Tangled Sheets(23)
Author: J.L. Beck

“See, here we go. Pot calling the kettle again.”

“No, William, this is not the same thing.”

“How is it not? Bottom line, you and I are sleeping around with women in the office. I mean, what can a person expect? It’s like being a kid in the candy store. When you are constantly surrounded by candy, pretty soon, you’re going to have a taste. A man can only follow the rules and behave for so long. The temptation is too much to bear. And besides, where else are we supposed to find women to date? We spend all of our time at work.”

“You have valid points. As a man, I understand your thought process. However, we cannot put the company at risk like that. It’s too dangerous and irresponsible. We’ve all worked too hard to let our dicks be the reason that it all comes crashing down. You want to keep your secretary as your lover, then fire her.”

“That’s a good idea, but I don’t know.”

“Well, you better figure it out. And for the record, our situations are not the same.”

Thomas quietly looks on as William and I argue our cases.

William and Thomas get up to leave, but before they walk out of the door, I ask them to join me in performing our childhood pact routine and promise to keep this debacle between the three of us. All of us stretch out our hands, one on top of the other. We raise our hands and say, “All for one and one for all,” and then blow a kiss in the air.

Now that my brothers are gone, I can take a minute to relax, reflect, and figure out how I’m going to deal with Riley. Hell, I will have all weekend to think about it. Sure, I am having her moved to another project, but that does not change the fact that I still want her... bad. Monday can’t get here fast enough.

Finally, Monday has arrived. I awaken to beaming sunlight peeking through my windows. I’m anxious to get to the office to talk to Riley, so I get up, get myself together, and head out for the day. I can only hope she’ll show up at work today, though I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t.

I walk through the building and see that everyone is back at the office, including Riley. I continue walking past employees and go directly into my office. My secretary calls into the intercom and asks if I am ready for my coffee. I tell her I will get it myself today. Walking around in the common area will give me a better opportunity to run into Riley.

To my surprise, my plan works. A few minutes later when I walk into the common room and find her standing at the coffeepot, pouring herself a cup. Walking over to her slowly, I reach for the pot once she’s done and pour myself a cup of the regular, while she purposely ignores me.

“We need to talk, Riley,” I whisper.

“We have nothing to talk about.”

“Like hell we don’t!”

Riley storms out of the common room with her coffee in hand and without a word said. I immediately give chase, but try not to be overly obvious. She proves too fast for me and ducks into her office before I can catch up with her. When I notice a couple of people staring in my direction, I regain my composure and calmly walk back into my office.

I buzz my secretary and tell her to have Riley come to my office to show me her progress on the interior plans for the upcoming project. Within minutes, there is a knock at my door.

“Come in.” My voice fills the quiet room.

Standing poised with her portfolios, swatches, and magazines in hand, Riley enters the room. I point to the chair on the other side of my desk.

“Please, close the door and have a seat.”

A hint of annoyance fills her features. Nevertheless, she comes in and sits down. We sit quietly at first. The crotch of my pants bulges. It’s getting hard just from having her this close to me. She must be feeling the same thing because I can see the fast and heavy motion of her chest rising, her thighs rub together, and I wonder what she’s thinking about. It’s kind of humorous to watch her sit over there, squirming. I wonder if her pussy is getting wet. I bet it is.

“Riley…”

“Look, I need this job, Mr. Brooks. I have worked my ass off to get where I am, and I cannot afford to allow myself to get carried away in an office fling with you, only to have you snatch it all away with the swipe of your pen.”

“Riley, I would…”

She raises a hand, stopping me from finishing what I want to say. “No, let me finish. If it were just me I had to think about, I might do it, but it’s not. I have other people that depend on me.” I really hope it’s not that wimpy boyfriend of hers she is talking about.

“Well, I’m trying to help you. Let me help you.”

She shakes her head, her silky brown hair cascades down her back like a waterfall. “No. For one, you wouldn’t understand.”

“Try me,” I counter.

She goes silent, and I figure this is my chance.

“Well, what about your boyfriend? Russ, Ross, or something like that, right? Is he really your boyfriend? Because frankly, he seems more like your gay best friend instead of your boyfriend.”

She laughs a little and I can see her guard slipping.

“Seriously, you picked right now to ask about my date?”

Finally, I’m making some progress. Riley closes her eyes and shakes her head.

“Okay, look. Ross is my best friend, not my boyfriend. And yes, he’s gay, and I only made him come to the party with me because I wanted you to believe that I was taken. Not only that, I didn’t want everyone else to know that I was single.”

My jealousy instantly disappears, and now I’m more annoyed than anything. “Next time, try to pick someone who can play the role better. We could all tell that Ross was gay.”

“Really? He worked so hard on his ‘straight man’ act. He practiced in my mirror for hours.” Riley giggles. Her sudden light-heartedness is infectious. We both smile at each other, her gaze bleeding into mine with longing and affection.

As if she can hear my thoughts, she suddenly snaps out of it. She wipes the smile from her lips and replaces it with a tight line. Sitting up a little straighter, she clears her throat.

“We need to address what has happened between us and how we are going to act moving forward. As far as I’m concerned, nothing is going on between us now, and there will be nothing happening between us in the future.”

I raise an eyebrow at her words. “You really think so? Because I’m thinking that every time you see me, you get wet remembering me pounding into your pussy. Because if I’m being honest, every time I’m around you, I’m reminded of how tight your pussy is, how hard you clench me when you come, and how gorgeous you look falling apart. Right now, my dick is aching to be inside your tight cunt, and I don’t think this attraction between us will go away soon. Tell me I’m wrong. Look me straight in the eyes and tell me you are not wet right now and you can walk out of this room and we will both pretend like the other never existed.”

The words are sitting on the tip of my tongue. I want to tell him what he wants to hear so badly. I want to tell him to fuck off and that he has no hold over me, but that would be a lie. Because the truth is, he’s right. I am wet for him. I crave him. I can’t stop thinking about the sex, and given the chance, I would do it again and again.
