Namesake (Voiders #1)(18)
Author: Marie Harte

She raised a brow.

“We’ll make your ass reaming happen sooner rather than later. Wherever I find you, you’ll drop and give it to me. Hear me?”

Her jaw dropped and her eyes widened, first with incredulity, then fury. “You son of a bitch.”

“See you soon.” He shut the bathroom door on her fuming face and looked sorrowfully at his cock, which only grew harder when Vicki turned on the rage. Sorry, beast, more sex will have to wait. Knowing our Conduit, she can hold on to a mad for an entire day. Damn. I think Eric might be right about me turning human. I think I’m falling in love.

Chapter Sixteen

Vicki stared at the closed door in horror. Being taken in the ass wasn’t something she looked forward to, but if he caught her here on the property… Taken in front of a group of sexually starved Voiders wasn’t her idea of a good time. If only she could put a lid on her horny libido, because a part of her wanted everyone to know Eric and Dom desired her.

How sick am I? And how the hell is Ravager nookie going to bring me the husband and kids I want? This is so not the path to happily ever after.

She shrugged off her weird sex cravings and wondered what the hell to make of this morning—from her threat in the conference room, where she felt she’d actually gained some ground—to becoming a Ravager plaything in a hot sixty-nine she wanted to do all over again.

How the hell would she be able to go back to normal sex with human men after this?

Just thinking about deep-throating Dom again, or heaven help her, Eric, made her wet. And when the hell had she become so gifted at sucking cock? Yet she’d taken Dom like a pro. Vicki’s face felt on fire. Had to be Ravager pheromones.

She’d been dreaming about Eric and Dom when Dom had intruded on her innocent enough fantasy. From walking in the woods with two handsome men to having her nipples sucked. Not a bad way to wake up, she thought with a grin. But her smile faded as she recalled how hungry Dom had made her, how easily he’d breached her control and owned her emotions.

Bad enough the sex kept getting better. But she’d swear she felt an alien resonance deep within her. A wildness she’d sensed in Ravagers before, but that she could now feel purring within herself.

Crazy talk. Or was it?

Dom stepped out of the bathroom naked, his slick blond hair darker when wet. In no hurry, he donned a pair of boxers, jeans, and a shirt. To distract herself from jumping him again, she blurted, “Why are you blond?”

He ran a comb through his hair. “Genetics.”

“Duh. I meant, why are you fair when most of the clan is dark? You’re the only blond I’ve seen, and Eric is the only one who doesn’t have brown eyes.”

Dom nodded and stood. “Yes. That blue is distinctive, isn’t it? He’s from a very strong line of Ravagers back home. My family has always been different. We’re all light, all a little weird too.”

He smiled, but he felt odd, almost sad, and she didn’t like it. She changed the subject. “How come you guys don’t go around all day in Ravager form like those outside town? The Lawless clan, right?”

His gaze narrowed, and he dug his toes into thick carpeting.

Come to think of it, none of the Ravagers she’d seen yesterday had worn shoes. How bizarre.

Dom nodded to the door, and they left.

Outside his room, he answered her. “Nev Lawless is a bastard who should never have been allowed off the homeworld. His family killed and oppressed more Ravagers than any humans or Watcher groups ever have.”

She frowned. “I thought the Watchers were just urban myth.”

“I wish.”

She followed him downstairs and sat with him in the kitchen, where Rule once again toiled behind the stove, this time in a rumpled Grateful Dead t-shirt.

Dom didn’t have to ask. Rule slid a plate of steak in front of him.

“Steak for him, pancakes for the rest of us?”

Rule rubbed his hands together. “For the prime’s consort, steak’s the least of what I can do. How about a filet rolled in bacon and peppercorns? A nice cornbread dressing on the side?”

For lunch? “Forget I said anything.” She turned back to Dom, ignoring Rule’s comment about the “prime’s consort.” She needed to know more about the Voiders determined to keep her. “So, Dom, what do you do around here?”

Rule snorted. “Do? He eats. That’s what he does.”

Dom chuckled and continued to do just that. “Rule’s just jealous because I’m prettier than he is.”

“Dick.”

“Ass.” Dom smiled at Vicki. “My job is simple. I take care of the prime.”

“Your king. Eric.”

“That’s him.”

“He needs constant care? What, like a two-year-old?” she asked waspishly.

Dom frowned, but she saw Rule try to hide a grin as he turned back to his stove.

Dom growled, “He’s going to need to beat that stubborn out of you.”

“Him and what army?” she dared. Beat her? Not if they wanted to live to see tomorrow. Her energy seethed, wanting an outlet.

“Prickly little thing, aren’t you?” Dom teased. Instead of insulting, his tone sounded admiring. Then she recalled how he and the others had encouraged her to fight. Maybe if she played meek and submissive, they’d lose interest.

“If you say so.” She had to grit her teeth to sound meek. No way she could pretend, not for a minute. “Jackass.”

Dom snickered. “Can’t do it, can you? Nice isn’t in your vocabulary.”

“Oh, I don’t know. I was pretty nice to you earlier,” she said in a throaty voice, one that had Dom’s brown eyes darkening to black. She noticed Rule’s sudden attention as well. The shift in power pleased her, and she grinned. “Now what were you saying about having to bottle feed and burp your prime?”

Dom scowled. “That’s not funny, damn it. Rule, you laugh, so help me, I’m shoving your head through that vent.” He turned to Vicki. “And you, I think it’s time you realized just where you are and who you’re with.”

“I know who I’m with. I’m with a bunch of Ravagers on a Monday afternoon, when I’m supposed to be home with Gran for dinner tonight. I need a phone. Right now,” she added when Dom just stared at her as if she’d grown another head.

“Look, my great-grandmother is ninety-six years old, and a bigger pain in the ass you’ve never met in your life. I love her to pieces, but if I don’t show up for dinner, she’ll skin me alive. The woman is scary, trust me.” A monstrous mind is a terrible thing to waste, Gran liked to say, just before dangling her naughty great-grandchildren in the air with a thought. Prognostication, telepathy, telekinesis, Gran could do all manner of things with her mind, and she had no problem demonstrating her displeasure with any of her family when the notion hit. It was lucky the old woman loved them all too much to ever cause harm.

“I’ll talk to her for you,” Dom said smoothly. “No need for her to worry when she doesn’t see you for a while.”

Vicki snorted. “Good luck with that. The woman is like a dog with a bone. Something else you have in common.” Insulting her kidnapper by referring to him as a dog wasn’t smart, but she wasn’t pleased with the reminder she couldn’t leave the compound. She just had to figure out why her energy wasn’t working the way it should. She’d put the pack on their asses at that bar. So how the hell had they used it against her here?
