Drew (Cerberus MC #15)(28)
Author: Marie James

“You’re not watching her give birth, you fuckhead,” Rocker yells.

“I’ve seen it all before!” Jinx insists, his voice also echoing around the room from Jasmine’s phone.

There’s a scuffle coming from the phone making several of the guys standing around laugh.

“I’ll settle this while you get her settled,” Jasmine assures Camryn. “Take care of her, and I’ll be there in a few minutes.”

Camryn nods before disappearing with Simone.

“Listen, you two stubborn-headed mules,” Jasmine begins, looking down at her phone as she walks away.

“Complete chaos,” Drew says as he places his palm on my lower back and looks down at River. The child is still passed out, accustomed to all the action going on.

“Always chaos,” I agree.

Chapter 16

Drew

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t going to miss this.

My eyes skate over the room, watching several of the people arguing over who is going to get to meet Hound’s new baby first.

It’s all done in good fun, no one getting seriously upset on the order.

The idea of family never really crossed my mind. Making up my mind long ago that I didn’t want to bring children into this crazy, toxic world, I was happy with only having Lawson, and two brothers don’t make a family. Not like the one I’m witnessing now.

I coo down at a smiling River as Delilah playfully referees a game of shortest straw between Cannon and Lawson.

This is family, a group of people not even related, excited for the babies’ births. It calms me to know this is what Izzy will have. Although I won’t be here, she’ll have a group of people who love her to get her through. I take comfort in that knowledge.

“Is he awake?”

I look up to see Jasmine standing nearby.

“He is.” I smile down at the sweet little boy.

“Simone is ready to introduce him to his little brother.”

Three new little boys—two born and another on the way. This family is growing by leaps and bounds, not a one of them bitter about the growth. Nothing like the time when I was seven and Mom thought she was pregnant again. You’d think she’d been given a fatal cancer diagnosis. She didn’t even respond as dismally as she did when that actual cancer diagnosis came several years later.

“He’s perfect.”

A smile is on my lips before I even look up at Izzy.

“Dark hair like Dad’s. This perfect little nose.”

“What did they name him?” I ask as I stand, my arms instinctively going around her waist.

“Jameson of course. He’s a junior.”

“I bet your dad is so proud.”

“He can’t stop smiling. Gigi is a champ.”

I lean forward, ready to press my lips to hers when a throat clears beside me.

“We’re going to head out after Delilah gets in a quick visit. Charli came out and told us we need to disburse and come back again tomorrow,” Lawson informs everyone.

“Okay,” I say, unsure of why he’s telling me all this. “So you won’t get to meet the little guy tonight?”

“We’ll be back in a few hours,” he assures me. “I figured you needed a ride home. Izzy are you staying up here?”

Her hand flexes in mine.

“I think I’ll go home and get some sleep. I’m exhausted.”

Just her words remind me how damn tired I was hours ago at the clubhouse. She’s a good distraction, but I don’t know how I’m still standing right now.

“Sure.” Lawson looks from her back to me, but I ignore whatever he’s trying to convey.

The wait isn’t long. Delilah comes out grinning as wide as Izzy did, letting everyone know that Gigi is tired and Hound isn’t allowing anyone else in the room. I stick close to Izzy on the way out of the hospital, not even bothering to hide the fact that I want her close to me on the elevator. Lawson holds Delilah against his chest, his hand rubbing up and down her back. She’s happy, but that doesn’t make her pain any less. They want a baby so badly. They’re married and in love. They’ve done everything outdated standards tell them is the right path before starting a family, and yet they haven’t had their own dose of good news. It’s heartbreaking.

I press my nose to the back of Izzy’s head, feeling a little guilty for what I have.

“Do we need to stop anywhere for food?” Lawson asks as we leave the parking lot a few minutes later.

“I’m good,” Izzy answers.

“Let’s just go home,” Delilah says, her eyes focused out the passenger window. “We still have dinner waiting for us.”

The ride is silent, spent with Izzy’s fingers tracing over my hand and up my arm. It seems like an absent gesture, but she’s doing that wiggle she does when she’s turned on. I’ve seen it enough during dinner with her family to know exactly what it means. Despite the activities of the evening, of watching two women go into labor, she hasn’t forgotten what was in store for her in the conference room before her dad called.

It doesn’t take my head long before its riding shotgun on the very same train she’s on.

“I’m going to walk her home,” I tell Lawson as I help Izzy out of the back of the quad-cab truck.

“I don’t think—” He snaps his mouth closed when Delilah smacks him in the chest. “See you in a few minutes.”

“My house is empty,” Izzy whispers when we get far enough away from my meddling brother that he can’t hear.

“I know.”

“Are you walking me over or tucking me in?” Suggestion fills her words, and I’m hard because it takes even less than that to get me there these days.

“Wouldn’t want your feet to get cold. Probably need to make sure the blanket covers you fully,” I answer as we climb the front steps of her porch.

I’m tapping my fingers against the leg of my jeans as she takes forever to find the right key and get the damn thing in the lock.

By the time the front door is pushed open, I’m a man possessed. No sooner is it pushed closed do I have her pressed against it with my mouth on hers.

“Mmm,” she groans when I shift my mouth to lick along her neck.

“Don’t mind starting where we left off do you?”

My hands trace down her stomach as I lower my body.

“N-no. Remind me again.”

“My mouth on this pretty little pussy.” Without delay, I tug down her leggings. “Can you stand?”

“Y-yes,” comes her breathless response. I lift one leg over my shoulder, pulling her simple cotton panties to the side. “Maybe?”

“Hold on to me,” I urge, my lips an inch from her delicate flesh. “I’ll be quick.”

“Oh shit!” she screams when I dive in. “Drew!”

Fingers tangle in my hair, and although I’m only seconds into something I want to spend the rest of my life doing, I can already feel the tremble in her legs.

I don’t waste energy with filthy words. I don’t pull my mouth away to give her a moment of reprieve. I devour, lick, and suck on her until she’s pulsing against my mouth, her core playing the most erotic melody against my lips and tongue. Fuck, I kind of regret not doing this in the conference room. Having the video, knowing what her face looks like when she’s overcome with passion from my mouth is something I’d love to see.
