Falling for Dr. Kelly A Falling novel(9)
Author: DL Gallie

Poking my head into the bedroom, I thank the heavens when I see Flynn is still sleeping soundly. Quietly tiptoeing out, I quickly exit his room. My heart is racing and it feels loud, like a herd of elephants trampling through the safari park. Stepping into the living room, I find my dress by the sofa. Picking it up, I slip it over my head. Then the clean freak in me appears. Picking up his discarded clothes, I fold them neatly in a pile and place them on the coffee table. Bending down, I pick up my bra, grab my shoes and clutch, and exit his place.

As I wait for the elevator, I sigh in relief that I escaped without being caught. My mind is a jumbled mess right now, and I’m ever so thankful I don’t need to do the awkward morning/afternoon-after chitchat I’ve heard about. How do people do this all the time?

The elevator doors open and I press the button for the lobby. Shoving my bra into my bag, I slip on my shoes, and cringe when I realize I have no panties. I’ve just slipped my shoes on when the doors open to the lobby. Exiting, I race across marble floor, my heels clicking on the tiles loudly, basically announcing my walk of shame to the empty lobby, except for the concierge and doorman. Lowering my head down in mortification, I quickly race through the lobby and push the door open before the doorman can do it. Stepping out to the street, my heart is racing in my chest. I’ve never done the walk of shame before, and I don’t ever wish to feel like this again. Looking to the street, I smile when I see someone getting out of a taxi.

Smiling at them, I carefully climb in—don’t want a Britany vag flash—and give the driver my address. Sitting back in my seat, I rest my head against the headrest and let out the breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. Grabbing my phone, I call Cress. She picks up on the second ring. “Afternoon, hussy.”

“Morning,” I reply, as I glance at my watch and realize it's almost one in the afternoon.

“Sooo…” she prompts, “how was your night?”

“Good,” I say, as memories of last night play in vivid sexy high definition color in my mind, and my traitorous body zings with delight.

“Good, that’s all I get good?”

“Yep. I’m in a taxi on my way home right now.” Pausing, I purse my lips. I sigh and whine, “Cress—”

“I’ll be there when you get home.” I love that she knows what I need right now.

“Thank you,” I whisper, but she’s already hung up. I’m ever so grateful to have a friend like her because I really, really need her right now. I need her to help me compartmentalize everything that has eventuated in the last twelve hours.

Leaning back in the taxi, I close my eyes and then I lift my head and shoot upright. Holy shit, I had an out of this world one-night stand and then I snuck out. I’m such a whore. “Fucking hell,” I mumble, as I lean my head against the side window and close my eyes. I feel so dirty, so skanky right now, but at the same time so alive and liberated.

Doubt starts to creep in, maybe I shouldn’t have snuck out like I did but really, what other choice did I have? It’s not like I’ll ever see the sexy as sin doctor again.

With a smile on my face, I open my eyes and reach out to the side. I need to hold her against me as I wake up, but I’m met with nothing. My hand feels a cold sheet beneath it, turning my head to the side, I frown when I see the bed empty. She must be in the bathroom, I think to myself when I see the door closed. Lying back down, I stare at the ceiling and find myself grinning from ear to ear. Last night was beyond my wildest dreams amazing. I’ve slept with a lot of women but Avery Evans, fuck me, she strides to the top of the list.

It’s been a while now, and she hasn’t returned. “Avery?” I call out as I sit up in bed. Walking naked to the bathroom door, I knock. “Ave lass, are you okay?” Again I’m met with silence, pushing the door open I find it empty. Turning around, I walk into the living room and find it empty. Stepping around the sofa, I see her dress is gone, and my clothes are folded neatly on the coffee table. And then it hits me, she snuck out. “Motherfucker,” I groan, running my hands through my hair. Dropping down to the sofa, I rest my elbows on my knees and dejectedly sigh. She didn’t seem like the person who would fuck and chuck, then again, I know dick all about her. Sure we chatted before falling asleep in the wee hours of the morning, but the topics we discussed were nothing serious.

Leaning back into the sofa, I smile as a vision of Avery riding me in this exact spot last night flashes before me. I can still smell her pussy, her sweet sweet pussy. My cock hardens thinking about her taste. My mouth waters and I imagine the sounds she made when she came. “Fuuuuck!” I growl as I grip my cock and begin to stroke. The sound of her purring like the sex kitten she is plays over and over on a loop in my mind. My grip on my cock tightens, my tugs hurried, and soon I’m spraying cum all over my stomach.

Collapsing back onto the couch, I lie here breathing heavily and think about the dark-haired angel who got away. Heading back into my bedroom, I climb into the shower and wash the remnants of my self-love away. Climbing out, I dry off and decide to head back to the Tavern, maybe she’ll be back there for a quiet beverage to end the weekend.

Calling Preston, he agrees to meet me there in an hour.

An hour later, I walk in and my eyes dart around the bar, but my raven-haired beauty isn’t here. Preston is and he’s got a grin on his face. “Hey,” he says, as I sit across from him. Picking up his drink, I slam it back. “Rough night?” he cheekily questions.

“Amazing night. Rough afternoon.” I reply, flagging down the waitress, I order myself a beer and another scotch for Preston.

“That’s two extremes.”

“That’s how the last eighteen hours have gone.”

“Huh?”

“Last night and this morning were amazing with Avery. We clicked, and not just between the sheets.” I take sip of beer the waitress just delivered. “Well, I thought we clicked. When I woke up just after lunch, she was gone. No note. Nothing. The only reason I knew she was there was because she folded my clothes and left them on the coffee table.”

“Huh?”

“Before she left, she folded my clothes that were left in the living room last night.”

“At least she’s neat,” he teases, as he takes a sip of his drink.

“Not what I’m focusing on at the moment.” Then it hits me, he was with her friend last night, “How did you go last night?” He shrugs his shoulders. “What does that mean?”

“It means I looked after the friend like you requested.”

“Aaaaand?” I probe.

“And nothing. We had a drink after you guys left and then I dropped her home.”

“Really? You didn’t fuck her?”

“Nope, my dick stayed in my pants. By the sound of things, you had enough sex for the both of us last night and this morning.”

Shrugging, my mind once again drifts to last night, especially when my eyes gravitate toward the hallway to the restrooms. Vividly, what went down between us in the alcove flashes before my eyes.

“So what are you going to do?” His question stumps me.
