Possessed by Passion(439)
Author: Bella Emy

“What are you doing?” I asked pulling myself up.

“Documenting. One day, people will want to know how this little witch became the queen of Hell, and I plan to have a damn good story to tell.”

I laughed. “Alright. Well your majesty. What’s on your agenda today?”

She closed her laptop and stared at me.

“I have no idea. What am I supposed to be doing?”

“Don’t ask me. You have the power.” I smirked.

She walked over and leaned over me, kissing me deeply.

“Maybe we should just stay in bed for a bit.”

“I like that plan.” I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her down onto the bed as I moved on top of her.

“Eventually I would like to marry you, but maybe wait until things settle?” she asked between kisses.

“Whatever you think is best. You tell me when and where, and I’ll be the one at the end of the aisle waiting for you.”

She smiled and nodded.

Chapter Twelve

Kassandra

Months had passed since I became queen, and I wasn’t truly prepared for everything that came along with it. Lela and I communicated almost daily, but I knew she was feeling off. So was I. After watching our mom go off with Roderick, I had no idea if I would ever see her again, but I have had this feeling for months. A feeling that something wasn’t settled and there was more to come.

Theo could feel it too, but he didn’t say anything. One thing I loved about being a witch in my position was that I could easily read emotions of anyone who came in contact with me. Something I’ve never shared with anyone. It was one of the best kept secrets that I held onto.

I looked down at the ring Theo gave me that night. The night my world changed. The night I allowed my destiny to take over. Who knew that tattoo would change my world the way it did? I never expected that it could be demonic, and I sure as hell never expected to be in Hell. I prayed every day to see my mother again to ask questions and to get the answers I still wanted. Why me? Why did things turn out that way? Did she die because it was my destiny? All of these questions were still unanswered, and it killed me not to know the truth.

“Lela, what are you doing here?” I asked my sister who appeared in front of me as I walked the corridor of Hell.

“I need your help,” she breathed.

Panic set in. “What’s wrong?”

She shook her head. “There is something after me. After us. And I think I know what it is.”

“Well spit it out girl!”

“Tim,” she whispered.

I shook my head. “No. We killed him.”

“I don’t think we did. I received a strange message.”

I held onto her shoulders. “We’ll fix this. But first, I think you need to go see our neighbor.”

She nodded. “And then?”

“And then we fight like we were born to do.”

“But your position?” she asked.

“No one said that I couldn’t get my hands dirty once in a while. You do your thing. Call me when you are ready. I’ll make sure things down here are taken care of.”

She nodded and disappeared. She definitely got the hang of that better than I did.

I back tracked to my room. The thought of getting into a fight excited me. I couldn’t wait to get back out there and dish out some pain. I laughed to myself. That must be the fighter in me, or maybe the demon in me. Either way, the idea of fighting had my body tingling and my blood moving faster.

This time would be different though. This time, I didn’t need to fill my body with rage and hate to bring my powers to the surface.

The powers rose just by me thinking of them, and I couldn’t be more excited to test out a few new powers I’d discovered over the past couple of months. It was highly frowned upon to kill your own.

“I kissed the photo of my parents as I pulled my hair back into a ponytail.

“Thanks for this.” I smiled at them.

Epilogue

Lela

I sat outside on the porch watching the cars go by. Colt was in Hell doing whatever demons did. Kass was leading a whole world full of demons, and I was here. Alone on Earth.

“Lela,” Colt’s voice pulled me from my thoughts.

“What are you doing here?” I asked standing to face him.

“I made a deal with the queen of Hell. I would watch things on Earth for her, and she wouldn’t need to surface as much.” He winked.

“By things, you mean me?”

He nodded.

“How’s she doing?”

“Good. It’s a process, but the king of Hell is showing her the ropes.”

I shook my head. “You know, I never expected anything like this would happen to us. My sister turning into the queen of Hell, my father dying. My mother being in love with a demon. And now here I am. Following in her footsteps.”

He smiled. “You love me, huh?”

“Maybe a little.”

“You know, you aren’t bound to Earth.”

“I know that. But I feel like I need to be here. You know? Like there is still so much I don’t know about myself and my powers that I should know.”

“I hear there is a place to go for that.”

A smile spread across my face. He was right. There was a place I could go.

“I’ll be here when you get back.” He leaned in and kissed me.

I walked down the street from the house and stood outside the home that drew me in.

The woman on the porch laughed.

“Hello, Lela. I’ve been waiting for you.”

“Kass mentioned that you could help me.”

She motioned for me to come up to her.

“Let’s get some tea.”

I followed her inside and back toward the kitchen. For some reason it felt familiar to me.

“Have a seat,” she said as she walked to the two steaming cups on the counter.

She brought them over to the table.

“Kass is a very smart woman,” she noted.

I nodded. “She is.”

“So, you want to know what you are to do next.”

I nodded.

“There are many things about you and your sister that neither of you know yet.”

“Kass the queen of Hell. I think she’s found her purpose in life.”

“But you. You aren’t part demon.”

I shook my head.

“You are, however, the light.”

“Come again?”

“With darkness comes light. You and your sister have destinies unlike any other magical family.”

“I’m not sure I understand.” I sighed taking a sip of tea.

“You see, Kass is the darkness. She’s not evil, but she controls it. You control the light. Not exactly Heaven, but what light represents. You two are the two puzzle pieces that are needed in this world.”

“What does that mean for me, though?”

“It means, you better start learning how to harness your powers because you are going to need them.”

I sucked in a breath. “What am I to do?”

“Get angry. Harness that emotion. Let’s practice.” She smiled.

She and I sat there for twenty minutes while I destroyed parts of her house.
