Beautiful Deceit (Watch Me Burn #3)(9)
Author: R.E. Bond

I cupped his cheek and gave him a small smile, trying to keep him calm.

“He needs to see that you’re okay.”

“But I’m not.”

His shaky voice gripped my heart painfully, and I kissed him gently, not wanting to startle him.

“And that’s why we need to go and see him. We need to make this better. I’m coming with you, alright?”

Relief rolled through me as he finally nodded, letting me off his lap and following me out to the Corvette without argument, since he’d apparently walked there.

If he’d been as drunk as I thought he’d been, I was kind of glad he hadn’t driven.

We’d only just gotten to Jensen’s when Lukas bailed out of the car, almost knocking Jensen over by the mailbox as he kissed the life out of him.

Jensen stumbled but caught himself, putting his arms around him and pulling him close with relief all over his face.

I walked over and gave Jensen a small smile.

“Hey, Jense.”

“Come here,” he said softly, holding an arm out for me and pulling me into the hug.

I closed my eyes, opening them again when I felt eyes on me, finding Lukas watching me nervously.

“Rory, I…,” he started, his voice laced with pain.

I gave him a tiny smile and cut him off before he upset himself.

“It doesn’t matter. I’m going to head off, if you’ll be alright now?”

He winced, not believing that I wasn’t upset with him.

“You can stay, you know?” He replied, self-blame in his eyes as if he was the reason I was leaving.

“I know, but you guys need to seriously have a talk, and I have to go see Skeet.”

“Let me guess, crew business?” Lukas sighed, an edge to his tone.

I ignored it, reminding myself that he was afraid for me.

“Not really. I just need to talk to him about Slash and a few other things,” I shrugged, but my voice went quiet and they both gave me a look of pity.

Jensen spoke up as he kissed my forehead softly.

“Alright. Well, you come back if you need to, okay? I don’t care if it’s the middle of the night, you come back and climb into bed with us.”

“Okay,” I smiled, giving them both a quick kiss before climbing back into my car, driving straight to Skeeter’s.

I frowned when I pulled up in front of the house to find screamo music rattling the windows.

Skeeter liked almost any music, but that kind wasn’t one of his favorites.

I let myself inside, and About That Life by Attila hit my ears, making me frown even harder.

Skeeter fucking hated Attila, and he had always complained when Jensen played it.

I wandered through the house and was surprised to find Hunter on the couch, snorting a line of cocaine, while Skeeter and a few other Psychos sat around the room drinking beer.

Hunter was the first to notice me, and a flirty smirk instantly lit up his cheeky face.

“Hey, doll face. Come and keep my dick warm.”

Skeeter gave me a grin, tilting his head in Hunter’s direction to encourage me to play along.

I couldn’t keep up with his moods, seriously.

I padded over to Hunter, intending on sitting on his lap sideways, but he tugged me down to straddle him instead with a chuckle, burying his face in the crook of my neck.

His lips tickled the skin below my ear as he breathed me in, his hands tightening on my waist.

“You wanna fuck me yet, Donovan?”

Something was off about him, and it wasn’t until I met his usual playful brown eyes that I frowned.

He looked miserable behind his fake smile.

I ran my fingertips through his black hair, leaning closer to speak quietly.

“What happened? Something’s wrong.”

He tried hiding his problems even deeper inside himself, but his carefree smile didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“What do you mean? I just want to bone the hell out of you.”

“You want to fuck because you’re trying to cover up that something happened. Tell me.”

“Donovan, I’m fine,” he groaned, and something snapped inside of me for being kept in the dark.

“No, you’re fucking not!” I bit out, closing my eyes for a second to get control of myself, before meeting his gaze again. “Talk to me. I can see you’re hiding something from me. I thought I could trust you to be honest with me?”

He eyed me for a moment before standing, waiting for me to wrap both my legs around his waist before walking upstairs silently.

I was confused when he sat on Skeeter’s bed and encouraged me to straddle him again, cupping my cheek affectionately and running his thumb backwards and forwards across my skin.

“I’ve just had a long day. Soldiers are still around, and they didn’t have anything nice to say about you.”

“What did they say?”

The way he cringed made me scowl. “Damnit, Hunter. Just fucking tell me.”

“Fine. They said they were going to find you and rape you until you couldn’t walk, then they would do it again every single day for a week until you begged them to kill you. Then they’d keep going for a few more days before finally fucking you with a knife until you bled to death. I’m pissed because I couldn’t just gun them down in the street like I wanted to, I had to just put up with them disrespecting you like that. I’m supposed to protect you, Rory,” he spat out, his voice vibrating with anger.

My heart warmed at how much he cared about me.

His tormented eyes stared into mine as I ran my fingers through his hair to calm him as I spoke.

“That’s what they don’t realize. I don’t fucking beg. Don’t let their words effect you so much.”

“Rory, you can’t take them on. Not on your own,” he said desperately, but I just gave him a small smile.

“I’m not, but if they think I’ll just lay down and take it, they have another thing coming.”

He appeared frustrated for a moment before startling me with a kiss, tugging me forwards and fisting my hair hard.

I gasped as his tongue slid into my mouth and his hand pulled my hair harder.

God, I was becoming such a whore.

My nails dug into his muscular shoulders the rougher he became, until he suddenly flipped us over, breaking the kiss for a second to trail kisses across my throat.

His fingers blindly tugged at the bottom of my shirt, and I was surprised it didn’t rip from his desperation.

My eyes widened when I spotted Skeeter standing outside the half-closed door, watching us through the crack, but he put a tattooed finger to his lips and raised an eyebrow as if challenging me.

I hesitated when he motioned to keep going, before I finally reached for the bottom of Hunter’s shirt and lifted it over his head.

I was going to hell.

Hunter growled with approval, literally tearing my shirt from my body and yanking my pants and underwear down without a moment’s hesitation.

“You sure?” He panted as he tossed my clothes aside.

I discreetly glanced at Skeeter who nodded, so I gave Hunter a small smile, running my hands up his abs.

“Fuck me, pretty boy.”

His eyes flashed with want as he kicked his pants off and moved over me, and I gasped as he slammed into me without warning, swooping down to kiss me to swallow my moans.
