Maybe We Should (Silver Harbor #2)(48)
Author: Melissa Foster

“Brant,” she pleaded, writhing beneath him.

“Soon, baby.”

He kissed her lower belly and inner thighs, anticipation pounding inside her. Her body was on fire, throbbing with desire. She held her breath with every touch of his lips. He kissed the apex of her sex, his hot breath coasting over her wetness. She fisted her hands in the sheets, spreading her legs wider, and lifted her hips, craving him like a drug. The first slick of his tongue sent sparks searing through her core, and her eyes slammed shut. Every stroke of his tongue brought a rock of her hips. He feasted on her, working her clit to mind-numbing perfection with his hands and mouth, sending her soaring, spinning, exploding into ecstasy. Her head thrashed. She clawed at his shoulders, crying out in sweet agony as her body bucked and quivered. She fisted her hands in his hair, holding on for dear life as he sent her soaring again. When she finally floated down from the peak, she almost caught her breath, but then his mouth moved to her clit, and his fingers entered her, zeroing in on the pleasure points that made her toes curl and tore more pleasure-filled cries from her lungs. He stayed with her, stroking and kissing until she collapsed blissfully to the mattress.

She lay panting as he kissed his way up her oversensitive body. Every touch drew a gasp or a quiver, until she was hanging on to her sanity by a fast-fraying thread. His mouth came down over hers, the broad head of his cock nestled against her entrance, sending her heart thundering anew. When their lips parted, his eyes searched hers, silently seeking approval. Did he know the extra care he took with her was everything? She rose off the pillow and kissed him, whispering, “I want all of you.”

The way he was looking at her made her insides go soft. He leaned across the bed and grabbed a box of condoms from his nightstand, then rose on his knees and tore it open. She had a fleeting moment of gratitude that it was a brand-new box and not a half-empty one, but on its heels came a strange and wonderful thought. It wouldn’t matter if it had been half-empty. With everything he’d said, she knew this wasn’t just her new beginning. It was theirs.

His eyes locked on hers as he gave his long, thick cock one slow stroke. Lust surged through her. Holy cow. That was the hottest thing she’d ever seen. He sheathed himself and eased down over her, cradling her beneath him like she was precious. His mouth covered hers as their bodies came together slowly and carefully. She held him tighter, feeling every blessed inch of him as he lifted her knees, opening her wider to accommodate him, until he was buried to the hilt.

They both inhaled sharply. She could barely breathe for the emotions whirling and skidding inside her. His eyes found hers, and it was all right there, everything he felt, every word he didn’t have to say.

His forehead touched hers, and “Caity” slipped incredulously from his lips. She felt like she could cry at the intensity of what they had. Her eyes fluttered closed at the fullness in her heart and her body, but a ripple of fear tiptoed in, darkening her elation.

As if he’d felt the change in her, Brant lifted his face, gazing deeply into her eyes, and said, “I’ve got you” with such warmth and surety, he obliterated that fear. Their mouths came together in another soul-searing kiss, and they found their rhythm. Every pump of his hips sent scintillating sensations racing through her.

“God, baby,” he gritted out, driving in deeper.

Lost in the heat spreading through her chest like wildfire, she pulled his mouth down to hers. He pushed his hands beneath her bottom, lifting her hips, taking her deliciously deeper. They both went a little wild, thrusting harder, holding tighter, and breathing air into each other’s lungs. Heat blazed through her core, and her inner muscles clenched tight. She dug her fingernails into the backs of his arms as her orgasm crashed over her. Lightning seared through her, exploding in a downpour of fiery lights behind her closed lids. Brant tore his mouth away, growling her name as they spiraled into ecstasy, bound together in a world of passion far more exquisite than anything she’d ever known.

When they collapsed, spent and sated, to the mattress, Brant rained kisses over her face and shoulders, whispering, “So good . . . Special . . . Incredible,” holding her so tight, she couldn’t have rolled away if she’d wanted to. But moving out of his strong arms was the last thing she wanted. She’d never felt so cherished in all her life, and she knew in her heart that this was what dreams were made of.

A long while later, he took care of the condom and gathered her in his arms again, gazing deeply into her eyes. “Stay with me?”

“There’s no place I’d rather be.”

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

BRANT AWOKE SATURDAY morning in the same position he’d fallen asleep in, spooning Cait. His hips cradled her butt, her legs were tucked against his, and her dark hair tickled his chin. Scrappy was fast asleep on her other side, snorting softly. Everything he wanted was right there in that room. He knew that was crazy, since he and Cait had only just gotten together. But she’d been in his thoughts, and in his heart, for more than three months, and it felt like they’d been building their relationship for all that time, nurturing their friendship and establishing trust, proving that the initial attraction wasn’t just a flash in the pan. He knew it was risky to put his heart on the line, given that Cait might wake up with regrets and take off. But he didn’t believe that would happen after the way they’d come together last night. They’d made love twice, and the second time had been even more astounding than the first. There was no faking the way she’d looked at him, touched him, and most importantly, trusted him.

He kissed her shoulder, and she startled, flipping around to face him, eyes wide with surprise. She looked down at her naked body and yanked the sheet up to her neck. So fucking cute.

“Good morning, angel. Did you forget you’d spent the night?”

“Maybe.” A sweet smile lifted her lips. “I was trying to figure out why there was a steel rod against my butt.”

He chuckled, pulling her closer. “My rod likes your butt—and all your other parts. Do you really need that sheet after all we shared? I’m pretty sure I’ve memorized, tasted, and worshipped every dip and curve of your beautiful body.” He kissed her pink cheeks, rocking his arousal against her and loving the way her breathing hitched. “I can still hear the sounds you made when I was buried deep inside you.”

She lifted her chin defiantly. “Now you’re just trying to make me blush.”

“I do love to see you blush, but I’m just being honest, so you realize you don’t need to hide from me. Last night was the most incredible night I’ve ever had. Am I alone in that? It sure didn’t feel like I was.”

A spark of mischief rose in her eyes. “It was all right.”

“All right?” He grabbed her ribs, and she squealed, trying to wriggle away, both of them laughing. Scrappy barked and jumped off the bed, darting out of the room as Brant continued tickling Cait, ignoring her pleas to stop. “Care to change your answer?”

She broke free and rolled away. “It was . . . fair.”

“I’ll give you fair.” He grabbed her by the waist and hauled her back, straddling her body and pinning her hands beside her head, both of them laughing. “Want to change your answer yet?”
