VIKTOR (Immortals of New Orleans #11)(69)
Author: Kym Grosso

Yeah. It’s just been a long time. That’s definitely her. Sebastian stared into the distance.

Don’t get in my way, Bastion. You can distract her, but Théa is mine to kill. Okay, folks. Let’s get it. Viktor gave a nod to Greyson and flashed.

“Don’t even think about it, dear brother,” Théa warned as Viktor materialized near the ruins.

Viktor steeled the white-hot rage that seized him as he caught sight of Waverly. She lay motionless on the ground, blood splattered over her nearly nude body. Her dull eyes stared into the darkness, her face drenched in blood.

“Don’t touch her,” Viktor yelled.

Wearing a black hooded robe, Théa lifted her gaze and shot him an icy smile. “You’re outnumbered. We are blessed by Father.”

“Let her go. She has nothing to do with this.” Viktor bared his fangs.

Naked, Adam stood over Waverly with a sword to her throat. He spat onto her stomach and stroked his dick.

“What the fuck are you doing? Get away from her!” Viktor demanded. He took a slow deliberate step toward them.

“Ah, ah, ah…” Théa whistled, and Adam responded, stabbing the tip of the blade into Waverly’s neck. Blood trickled down her grey-hued skin.

“Leave her alone or—” Viktor began.

“This is all in your honor, dear brother.” Her eyes lit with a whitish glow, emotion draining from her face. Hooded, with guns slung across their shoulders, her human soldiers emerged from the shadows.

“Brother Viktor, look at what I’ve accomplished. These humans. They work for me now. They are committed to the way of the vampire. They worship us. This is the natural order of things. They exist for our kind.”

“So what? This is your army?” Viktor looked to the humans and laughed as he continued to move toward her. “A bunch of broke ass vessels? I can take them all out myself.”

“I have done this all for Father. Tortured you. Taunted you. And this human.” Her diabolical smile wavered as she took a step toward Viktor. “It’s been fated. I’ve waited patiently for years for her to grow, to set up this delightful game. Did you not enjoy it? Yes, yes, brother. I knew all about her. It was foreseen by Father.”

Théa gave a maniacal laugh and turned back to Waverly. She knelt beside her body, stroking her hair. “This human. So very fragile.” She brushed her hand across Waverly’s neck, dabbing the blood to her fingertips and slipping them between her lips. “She’s delicious. Father will like her. But first Adam will fuck her. He’ll fuck her in front of you and our brother until she’s so very close to dying. He’ll make her scream, beg for mercy. And she’ll think it’s coming but it won’t be. Just like father, Greyson always enjoyed the kink. Does it make you hard, brother?”

“Get the fuck away from her, Théa. You may think you have it all figured out with your sick games, but you’re done. This is it. It’s the end of the road,” Viktor told her.

“Just one little nick and oh, so sorry, she may not survive. Father didn’t teach us well how to care for them. Especially you. No, no, no…you were always his shining star.” She laughed and tilted her head. “He was so certain you’d never fall in love. But I saw you that night in the bar. I saw how you looked at her. The prophesy wasn’t wrong. I’m afraid now you’re going to have to take your lashes like a good boy. Submit to me. Submit to father. Maybe I’ll let her live,” Théa turned to Waverly and dropped her fangs. “Or not.”

“Just let her go and we can sort this between us.” Viktor gauged the distance to be about ten feet away. He could run or flash, but it’d be likely Théa would strike her first. “I’ll do anything. You can have the fleam.”

“But of course you will.” Théa pressed to her feet. “I’ve always liked you on your knees but then again you never did choose me. No matter how much I threw myself at you, you ignored me.”

“Did you hear me? I said I’ll give you the fleam.”

She laughed. “The fleam? It means nothing. It was a tool. Another riddle for you. Another reminder of Father.”

“Leave Waverly alone. Remember. I saved you from him once,” Viktor told her.

“You think you saved me?” she screamed, her eyes glowing white and spit flying from her mouth.

“I know I saved you that day. He would have killed you—"

“And you call this living? Did he tell you how many times he beat me? How many times he fucked me until I bled from every hole? Did he? To do it over and over and bring me back each time until one time he took it just a little too far and decided to turn me.” She spat onto the ground and her saliva bubbled on the dirt like acid. “You know nothing about me, brother. But you’re about to find out. Take off your clothes! On your knees now. Do it or I’ll kill her.”

“We’re bonded. She won’t die,” Viktor told her, inching closer.

“Liar.” She laughed.

Waverly released a gut-wrenching scream as Adam stabbed the sword clear through her arm.

“On your knees. Now! Take off your shirt,” she ordered.

Rage tore through Viktor but he remained calm, focusing on Waverly. I’m going to get you out of here. Do you hear me? His question was returned with silence. He slowly removed his Kevlar and placed it on the ground, his fangs bared.

Waverly’s eyes flashed to his. Though her torso remained motionless, her fingers wiggled. They drugged me. Help.

I’ll be there in a flash, pet.

“Move it, Viktor, or she loses an eye,” Théa demanded. Adam hovered the tip of the sword over Waverly’s head.

“Take it easy, now. I’m doing what you want,” Viktor lied as he stepped forward and moved to unbutton his shirt. Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of Sebastian and gave him a nod. Now.

“Théa darling.” Sebastian stepped out of the shadows. “What’s all this business about, love?”

“What? No.” Théa’s voice fell to a whisper. “What are you doing here?”

“Well, you see, it turns out my brothers and I are quite happy with the way things are. Living our best lives and all that. So, I was quite surprised when I heard you’ve been messing around in Hell.” Sebastian held up his palms defensively, slowly moving toward her. “I want to talk about it. Stop all this nonsense.”

“This doesn’t concern you. You shouldn’t be here,” she told him.

“Yes, but can you guess what would happen to me if Baxter walked again?”

Théa’s mouth opened, her eyes flickering with understanding.

“That’s right, lovey. This,” he held his arms out wide, “would be dead. So, you see, I can’t have you digging up that bastard piece of shit.”

“He’ll never hurt you,” she insisted.

“Now you know better than to lie to me. Do you enjoy being a bad girl?” he asked with a flirtatious lilt in his voice.

“He listens to me. He speaks to me,” she whispered. “The beast wants to rise. The goat will come forth to set him free. It’s the first step.”
