Tangled Sheets(370)
Author: J.L. Beck

London thought about the offer. A month ago, he wouldn’t have hesitated. Part of their job was to smooch up to clients and ensure they had everything they would need for them to sign a contract.

Now, partying on a yacht didn’t sound too appealing to him.

“Do you need help pulling the client?”

If Brad needed him to help close the deal, then he would go. He and Jaxon were always supportive of their agents, and if they needed to be involved to ensure contracts were signed, they would be there. Their agents’ success was theirs.

“Naw, I got it. Manny Lopez will be signing one of the biggest contracts in the baseball league thanks to me.” Brad’s voice was muffled while he spoke to someone next to him. “Anyway, I didn’t know if you’d want to celebrate with us.”

“I’m going to pass tonight.”

It was out of the norm for him to turn down celebrating with clients of his company, but tonight, he didn’t want to party. He wanted to spend time with a certain woman who was currently avoiding him.

“All right, man. See you Monday?”

“Yup. Have a great time. Make sure videos get recorded so marketing can put it out on social media.”

Most of the younger athletes had a big presence on social media, and PSM had to have one too. He wanted to make sure his company stayed in sight of all athletes, especially ones that would be going pro.

“Will do.”

Disconnecting the call, London tossed his phone on the cushion next to him. Running his hands over his face, his ears perked up at the faint sound of a conversation out in the hallway.

Bolting from the couch, he jogged over to door, ignoring how out of character this was for him.

London Keith never chased women.

But here he was, staring through the peephole.

“There you are,” he muttered, seeing Alana sliding the key into her lock. Opening his door, he folded his arms in front of his chest.

Alana’s eyes grew wide when they landed on him.

Damn, she was gorgeous.

Today she was dressed in dark jeans that molded to her curves. A green T-shirt with a weird symbol on it, and matching green Chuck Taylor’s on her feet.

Her hair was parted into two long ponytails. Her glasses were large and green.

He wasn’t sure when it happened, but he loved the geeky girl look on her.

“Hello, Alana,” he greeted her, forcing himself to stay calm.

“London.” She hefted up the strap of her bag on her shoulder, her hand shaking slightly as she pushed her glasses higher on her nose. “How are you?”

“I’m not sure. I was supposed to have company over for dinner, but she never showed.”

“Oh.” She blinked, but didn’t say anything else.

“What happened to you?”

“You looked occupied.”

Alana seemed guarded, and he didn’t like it. He needed to see her smiling and laughing.

“How would you know that?” he asked, confused. It was then he realized she must have seen Bianca go into his apartment. He looked between her door and his. “That wasn’t what it looked like.”

“London, who you entertain in your home is not my business.”

She must have been looking through the peephole.

“Were you watching me?”

Her big brown eyes grew even wider.

“No. Okay, maybe.”

He stalked across the hall until her back was pressed against the door.

“And how often have you watched me?”

She tilted her head back to meet his gaze. “Often.”

A couple came around the corner, deep in a conversation. London recognized them as the neighbors at the end of the hall. The gentleman gave a nod, and London jerked his head in greeting. The woman’s giggle floated through the air as they entered their condo.

Feeling Alana pressed up against him unleashed the beast inside of him. His cock strained against his sweats, demanding to be let out. Alana’s supple breasts brushed against his chest. His gaze dropped to the base of her neck, watching her pulse skyrocket.

“When you were looking through your peephole, did you see that Bianca left not long after she arrived?”

He slid his hand around her waist, pulling her close, ensuring nothing could get in between them.

She shook her head.

“She wasn’t who I wanted to spend my evening with,” he murmured.

“No?”

“I’d told you already what I wanted.” Her nostrils flared. He knew she remembered what he’d said in the bookstore.

He dropped a hard kiss to her lips, the need to have her consuming him. Her whimper fed the fire burning inside of him.

“I’ve thought about nothing but you all week.”

Another kiss.

Alana’s chest was rising and falling rapidly.

He buried his face in the crook of her neck, the scent of her perfume filling his nostrils. Nipping her neck, he trailed his tongue up to her ear, taking it between his teeth.

“I need you, Alana. I want to thrust my cock inside your tight little cunt. Tonight.”

Alana moaned, her hands gripping his shirt in a tight hold.

“London…”

He rested his hand on the door beside her head. Their lips connected again, and this time, she pushed her hips forward against him. Her mouth was hungry for his. His tongue stroked hers, allowing him to get a taste of her.

He’d missed this.

The feel of her soft, curvy body molding so perfectly against his. It was as if she were made for him.

“Do you want to feel me inside of you?”

“God, yes,” she breathed.

“Then open the fucking door, Alana,” he growled. “Unless you want our neighbors to watch me fuck you right here in the hallway.”

Spinning around, she jiggled the key and unlocked the door. Pushing it open, she walked inside and turned, her focus on him.

He stalked through the entryway and shut the door behind him while Alana shrugged off her messenger bag, letting it fall to the floor. Moving to stand in front of her, he fought to keep his hands to himself.

“Second thoughts? Because now would be the time for you to tell me to go home.”

Her heart was racing away like a runaway train. She had tried her best to stay clear of London, not wanting to face him after last week. She had gotten her hopes up, and they had been crushed.

Stomped into the ground.

Alana didn’t know how he knew what time she got home, but she hadn’t expected for him to come flying out of his apartment and practically devour her with one kiss.

Her lips still tingled.

Lord. Have. Mercy.

That kiss practically took her breath away.

Made her forget why she was avoiding him.

Standing before him, she took him in. His hair was tussled, as if he had been running his hands through it. Her gaze wandered down to the tight fitted T-shirt that molded to his body. She knew from their conversations that he loved working out.

Through his gray sweat pants, she could see the silhouette of his hard cock pressing against the heavy cotton material.

From the size of his bulge, she knew he was working with something to brag about.

“Alana,” London murmured, getting her attention. Smirking, he reached for her, his thumb running along her bottom lip. “What will it be? Am I staying or going home?”
