Diving in Deep (Bay State University #2)(56)
Author: Katie Holland

It was going to be a long flight with a couple of stops, but being in first class was going to make that so much better. About an hour after takeoff, we were served dinner then I put my headphones in and picked a movie while Anthony worked on his laptop.

Over the course of the next few hours, we changed planes, I slept, then we changed planes again. I watched the ocean out the window and when we started the descent to St. Lucia I could hardly sit still.

The small plane landed, and we were the first ones off. We were greeted by someone with a sign that said Pagano. After getting our luggage, we went with the sign guy to a car that was waiting for us. All I could do was stare out the windows as we drove through the island. It was so different from anything I’d seen before and I couldn’t wait to explore it. Eventually, the car pulled up to a house.

“Surprise number two,” Anthony said with a grin. “We have our own private villa.”

“Oh my God,” I said, and raced to the front door. It was open so I went right in.

It was exactly what I imagined a tropical vacation place would look like. Everything was white and dark wood. Light and airy came to mind. I came to a full stop when I saw the view out the living room windows. It was white sand and ocean as far as I could see. I turned back to Anthony with a grin that went from ear to ear.

“Surprise number three, we’re right on the ocean and have our own beach.”

I ran over and jumped on him. “You are so getting laid,” I said, with a laugh. “But seriously, Anthony, this is too much for words. Thank you.”

“Anything for my girl,” he said, and I swear I melted on the spot. “I know it’s late afternoon here, but what’s the first thing you want to do?”

“Can we eat? I’m starving.”

“Of course. Do you want to eat here or in town?”

“Here if you don’t mind. I’d like to look around this place then go out to the beach.”

“Sounds good to me.”

I watched as he took out his phone and made a quick call. There was a knock at the door and a man in a chef’s coat came in.

“Karma,” Anthony said, “this is Ricardo. He’ll be our personal chef while we’re here.”

Holy fuck, a private villa, our own beach and a personal chef. I felt like I was in one of those books Kayleigh reads because there was no way this could be my life.

“Are you okay?” Anthony asked.

“Yeah. I was just thinking how crazy this is for a girl from Oklahoma. It’s like a fairy tale.”

He wrapped me up in a hug. “You’d better get used to it if we’re going to be together. I like to spoil you and I have the means to do so.”

“I think I like the sound of that. I think I’ll go take a quick shower while Ricardo is cooking. See you in a bit.”

He smacked my ass as I walked away. After finding the bedroom where our luggage was placed, I walked into the huge en suite bathroom. I took a few pictures and shared them to Instagram. I was really happy there was cell service here so I could share my vacation with Kayleigh.

After a quick shower, I put on one of my new bikinis and threw on a cover-up. It smelled wonderful when I made it back to the kitchen. I finished watching Ricardo prepare our meal then we ate at the breakfast bar.

Anthony told me we also had a housekeeper who would take care of the dishes and laundry, so we didn’t have to worry about anything. He gave me a kiss and went to take his own shower. I went out the sliding glass doors in the living room and sighed when my feet hit the sand.

There were two lounge chairs facing the ocean. I slipped into one and of course took more pictures. A few minutes later I could hear someone come out the door.

“Excuse me Miss,” Ricardo said. “I’ve made you my special drink.”

“Oh, thank you.”

He set it down on the table that was between the lounge chairs. It was pink and frothy with a piece of pineapple on the side of the glass. I took a drink. I could taste some kind of alcohol in it, but it wasn’t overwhelming, and it was absolutely delicious,

“Ricardo, I think this is the best drink I’ve ever had.”

“Thank you. I’ve left a pitcher of it in the fridge and if you need more just have Mr. Anthony let me know.”

I took another drink and Ricardo left. I leaned back in the lounger and closed my eyes.

“I hope you have sunscreen on,” Anthony said a while later. “With your fair skin, you’ll burn to a crisp. That’ll suck for the rest of the vacation.”

“I do. Actually, I always do when I’m going to be in the sun.”

“Good. Enjoying yourself so far?”

“It’s more than I could have ever imagined, and we’ve only been here for an hour. I can’t wait to see more of this place.”

“Have you ever been snorkeling?”

“No.”

“I think you’ll love it. Maybe we can do that tomorrow.”

I grinned. “That sounds awesome.”

In the morning, I woke up to an empty bed, but the smell of food had me getting up and heading to the kitchen.

“Good morning sleepy head,” Anthony said, from the kitchen table.

“Good morning. What time is it?” I asked.

“10:30.”

“Holy shit, I never sleep that long. Must be jet lag.”

“You’re on vacation, so in my opinion, you can sleep as late as you want.”

I grinned. “Sleep is good, but I want to do everything we can while I’m here. I might not ever get a chance to come back.”

My stomach took that opportunity to growl. Before I joined Anthony at the table, I got myself some bacon and fresh fruit salad as well as a pastry that looked like it came straight from a French bakery.

“What would you like to do today?” Anthony asked me.

“Can we go back to town? I’d like to see the shops and see the local people. And I definitely need to get some souvenirs to take back with me.”

“Of course, we can. Just let me know when you’re ready.”

An hour later, we were walking down a sidewalk full of people. There were so many things to look at. Every little store front had someone outside trying to get you to buy what they had. In just a few blocks, I saw everything from expensive diamond jewelry to cheap floppy beach hats.

We shopped for two hours and I was glad I had found things for Kayleigh and my parents. I got Kayleigh a cute new bikini and matching set of pink sapphire earrings and a necklace that I knew she was going to love. It was my way of easing a little of guilt I felt at not going home to Tulsa with her.

After shopping, we went for a drive along the ocean. I was amazed at how different the turquoise water looked in St. Lucia from the navy-blue color it was back in California. When I said something to Anthony about it, he just smiled at me and told me he had an idea.

“Here we are,” he said, as we pulled into a parking lot.

“Where is here?”

“Al’s Glass Bottom Boat Tours.”

I grinned and got out of the car as fast as I could. I’d never been in a glass bottom boat and I couldn’t wait to see what it was like.

Anthony rented out the entire boat and the captain took us out. It was amazing to see all the fish and coral, but what put the trip over the top was that we stayed out to watch the sun set. I didn’t have words for how beautiful and romantic it was. When we got back, I rewarded Anthony with a blow job on our private beach.
