Morgan

My new bride was late.

I checked my watch for the third time, making sure that I was right about her lateness.

And I was.

I sighed as I flipped through the binder on top of my desk again. Her name was Kimmie, and she’d contacted me at almost midnight last night to ask about a catering consultation in the morning. Typically, I didn’t like to work with clients who seemed a little too eager to meet me, taking it as a red flag that they’d somehow burned a bridge with their previous caterer.

But Kimmie had seemed nice enough. More importantly, she was willing to pay double my usual deposit for handling a last-minute wedding. I’d been in the catering business long enough to know getting paid double my rate was the kind of rarity that I just couldn’t pass up.

“Morgan?” A woman’s voice came from my doorway. “Morgan Dell?”

I looked up from the binder with a faux smile. “Kimmie?”

“That’s me.” Kimmie grinned.

“You sound just like you did on the phone.” I returned her grin, even though it only went skin deep. It wasn’t anything personal, but I wasn’t the kind of guy who let his actual feelings seep into his job. Of course, that meant that a huge portion of my time spent meeting with clients involved putting on the fakest smile imaginable, although no one seemed to notice.

“My future husband is here, too,” Kimmie said as she motioned toward someone I couldn’t see. “Dirk! Get in here!”

A man popped his head into my doorway. “Hiya! Morgan Dell, right?”

“Right.” I nodded.

“Pleasure to meet you. We’ve heard so much about you,” Dirk continued. “Congrats on winning Caterer of The Year last year. Oh, and your Instagram feed? Amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen soup look that good before.”

“Thanks. I spend a lot of time messing around with the camera, just trying to get a good shot.”

“We’re just waiting on Harrison,” Dirk replied. “Is it okay if we keep you just a little longer?”

“Of course. It’s your appointment.” I smiled again, mentally adding a few extra minutes to their invoice for the consultation.

“Have you ever catered a vegetarian wedding before?” Kimmie asked from the doorway. “That was the problem with our last caterer. We thought he’d be okay making a few vegetarian dishes, but when we brought it up, he acted like it was the end of the world.”

“Well, you can’t be too upset with him. For chefs, their food is like their signature,” I explained. “And for him, he probably saw it as you asking him to write with his left hand instead of his right.”

“But you’re okay with vegetarian dishes?”

“Definitely. I make a pretty mean lettuce tofu wrap, if you’re interested in that.”

“Ooh. Sounds delicious.” Kimmie’s eyes lit up. “And how do you feel about meatless steak?”

“No. Kimmie, no,” Dirk chimed in. “I told you. If my uncle bites into a meatless steak, he’s going to make a huge scene.”

“Then tell him not to make a scene, Dirk,” Kimmie instructed, folding her arms over her chest. “Where’s Harrison, anyway? He said he would be here by now.”

“Well, you know your brother…” Dirk’s words trailed off. “He does whatever he wants to do.”

“Actually, since you two are the bride and groom, I think we’re able to get started with the meeting,” I said as I looked between Kimmie and Dirk. “Unless Harrison is funding the wedding or something?”

Kimmie and Dirk laughed at that, finally pushing away from the doorway and taking their seats in front of my office desk.

“Sorry! I’m sorry! Sorry for being late!” A man turned the corner into my office, looking a little frazzled and out of breath, almost like he’d just run a marathon.

He was also the most beautiful man I’d ever seen in my life.

This had to be Harrison.

I couldn’t take my eyes off the man. His eyes seemed like they were looking right through me, threatening to know everything I kept hidden deep inside. And there was something magnetic about his smile, the way it played on his lips even as he apologized for being late. It made me think that Harrison was used to being the most charming person in the room, used to being forgiven for each and every mistake.

And at that moment, I knew that I’d be just another victim of Harrison’s charms. If he’d come into my office on some other day, apologizing for being late, asking me for forgiveness, I would’ve asked him to apologize with a kiss. And then another. And then another. And somewhere in the middle of his apology, I would’ve checked the door to make sure that it was closed before I dropped down to my knees.

It wouldn’t take long for me to find his cock with my mouth, happy to let him apologize this way, knowing that it always started with me getting him hard, and it always ended with him bending me over my desk, Harrison thrusting into me from behind.

“Did you already start the meeting?” Harrison asked, interrupting my fantasy.

“Not really,” I answered, motioning towards an empty chair. “Please. Have a seat.”

“Did you already talk about the meatless steak, though?” Harrison sank down into his chair and spread his legs, taking up more space than he could’ve ever needed. “Because you know Dirk’s uncle would lose his mind.”

I stared over at the way Harrison was sitting as I briefly wondered if he sat like that because he enjoyed taking up that much space, or if sitting that way was more comfortable with the size of his—

“I don’t understand. It’s my wedding. Why is everyone so concerned with Dirk’s uncle?” Kimmie scoffed. “He doesn’t even have to come!”

“He has to come, Kimmie,” Dirk replied.

“Yeah, Kimmie, isn’t he the rich uncle?” Harrison asked. “He’s the one getting you guys the vacation for your honeymoon, isn’t he?”

“Dammit. You’re right,” Kimmie relented. “Fine. No meatless steak.”

“Having a weeklong vacation in Hawaii is going to taste a lot better than meatless steak, anyway,” Harrison joked, winking.

And my heart started to race at the sight.

What the hell was going on with me?

I was in a professional consultation and I couldn’t keep my mind off the bride’s brother?

That wasn’t anything like me. I’d had hot guys pass through my office before, but I’d never been so distracted. I tried to regain my focus, promising myself that I wouldn’t look at Harrison out of the corner of my eye as I turned back toward Kimmie and Dirk.

“So, what are the details?” I asked. “How many people will be attending your wedding?”

“Just around a hundred,” Kimmie answered. “We originally capped the invites at fifty, but we just had more and more relatives wanting to come, and I felt bad telling people no.”

“Understandable.” I smiled. “And where are you getting married?”

“The Lighthouse Building. The one on Main Street?”

I slowly blinked, unable to hide my surprise.
