To My Dad's Hot Best Friend (The Inappropriate Bachelors #8)(37)
Author: J. S. Cooper

I turned to him and smiled. "You're the sweetest, Dad. But I'm just going to put on some blush and maybe reapply my lipstick."

"Okay," he said. "You go ahead. Are any of your friends coming?"

"My friends?" I looked at him in surprise. "No, this is your party."

"You know her friends wouldn't want to be with the likes of us," my mom said. "They're all into dancing and making out and doing who knows what. They don't want to be with a bunch of old people like us."

"You got that right," I said with a nod. "None of my friends would be interested in hanging out with you guys." I stared at Sam. "They'd think it was terribly boring."

"I don't know," Sam said. "I can think of many different ways to make it not be boring."

"Oh yeah. Like what, spin the bottle?" I stared at him.

"Now that's an interesting idea, isn't it? Imagine our friends and your friends playing spin the bottle. There could be quite a few controversies there."

"Oh my," my mom said, giggling. "I couldn't imagine kissing a college guy."

"Then don't," my dad said, shaking his head. "All right, Shelby, you go to the bathroom and freshen up. I guess we can start sampling some of these snacks, make sure they taste good." He grinned. "You sure went all out."

"Thank Shelby for that. It was her idea to get all these different varieties of snacks."

"Well, I want to make sure there's something for everyone. You guys don't celebrate an anniversary every year."

"Well, that's not exactly true," my mom said.

"You know what I mean. I mean a big anniversary. Of course, you celebrate an anniversary every year." I rolled my eyes. "Anyway, I'm going to the restroom." I walked back to the bathroom and opened the door.

"Hey Shelby, I just want to ask you something," Sam said, as he came up behind me. "What the hell do you think you're playing at?" he said in a low voice.

"What are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Are you trying to get us busted by your parents?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing. Do you want my mom and dad to know that you've been fucking me?"

"Excuse me?" he said.

"I said do you want my mom and dad-"

"No, I heard what you said, but I think it's the other way around."

"Excuse me?" I said, raising an eyebrow. "What?"

"You're the one that's been fucking me, Shelby," Sam said with a little grin. "And if you're lucky, I'll let you fuck me again tonight when everyone's gone." He gave me a pointed look.

"You think you're so hot, don't you?"

"I mean, you think I'm hot, at least that's what you said in that letter you sent me."

"I told you it was a joke."

"Uh-huh, sure it was. It was such a joke that you ended up fucking me just a couple of weeks later."

“Sam." I pressed my lips together.

"What?" he said. "I know that you're finding it hard to keep your hands off of me." He grinned as I poked him in the chest. "But you're going to have to resist me for the rest of the night, up until your parents leave. Then I can let you do whatever you want to me."

I stared at him for a few seconds, shaking my head. "So you're telling me that I need to just back off at the party and pretend that we're not fucking. But once everyone's gone, I can let you stick your dick in me?"

"Sounds about right. I mean, I'll let you sit on my face as well."

I felt my body heating up at his words. "You really think you're all that, don't you?"

"Do we have to have this conversation again? Didn't we just say that we both know that you think I'm all that?”

"I just can't get over how full of yourself you are."

"Yeah, well, maybe don't bother trying then."

I stared at him for a few seconds and then walked into the bathroom and closed the door in his face and locked the door. I couldn't believe how obnoxious he was and how turned on I was. He thought that I was just going to act like a dutiful woman and keep away from him at the party. And then I was going to let him fuck me after the party. I mean, granted, I knew everything he said made sense. It wasn't like I wanted my parents to know what we were doing. But coming from his mouth, it just felt dirty and I felt kind of icky. He thought he was totally in charge of everything. Well, I was going to show him. No one bossed Shelby around. No one put baby in a corner or rather, Shelby in a corner. I was going to show him.

A plan hatched in my mind. It was likely that I would get myself busted and in trouble, but it was worth the risk if it took down Sam a couple of notches. He was hot and sex with him was amazing. And I was falling for him in ways I never thought I would, but I wasn't going to let him have the upper hand in this relationship. I wasn't going to let him dictate to me when we could or couldn't hook up or when we could and couldn't have a personal conversation. He thought he was so smart, but I was about to do something to him that was going to push him to his limit. I was really interested to see how he was going to react.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

"I've had the time of my life!" I screamed out as I listened to the music from Dirty Dancing. Sam's apartment was packed with people. I hadn't realized just how many friends my parents had, and I was happy to see them smiling and dancing as well. I was actually shocked that my dad was dancing and not just sitting down with a beer, talking about football. I walked over to the kitchen and grabbed myself a small ham and cheese croissant and took a bite. It was delicious. I looked around to see what other food was left and spied some king prawns with a sweet chili dipping sauce. “I think I will,” I said to myself, as I headed over.

I looked across the room and saw that Sam was standing, talking to a lady with long red hair. She seemed to be flirting with him and he seemed to be enjoying it. I rolled my eyes and smirked to myself. He had no idea what was coming. I'd already spoken to the DJ and the music was about to change in about 20 minutes, and the lights were also going to go down seeing as it was the evening. We were going to turn Sam's living room into a dance floor, but not just any old dance floor. It was going to be a dance floor ala Studio 56 in New York. It was going to be pumping.

I already had another outfit that I was going to change into, something that I brought with me in case I ended up staying the night. I hadn't planned on wearing it at the party, but I figured who cared. It was a slinky black dress that was short and form-fitting in all the right places. I knew it emphasized my boobs and showed off my waist. I knew every single man at the party, aside from my dad, was going to be ogling me, and I didn't care. I wanted Sam to see that I could have anyone that I wanted and just because I chose to be with him didn't mean that I would always choose to be with him. He wasn't the only older man out there that I could fuck.

I took a bite of the king prawn and smiled to myself. This food really was delicious and had been worth every penny that Sam had paid. I felt a little bit guilty because I knew the catering cost had come to over $2,000, but Sam could afford it. I felt like he owed me for all of the emotional trauma he put me through. I didn't want to actually think about how I'd kind of contributed to that myself.
