The Billionaire (The Dalton Brothers #2)(68)
Author: Marni Mann

Spade Hotels or my daughter.

He made the right choice.

And even though I had given him a hard time, even though I’d borne down and buried him in pressure, he’d become a part of my circle the moment I saw the smile on my daughter’s face.

The same one she wore now.

Happiness looked good on the both of them.

I looked away from Joanna just in time to see Dominick come closer and stop at my side.

He gripped the top of my shoulder, like we were shaking hands again, and said, “Walter, we’ll see you inside.”

Kendall and Ford and Everly followed him.

Joanna then checked the time on her watch, our eyes connecting as she said, “Dad, I have to go get ready for the gala.” She kissed me on the cheek.

“Don’t be late,” I warned even though I knew she’d be early.

Jenner shook my hand again, his head nodding, his fingers squeezing my shoulder before he linked fingers with Joanna.

I turned and watched them walk through the entrance.

Even though they had a home in the area, they were spending the weekend at the hotel, participating in the festivities her team had planned.

Little did she know, when they boarded the plane Monday morning, they weren’t headed for LA, like she thought.

Jenner was taking her to Bali.

And the ring he was going to propose with was currently locked in the hotel’s private safe.

She would always be my baby girl.

She would always be a Spade.

But soon, she would also be a Dalton.

Acknowledgments

Nina Grinstead, every time I reach this section, a million thoughts come into my head on what this journey has looked like for us. All the late-night and early-morning talks. The texts. The plans. The dreams. Each book has looked so different, but nothing about us has changed. We’re in this together until the very end—and I’m talking about walkers, not words. Love you doesn’t even come close to cutting it. Team B forever.

Jovana Shirley, whenever I send you my final manuscript, I exhale the biggest sigh of relief. Not because it’s done—although that too—but because it’s in your hands. You have this unbelievable ability to always know what I’m trying to say and this incredible vision and talent that can polish my books into something I’m so proud of. YOU make me shine. Like I say every time, I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone but you. Love you so hard.

Hang Le, my unicorn, you are just incredible in every way.

Judy Zweifel, as always, thank you for being so wonderful to work with and for taking such good care of my words. <3

Chanpreet Singh, thanks for always holding me together and for helping me in every way. Adore you, lady. XO.

Kaitie Reister, I love you, girl. Thanks for being you.

Nikki Terrill, my soul sister. Every tear, vent, dinner, virtual hug, life chaos, workout, you’ve been there through it all. I could never do this without you, and I would never want to. Love you hard.

Sarah Symonds, you understand my words more than anyone, and I have a blast, being on this journey with you, my friend. Thank you for always being there, for all your love and support. I wouldn’t want to do this without you. Ever.

Ratula Roy, this was a special one for us, a rainbow behind the clouds, and you helped me capture that beauty. You always have my back, my heart, and my love. Forever, baby. Love you.

Kimmi Street, my sister from another mister. There’s no way to describe us; there’s just something special when it comes to our unbreakable bond. Nothing and no one will ever change that. I love you more than love.

Extra-special love goes to Valentine PR, Kelley Beckham, Kayti McGee, Chris Fletcher, Tracey Waggaman, Sally Ilan, Elizabeth Kelley, Jennifer Porpora, Pat Mann, and my group of Sarasota girls, whom I love more than anything. I’m so grateful for all of you.

Mom and Dad, thanks for your unwavering belief in me and your constant encouragement. It means more than you’ll ever know.

Brian, my words could never dent the love I feel for you. Trust me when I say, I love you more.

My Midnighters, you are such a supportive, loving, motivating group. Thanks for being such an inspiration, for holding my hand when I need it, and for always begging for more words. I love you all.

To all the bloggers who read, review, share, post, tweet, Instagram—Thank you, thank you, thank you will never be enough. You do so much for our writing community, and we’re so appreciative.

To my readers—I cherish each and every one of you. I’m so grateful for all the love you show my books, for taking the time to reach out to me, and for your passion and enthusiasm. I love, love, love you.

About the Author

USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann knew she was going to be a writer since middle school. While other girls her age were daydreaming about teenage pop stars, Marni was fantasizing about penning her first novel. She crafts sexy, titillating stories that weave together her love of darkness, mystery, passion, and human emotions. A New Englander at heart, she now lives in Sarasota, Florida, with her husband and their yellow Lab. When she’s not nose deep in her laptop, working on her next novel, she’s scouring for chocolate, sipping wine, traveling, or devouring fabulous books.
