Grim (Perished Riders MC)(24)
Author: Nicola Jane

“Why would he do that?”

I shrug. “He thinks she’ll be good for me.”

“But he doesn’t know we had sex. If he knew, he wouldn’t say that.”

I shift uncomfortably. “It wasn’t a relationship, Meli. We had sex a couple of times.”

“And I got pregnant. If you’re trying to tell me something, I suggest you just say it.”

“It’s just . . . I’ve been spending a lot of time with her, and she’s alright, yah know.”

Tears fill her eyes. “How dare you sit at my bedside after everything I’ve been through and try to ask if I’ll accept you and Hadley.”

“It’s not like you want to be with me!” I snap.

“So you decide to go for her? How will she feel knowing she’s second best?”

“She’s not. That’s not what I meant,” I argue.

“It’s what it looks like, Grim. She deserves better. Stay away from her.”

“I don’t know if I can,” I mutter.

She scoffs angrily. “Fine. Go for it. But you have to tell her everything first.”

“Why?” I snap. “Why can’t we just forget it ever happened and move on? That’s what you said at the hospital, that we could forget it all and move forward!”

“I didn’t know you’d be moving on to my fucking twin sister!” she hisses. “She deserves to know, so she can make up her own mind. You know it’s wrong, that’s why you don’t want me to tell her, because she’ll never be with you after this, and we both know it.”

I stand angrily. “This was a waste of time.”

HADLEY

I’m in the shower when I hear Grim come into my room. Minutes later, he’s tugging me from the shower and wrapping me in his arms. “I’m getting you wet,” I point out, laughing.

“I don’t care,” he mumbles into my neck. He drops to his knees and runs his fingers through my pussy. I shiver against his touch and grip his shoulders. “I missed you.”

“Where were you all night?”

“Playing robbers with your brother.”

“He’s a bad influence,” I joke.

Grim inserts his fingers into me, and I gasp. “We need to spend the day in here, locked away from the world.”

“Nice idea, Burglar Bill, but I have things to do.”

“It’s Sunday. Who works on a Sunday?”

“A woman after a promotion.”

He shakes his head. “No, not today. Today, we’re hiding here.” He buries his head between my legs, licking along my opening. I push my fingers into his hair, closing my eyes as he works his magic. When I’m close to coming, he stands, and I groan in protest. “Stay.”

“Grim, I have to go to work. What’s wrong?”

He sweeps me up in his arms and carries me through to the bed. “I just need to be with you today.”

“I know we’re keeping this quiet, but people will get suspicious if we’re both missing all day again. We spend every spare moment in here.”

He bends me over and runs his hands over my bare arse. “Do you know how hot you look like that?”

“Stop changing the subject.”

I hear his belt unfasten and glance over my shoulder. He grabs a handful of my hair and tips my head back. I feel his erection pushing at my opening. “I’m tired of talking,” he murmurs. He moves fast, fucking hard and taking me by surprise. He slams into me over and over, keeping hold of my hair. He suddenly stops and turns me around, pushing me to my knees and gripping his cock in his hand. I automatically take him in my mouth, and he closes his eyes in pleasure as I suck him. I know the moment he’s about to come because his panting is out of control and his cock tightens. I let him fall from my mouth, and his eyes shoot open. I smile up at him. He stopped just as I was about to come, so there’s no way he’s having all the pleasure. He grins and pulls me to stand. “You think you’re clever,” he says.

I scream in surprise when he picks me up, and I wrap my legs around his waist. He pushes into me and nuzzles my neck, fucking me like I weigh nothing. We come together and collapse on the bed, still wrapped around each other.

After a few minutes rest, he runs kisses down my neck and over my breasts. “I have to go,” I argue, trying to push him away. He sucks a nipple into his mouth, and I arch my back. He has way too much power over my body. “Grim, please,” I whisper, but it’s a mix of begging him to keep going and to let me go. “Don’t you ever get tired?”

“Not when it comes to you. We should get our own place,” he adds.

I laugh, confused by his odd behaviour. “But we live here.”

“Just imagine what it would be like to have our own place. I’d get you to myself all day and night,” he mutters, growling as he enters me again. “We could walk around naked.”

“You’re acting weird.”

“I’m not. I’m seeing clearly for fucking once and I don’t want to let you go.”

“You don’t have to.” I laugh, unsure why he’s saying all this. “We can tell everyone once Meli’s feeling better.”

“That’s when things get messy, though. Everyone will be involved.”

“Nobody bothers Rylee or Gracie. Stop overthinking.”

He speeds up again, slamming into me until it’s almost uncomfortable. “Grim,” I mutter, pushing against his shoulder. He grunts, his rhythm fast and jerky. “Grim,” I repeat. It’s like he’s lost in a memory and that freaks me out more, so I hit his shoulder hard, once, twice, a third time, and eventually, he blinks and looks down at me. “Stop,” I snap. “Stop!”

He immediately stops. “Shit, sorry. Fuck. I was . . .”

I push him from me. “You weren’t here, I get it.”

“I . . . Hadley, I—”

“Forget it. The worst thing is, I’m starting to get used to this weird behaviour.” I sigh heavily, then head back to the bathroom to shower for a second time. Grim follows me, leaning against the sink unit with his arms folded over his chest and his head bowed.

“I’m sorry,” he whispers.

“It’s fine.”

“It’s not fine. I’m really sorry, Hads. I’m scared.”

“Of what?” I snap, frustrated with this same bullshit.

“Of losing you,” he shouts.

I stare at him, my heart breaking. He looks so vulnerable and worried. “Grim, you won’t lose me. Why would you? Do you know how long I’ve waited for this? For us?”

He glances at me, and his eyes are so full of pain, it almost breaks me. I step from the shower and wrap myself in a towel. Standing before him, I run a hand over his cheek. “I’m not going anywhere.”

“Promise?” he asks, and I nod. “Because I can’t stand the thought of you walking out on me too.”

I wrap my arms around his neck and hold him. I feel his shoulders shaking and realise he’s crying. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of the men here cry. The fact he’s doing it in front of me shows he trusts me enough to let me see that side of him, and it means the world. I hold him tighter. “No matter what, right?” he mumbles, and I nod again. “Words, Hads. I need to hear it.”
