Devil's Ride : A Dark MC Boxset(110)
Author: E.C. Land

After checking my ID bracelet, the nurse lifts my son and hands him to me. “He’s such a sweet boy. Let me know if you need anything. I’m sure he’s about ready to eat.”

“Thank you,” I murmur, taking my eyes off my son long enough to show the nurse my appreciation.

The moment the door closes behind her, I run a hand alongside my son's face.

Holy shit.

He’s the most beautiful baby I’ve ever seen.

“So, you want to answer my question?” Tinsley asks.

Lifting my gaze to meet Tinsley’s I find her smiling down at Cody.

“My brother is a very controlling person and doesn’t want me to have my baby.” My heart lurches a little at the shock that crosses her face as I go on to tell her everything. I must really be losing it to tell her everything and I mean everything from my brother and Sam to what they had me do for Raynor.

“You mean to tell me, your brother, your own flesh and blood refuses to allow you to keep your child. What do they think, it’s the eighteen-hundreds?” she sneers.

“That about sums it up,” I murmur putting my gaze back on Cody.

“What do you want to do? I can tell you don’t want to lose your son.” I really don’t, he’s beautiful and precious, deserving everything this world could give him. But Mason would kill him if I didn’t give him up.

“I need to get him to his father.” I murmur, tears filling my eyes yet again.

“Do you have any way of contacting him?”

Closing my eyes, I shake my head vigorously. “No, I don’t know his name.”

“How would you get your baby to him then?” she asks.

“I know what club he’s with,” I sigh.

“Club?”

“Motorcycle Club.”

“Ahh. Okay so what if I took you to this club? Maybe he’ll let you stay,” she suggests.

“I highly doubt that, I don’t even think he knows who exactly I was when we slept together,” I mutter. “Besides, Mason has at least one or two of his men watching the hospital, you know in case I tried to run away after leaving here.”

“God, I hate this mess for you. Where is this club that Cody’s dad is with?” Tinsley asks.

“In Virginia, why?”

“I might not be able to do much but there are a couple things. I can call my cousin. Have him help me get Cody to his father for you until we can get you out of the clutches of your brother.” Tinsley suggests.

“You would do that for me? You don’t even know me?” I argue.

“I have a talent for knowing good people when I see them. And you, Milley, are a good person who has been handed a shit hand in life. It’s time you are able to live your life without the pain.”

“Umm, thank you but . . .”

“No buts. I want to help and if this is the only way I can then it’s what I’ll do. Do I wish I could help you get away from your brother’s men? Yeah definitely. But from what you described; they’ll have you before you even got out of town.”

Ain’t that the truth.

Before I can respond, the door to my room bursts open and my eyes widen in fear as not only Mason storms into the room, but Sam as well. Great.

“Hey, Mills, how you doing?” he asks with a fake as hell smile on his face when he sees Tinsley sitting next to me.

“Umm.”

“You okay, baby?” Sam asks, coming to stand close to the bed putting a hand on my shoulder and squeezing his fingers into it.

“I–I was just talking to Tinsley about putting the baby up for adoption,” I blurt out wanting to protect the woman. She doesn’t need to be caught up in this mess.

“Nonsense, baby. We’ll bring him home. When do you two get to leave here?” Confusion fills me at the way they are acting.

What’s going on here?

“She’ll be here for at least two more days,” Tinsley states as she stands up from where she’d been sitting next to me.

“Well, we’ll be back when it’s time for you to come home. Just wanted to check on you and make sure you were good.” Mason says before leaning toward me, acting like he was going to hug me. “Just because I said that doesn’t mean you get to keep the kid. I intend to sell him and have a buyer lined up.”

My heart sinks to the pit of my stomach at what Mason just said.

No. No. No. Please God, no.

The moment they leave the room, I glance over at Tinsley. “I need to get him out of here. ASAP,” I say, tears burning as I try my hardest to hold them back.

“Don’t worry, we’ll get him and you to safety. I promise. This is what I want you to do. Go ahead and write a letter to Cody’s dad. I’m going to call my cousin and see what he can do. If he can’t get you both out of here tonight, I’ll take Cody and run him to his dad. Just tell me where I’m going. Okay?” At Tinsley’s calm soothing voice, I try to get a hold of myself. But the thought of never seeing my son again, is ripping my heart from my chest.

Nodding, I lift Cody in my arms to kiss his forehead. “Don’t worry sweetie, Mommy is only trying to protect you.”

Tinsley moves toward the window and pulls her phone out of her pocket. A moment later she puts the phone to her ear and waits. “Hey, Grigory, I’m sorry to bother you but I need your help with something.”

Chapter Three

Coyote

“Hey, brother, you ready for this party tonight?” Ranger asks as he flops down in the chair next to me in the main room of the clubhouse.

I’d only just gotten in after going down to visit Twister’s club for a week. I swear since Izzy had Mercy, I spend a lot of time there.

What can I say? I love that kid and intend to be the uncle that Chase would have been to all of Izzy and Twister’s kids.

Tonight, though, I'm glad to be back at my own clubhouse. My brothers, Venom and Whip, were finally coming home for good. They had finally gotten out of the Army. With them having been stationed down in Texas, it was easier for them to be Nomads rather than have a home charter. But now that they’re out, the both of them say it's time to lose the Nomad status and be around brothers of the club again.

Shit, several of our brothers who’d been down there with Venom and Whip decided to head to Twister’s charter instead of here, wanting to be closer to the beach. Stoney had given them the choice of which club they’d wanted to go to. We have another brother, Viper, who will be joining us later this year when his enlistment is up.

“Fuck yea, brother, I’m more than ready,” I grin. Not only will booze be flowing, but clubwhores and strippers from Dolly’s Playhouse will be here. I’m hoping to find two or three to occupy my time. Since coming back from Greenville, I can’t seem to take just one woman to my bed. They don’t ever satisfy the need that’s grown inside me. That’s why I have more than one that I fuck until I’m to the point of exhaustion and pass the fuck out soon as I tell them to kick rocks.

“I hear the new bitch from Dollhouse, what’s her name, is gonna be here tonight,” Ranger chuckles, lifting his beer to his mouth.

“Oh shit, she’s damn good on the pole. I saw her dance a couple days before I left for Twister’s clubhouse, and I thought she was going to make every fuckin’ dude in the audience blow a load in their pants,” I say.
