your best, you’ll damn well do it. Even if I have to sic Blaze on you and make sure he hovers over you for the entire time to make sure you do as your told,” Alverez chastises.

“Considering the people who caused everything that has happened are now done for, I don’t have to worry about them or about my sons being harmed,” I say being honest with my friend.

“That is good, now lay down and relax, watch a movie or something. I’ll come back later today and check on you.”

“Okay, thank you,” I murmur with a slight nod as he leaves the room.

Other than the brief moments which included my sob fest in front of everyone, I haven’t been out of Blaze’s and my room.

Flicking through the channels, I try not to think of what’s happening in the Pocket now that the women were let out of there and the monsters were taken down.

Sighing I close my eyes and drift inside my head.

“Don’t cry for me, Raven,” the familiar voice comes to me as a light shines around us.

Momma B.

“But I can’t help it, it’s due to me you are no longer here for your family,” I whisper.

“I’ll always be here for them, but I’ll tell you this, I would’ve died sooner than later. In a much more painful way,” she informs me.

“What do you mean?” I ask, confused by this information.

“I had found out recently I had stage 3 breast cancer and there was no saving me. The doctors gave me less than a year. I’d only just told Bear a few weeks ago.” Oh God. Either way we would have lost Momma B.

“I’m so sorry, Momma B. I wish this wasn’t the life for you.”

“But Raven, I’m okay. I’m finally with my daughter once again. I can sit with her and watch over my son and grandchildren along with you all as well. Be well, sweetheart, and remember your gift didn’t betray you. Fate is what it is and you have to let it be what it will.”

“Okay, Momma B.”

“Good. Now no more crying for me and you better tell them to play ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ when they lay me down to rest.”

Grinning I nod. “You got it. I’ll make sure it happens.”

“Love you, kid, now make sure to give that sweet boy a kiss for me,” Momma B says. Turning she vanishes back through the bright light blinding me.

Opening my eyes, I sit up to find I’m alone in mine and Blaze’s room with our boys. Lying on my back, I look up to the ceiling this time around not feeling an ounce of guilt for what happened to Momma B.

“Don’t worry, Momma B. I’ll honor your memory and so will the others,” I whisper quietly as to not disturb my boys.

Chapter Sixteen

Blaze

“What do you want to do with the monstrous cunts, Blaze?” Prez asks. We’d put them down in the Pocket along with the other men who were with them.

“They get treated like the monsters they are,” I declare, narrowing my eyes daring anyone to say anything different.

As expected, each and every one of the men in the room, nod their heads in agreement.

After we overtook them, Stoney sent a couple men to the Pocket to release the women, telling them to go into the gym and stay there for the time being. We all locked them down in the cages we have set to the side and went back inside. After Alverez’s friend came and took Momma B’s body to the morgue, we’d had the prospects clean up the area where she’d been lying, not wanting any of the women to see it. They didn’t need the sight of blood seared into their minds.

While my brothers settled their ol’ ladies and the clubwhores, I’d checked on Raven and taken a shower. Things got bad when Rage got to the clubhouse. Raven had a meltdown apologizing to him for her part in Momma B’s death. It wasn’t her fault, we all knew this and we needed to make sure she realized none of us had anything against her.
