Rhett

"Shall we get out of here? Go somewhere a little more private?" Clarissa purrs in my ear.

But her words don’t have the effect on me that she was hoping for, because the last thing I want to do is end up in a room alone with this chick.

My eyes scan the crowd for Sadie. She's the only reason I let Clarissa anywhere near me. She's the reason my head is fucked up. But I don't find her with Quinn like she was before. Instead, I find Quinn arguing with Dane.

The sight isn't unusual—everyone in the club knows that the two of them don't exactly see eye to eye. But the fact that Sadie is nowhere to be seen worries me.

"Maybe another time," I say, pushing Clarissa from my lap as I stand.

"Ow, Rhett," she whines, making me wince and confirming that I just did the right thing.

"Tell me where she is, Quinn," Dane demands as I get closer. "I know you're lying to me. If she's in dan—"

"What's going on?" I bark, looking between the two of them.

"Sadie's gone. And Quinn let her walk right out the fucking compound unaccompanied."

"You fucking what?" I roar, taking a step forward and getting right in her face.

Unlike most girls, though, she doesn't so much as blink at my aggression.

"Where the fuck did she go, Quinn?" I demand, my fingers twitching as I fight the urge to strangle the truth out of her.

If Sadie left alone and the Reapers… A shudder of fear races down my spine, the likes of which I've only ever felt once in my life before. Tuesday night, to be exact, when Dane called to tell me what had happened when someone ran them off the road.

Obviously sensing that I'm not messing around, Quinn swallows down her lies and looks me dead in the eye. "She went to meet Wes."

"Wes?" I bellow. "She went to meet Wesley fucking Noble? Why the fuck would she do that?"

Quinn shrugs, and I close the last bit of space between us.

"Cool it, bro," Dane breathes, sliding a hand between us.

"I don't know.” Her brows pinch. “He texted her and she went to meet him."

"Fuck," I roar, my palm slamming down on the cabin wall behind Quinn's head. "Fuck. We need to find her."

"Let's go."

Dane and I take off toward the clubhouse with Quinn hot on our tails. "Don't you already think you've done enough, Renshaw?" I spit.

"I didn't want her to go.” Her voice trembles. “I told her it was a stupid idea. But you know what Sadie’s like when she gets an idea in her head."

I scoff, knowing exactly what she's fucking like.

"Stay here."

"No, I'm—"

"Stay here in case she comes back," I growl, making her steps falter.

"Savage, Stray," Pacman shouts across the compound as we emerge around the corner. "Someone here to see you."

"Not now, Pac."

"It… er… looks pretty important."

"Fuck's sake." Upping my speed, I take off toward the gate, Dane right beside me. "This had better be life or fucking death."

"Oh shit," Dane breathes when we turn the corner and find who's waiting for us.

I barely register the blood running down his face or the fear in his eyes. All I see is fucking red as I fly toward Noble, pulling my gun from my pants as I go. "Where the fuck is she?" I demand, pinning him back against the clubhouse gates with my forearm pressed against his throat and the barrel of my gun digging into his temple.

"I-I—"

"Spit it the fuck out before I ensure you never say another fucking word again."

"Rhett, calm the fuck down, brother," Dane demands, appearing at my side as Quinn finally rushes around the corner, clearly too fucking nosey for her own good.

"Oh my God," she cries. "Where's Sadie? Is she okay? What happ—"

"Renshaw," I growl, cutting off her incessant rambling. "Tell us where the fuck she is before I put a bullet through your brain."

"I don't know. T-they took her."

"Who’s they?" Dane asks.

"Took her? Took her where?"

"I don't know," Wes cries. "I don't fucking know. They knocked me out and put her into a van. They were gone before I could do anything. I came straight here. I didn't know what else to do."

"Fuck," I boom, finally releasing him.

The clubhouse gates rattle as my fist collides with the metal. Once. Twice. Three times before I actually feel anything but pure fucking panic.

"It's okay. Let's get you fixed up and we'll figure this out. Rhett?" Dane calls, and when I turn back, I find he and Quinn are on either side of Wes, ready to help him inside.

"He's not fucking coming in here." Over my dead fucking body.

"Rhett, get over yourself," Quinn breathes, sounding totally exasperated. "Look at him."

"We'll clean him up,” Dane adds. “Find out everything he knows, then go find her."

"If they've fucking got her, man…"

"We'll get her back." He meets my eyes and nods.

"Who? If who's got her?" Quinn demands.

"Shut the fuck up," I bark at her.

"It was Evan," Wes blurts out.

"Evan?" Dane echoes.

"I-I was with Evan. This is all him. I know it is."

"Stupid motherfucker."

"We'll go around the back. The less attention we attract the better," Dane says, pushing forward and forcing me to follow as we head around to the back of the clubhouse which will lead us to the secluded back door and into Dane's room.

Dane and Quinn lower Wes to the end of the bed, being entirely too gentle with him, seeing as he just got our girl fucking abducted by that sick cunt.

Grabbing Dane's chair, I drag it over and sit directly in front of him. "Tell us everything."

"There's a first aid kit in my bathroom," Dane says to Quinn, who rushes off while he stands behind me, waiting for information.

"We were walking through the park, heading to meet some of the guys. We were almost out when I saw her."

"Sadie?"

"Yeah. She called for me as if she was expecting me, but we were just going to meet the guys, so I don't know—"

"What happened next?"

He shakes his head as if he can't get his thoughts straight. "A white van pulled up and two guys jumped out. All in black. They… they hit her."

My knuckles crack with the tightness of my fists as I imagine someone hurting her.

"Then what?" Dane urges.

"I went to take off, running to help, but Evan hit me with something from behind and I blacked out. When I came to, they were all gone. I would have called her, but I don't have my cell. I don't know—"

I stand, the chair toppling over behind me as I begin to pace. "Where did they go, Noble?"

"I have no idea. I don't know what to do. I don't—"

"It's okay," Quinn soothes, reappearing with Dane's first aid box and laying it all out on the bed beside Wes. "We'll find her."
