King of the Shadow Fae (The Darkest Fae #1)(47)
Author: Amelia Hutchins

“We should get off,” I whispered huskily.

“One of us should,” he chuckled, watching as my eyes rolled back in my head.

He shielded me from the doors, and yet he didn’t stop driving me toward the precipice I was teetering.

I parted my lips, and his hand lifted, smothering the cry that burst from me as I exploded. My entire body shook with the force of the orgasm shooting from my belly into my pussy. It felt like the world was shaking around me, and before I could argue that we shouldn’t be doing this here, he dropped to his knees, pushing the dress away as he licked me there.

The noises he made against my sex were indecent. He pushed his finger into the heat of my core, creating a pained sound while I clenched down, sucking it deeper into my tight channel. Another orgasm started blossoming, and I slipped my hands through his hair as all coherent thoughts left my mind, and pure desire took control.

Kieran licked and fucked me with his finger until my legs threatened to give out, not carrying my weight. Repositioning me, he lifted my leg over his shoulder, continuing to kiss, suck, and devour my pussy until I was crying out his name as another orgasm swallowed me whole. He pulled back, his mouth covered with my pleasure, and he smiled at me, slowly pushing two fingers into me as I floated back to earth.

“Good girl, Xariana,” he purred huskily.

Gradually, my mind returned as he stood, licking his lips while watching me struggle through the aftershocks of the orgasms he’d given me. He withdrew from my body, studying the way I breathed and fought to regain control of myself.

“I’m not even disappointed we skipped dessert now. You are more delicious than any sugary dish could ever be,” he whispered, leaning closer to capture my bottom lip between his teeth, pulling on it. I tasted myself on his mouth, and I chuckled at the craziness of the entire night. “In five seconds, I’m going to open the doors, and you and I will walk out of here like you didn’t just get that pussy eaten. Five, four, three, two, one…” the elevator opened, and he slipped his hand behind my back, steering me through the busy dining room, nodding in thanks to the owner, and then cold air washed over my face as we exited the restaurant.

Kieran produced a cigar, holding it with his mouth before gripping it with his teeth, striking a match, and pulling air into his lungs to light it. Then, smiling wickedly, he held it out for me. Still quaking, I accepted it, slowly taking a few pulls.

Unlike the previous cigar I tried, this one tasted divine. I puffed out ringlets, knowing he watched the way my mouth worked. Turning with my head leaning against the outside wall, I passed the cigar back to him, and he took several quick puffs before licking his lips, then closing his eyes to exhale.

“You know, these Gurkha Black Dragons are $1,500 each, and I’ve always thought they were exquisite. But now I think I prefer the taste of you on my lips, running down my throat,” he whispered, glancing at me.

I blushed at his words, uncertain how to respond. I’d met no one as crazy or sexy as Kieran in my entire life. There was a darkness inside of him that spoke to me on a primal level. He wouldn’t ever cringe at me wanting him to do bad things to me. He would never judge me when he learned I liked it rough, and that pain got me off.

“What are you thinking about right now?” he asked, offering me the cigar.

“I’m thinking that you’re insane,” I whispered, and his eyes narrowed to slits as if he didn’t like my response. “But also that you’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met before. It’s refreshing in a twisted sort of way. I may be high on the orgasms you just gave me, though. If you ask me the same thing tomorrow, my answer will probably change back to you being a fucking psychopath.”

He smiled, and it took my breath away. It wasn’t a cocky half-smile. Instead, this one lit up his violet eyes, stealing the air from my lungs at my first unguarded look at Kieran Knight. He was serious trouble because there was something about him that appealed to me on a deep level. Kieran was like me, wounded so profoundly that you had to pretend you were untouchable. You had to show the world another version of yourself, one that looked unshakeable.

He grasped my arm, slipping his beneath it while walking toward the SUV coming up the drive. We were running late for the gala, and I was very aware he’d planned it that way so that everyone would be there to watch us enter.

Kieran was making it known that we were out on a date. He was pleased that people were seeing me with him, which felt strange. No one ever wanted to be seen with me, but in all fairness, it normally meant they’d given information on someone. All things considered, I was enjoying the night, right until we entered the gala to find Rhys, Cole, Enzo, Ezekiel, and the other heads of houses gathered at the bottom of the steps, witnessing Kieran and I entering the party—together.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Kieran procured drinks, slowly feeding me alcohol while he stood guard, observing all the people that milled around us. I could feel the weight of the curious stares, but he didn’t seem to care about them in the slightest.

I was still high on the releases he’d given me, and I found myself wanting to be near him tonight. He guided me with a simple touch behind my back, his fingers rubbing against my skin. He wasn’t insecure about who or what he was, and it showed.

“You are smiling,” he stated after twirling me around the dancefloor.

Smirking, I sucked my bottom lip between my teeth before releasing it to study how he looked at me. “You’re a very good dancer.”

His eyebrows lifted at the compliment, and he nodded. “In my world, knowing how to blend in comes in handy.”

I laughed, shaking my head while ignoring the music playing in the room. “I doubt you blend in anywhere easily.”

He frowned absently, skimming over the party-goers in the ballroom. “And why would you think I don’t blend in?” He acted as if he was offended by my observation.

“Because you’re disturbingly beautiful,” I admitted, blushing as his gaze returned to mine, heating at my words. “When women see you, they stop to look at you. Men, on the other hand, tend to give you a wide berth. They sense you’re a killer. Like dogs entering a park, sniffing out which male would be the alpha of the pack.”

“And you think I’m the alpha?” he asked with a wolfish grin.

“No.” I watched his smile falter. “You would be a sigma male.”

He turned it over in his mind and was about to argue, but I stopped him in his tracks by placing my finger on his lips.

“You don’t give a shit about social protocol or hierarchy. You wouldn’t need a pack to lead because people are naturally drawn to your side. Your silent authority and personality allows men who don’t fit into normal packs the chance to join yours. You don’t command the room when you enter it, either. You walk in quietly and control it through your silence. Alpha men demand to be noticed. You don’t do that, which in turn, makes folks more inclined to do so. You’re an introvert, one who prefers to be in his own presence but will come out when needed. You don’t conform to social structures because you couldn’t care less how others see you.”

“And what else causes you to believe I am a sigma male?” He handed me a drink from a passing tray, and I accepted it with a smile, studying him as I took a long sip from the bubbly champagne flute.
