Sacrifice (Savage Fall Sinners MC #2)(18)
Author: Caitlyn Dare

The last thing I expect when we get to Dee's is to find Noble still hanging around.

"I thought you'd got rid of him?" I snap at Dane the second I walk into the kitchen.

"You're a prick," Sadie hisses, jumping up from the stool she's sitting on between Pretty Boy and Dane.

"Never claimed to be anything else, princess."

"Ray, we need to talk," Micky says, emerging from the other room. The two of them disappear, leaving me looking between everyone else.

"What the fuck is going on?" I bark.

"There's an issue with Wes's mom," Sadie says while Wes looks like he wants to run and hide beside her. "She's… staying here tonight."

"Why the fuck is this our problem?"

Sadie takes a step toward me, her angry eyes holding mine. "Because, asshole, if it weren't for Wes then I'd probably be fucking dead right now." Reaching out, she lifts my blood-covered fists between us. "And I think it's clear to all of us how you feel about the guy who had me last night."

"Princess," I growl in warning.

"What happened?"

"Let's just say he won't be touching you or anyone else again."

"Good."

The air crackles between us as everyone else sits silently, watching our exchange. Dane, Quinn, River and Jax are used to us by now, but I can sense Wes's confused stare. I can understand why he's baffled by all of this. Hell, I'm fucking confused as to what's going on.

I'm not stupid. I knew something had happened between the three of them the second I walked into Dane’s room earlier. If the guilty looks on their faces weren't enough, Sadie's pink cheeks that only burn that bright after an orgasm and the scent of sex in the air confirmed it.

What I don't want to acknowledge is the strength of the jealousy that crashed into me, knowing that they did whatever it was without me.

Heavy footsteps echo down the hall before Ray reappears. "We're going to clear out to give Victoria some space."

"No, I don't—" Wes starts, but when Sadie turns to him and whispers something he backs down. He nods and she slides her hand into his.

My fists curl at the sight before my eyes move to Dane, who unsurprisingly watches them together with desire building in his eyes.

Kinky fucker.

"Let's go. And it shouldn't need saying,” Ray levels each of us with a hard look, “but none of you are leaving until we've figured out our next move."

I throw my leg over my bike as Dane, Sadie and Noble climb into the truck. River hovers, looking between Quinn and me.

"Go with him. I'm staying here," Quinn announces.

"Come with us, we can hang," Sadie calls from the truck.

"Nah, I think you've already got your hands full enough." Quinn's eyes narrow on Sadie, making me wonder just how much she knows.

"River, get on," I bark, more than ready to get the fuck out of here.

"O-okay." She races over and I hold out my helmet for her.

I still hate the idea of her on a bike, but at least if it's mine then I know I'm in control. The thought of her on the back of anyone else’s bike terrifies me.

The journey back to Ray's is short, and the second we're all inside, he announces that he's going to his office and disappears, leaving us all standing awkwardly in the hallway.

"We should go and get drinks," Jax suggests, placing his hand in the small of my sister's back, making my teeth grind with my need to rip his arm from his body so he can't touch her again.

"Why don't you go out the back and start the firepit," Sadie suggests, and the two of them disappear, leaving the four of us with an unbearable tension crackling around us.

"Right, well as fun as this is," Sadie sasses, backing toward the stairs, "I'm gonna go take a shower. Try not to kill each other."

I watch her as she climbs the stairs, desperate to follow her and demand she tells me what happened between her, Dane and Noble earlier, but before I get a chance to move, Dane slaps me on my shoulder, pushing me toward the kitchen.

"You should probably clean up,” he chuckles. “You look like a murderer."

"Funny you say that," I mutter, looking down at my blood-splattered arms and busted knuckles. "What I really need is a shower."

The memory of Sadie's wet body pressed against mine last night pops into my head and I almost spin around and follow her.

"Yeah, probably not the best idea with Prez down the hall. We don't want to be cleaning up any more bodies tonight."

Dane grabs a six-pack from the refrigerator as we pass through the kitchen. Knowing it's not going to be enough after the events of the past twenty-four hours, and the fact that I'm still having to look at Wesley fucking Noble and pretend he belongs here, I side step Stray and go straight for Ray's liquor cabinet, pulling out a bottle of whiskey and twisting the top.

I down nearly a quarter of the bottle with both Dane and Wesley staring at me like I've lost my mind before I finally walk to the sink to clean that motherfucker's blood from my skin.

By the time we get outside, Jax has the firepit roaring, and he and River are sitting around with a beer each in hand. With my eyes firmly on my sister, silently warning her to behave, I lower myself to one of the seats.

“We need to talk,” Dane whispers, out of earshot of them.

“What?” I grunt, lifting the beer to my lips.

“You lied to Sadie… about how we found her.”

“So?” I shrug.

“Rhett, brother, come on. When she finds out…”

“If I hadn’t put that tracker on her cell, we might never have found her, and you’re gonna rail me for it?”

He lets out a weary sigh. “You’re playing a dangerous game, brother. She isn’t some pet you can leash—”

Wes glances in our direction and anger explodes inside of me. "Why the fuck is he still here?" I bark, nodding at Noble, not even attempting to disguise my frustration.

"Because Sadie wants him here," Dane says with a shrug, knowing that it'll only piss me off further if his smirk tells me anything.

"And what the princess wants the princess gets, huh?"

"Don't remember you complaining before." He winks, and I’m relieved as fuck he’s letting the tracker shit drop. So I put a tracker on her cell? I’d do it again if I had to. Sadie is a flight risk. She’s wild and untamed, and I refuse to let her run riot on my watch.

"He doesn't belong here," I grumble again.

"He is sitting right here," Pretty Boy pipes up. "And don't worry, he doesn't really want to hang with you either."

My eyebrows shoot up in surprise. Well fuck me, maybe he does have some balls.

I'm still staring in shock when a shadow falls over us.

When I drag my eyes upward, I find Sadie standing with her hand on her hip and a fierce expression on her face. But it's not either of those that really steals my attention, because that's the damn near see-through tank she's wearing and the tiny shorts that I already know will show off half of her ass if she were to turn around.

"Looking good, Sadie, girl. Come sit with me." Dane holds his hand out for her, his other patting his lap. And like a good little girl, she goes.
