As for the story itself, I really wanted to return to the mythos I created in “Rampion”, but I also wanted to write a book set on modern day Earth, and also visit a whole new world I had created that still had a little “magic” around it. I love sci fi, but sometimes, I miss writing fantasy, so I figured this story would be a good way to get a little of both into the story. If you aren’t familiar with the name Draku Rin, he is a side character from my book “Rampion,” belonging to the ajda-yan species, also known as “dragon-men” by most humans. For good reason, as you see in this book! :D Any time I can work a dragon into a story is a good time for me, because dragons were my first love, and my most enduring!
The yan-kanat themselves were inspired by conspiracy theories about the lizard people (of course, ;) ) and also my love of anthropomorphic lizards. If you’ve noticed that a lot of my alien species are “scaly,” now you know why. :D Why do I love them so much…? Well, I’ll refer you back to the fact that my first loves are dragons, lol.
I still have plans for future books that are direct sequels to “Rampion,” and some of those books will feature the Ajda (aka, ajda-yan), including Bal Goro (aka, the Overlord of the ajda-yan). I also want to feature some of the AI infiltrators, and I even have ideas for the titans themselves (those are gonna be so fun, and are also some of my more experimental works, as I have taken inspiration from Lovecraftian horror for the titans in my books). However, I am not going to make any promises at this point, because I really don’t want to let anyone down by not meeting those promises. Let’s just say that the ideas are there, and in some cases, the outlines are also there. Hopefully, someday, I will feel the inspiration to finish these stories!
Until then, I am playing around with a couple of different manuscripts, and I can say that one of them is the sequel to this book, which will be Kevos’ story (if that wasn’t clear by the end of this one. ;) ) I know. He’s a jerk. But reforming the antagonist from previous books is one of my favorite romance tropes, and I couldn’t resist it with this particular character.
