IN WALKED SIN (The Touch Series #5)(9)
Author: Stoni Alexander

He’d learned her real name. What else has he found out about me?

“Dance with me, wife.” Maverick slung his arm around Carly and they took off for the dance floor.

“See how easy that was?” He tugged her close and her breath hitched. “Come.”

A tiny moan escaped her lips. He was never one to play fair. He knew her body in the most intimate of ways and he had used all those ways to bring her the pleasure she craved. Together, they walked onto the dance floor and he wrapped her in his long, strong arms.

As they swayed to the sensual beat, she wanted to pull him flush against her, tighten her hold, and breathe in his delicious scent. Though he towered over most at six four, in stilettos she topped six feet herself, which made staring into his eyes extremely easy. She had missed his touch more than she would ever admit. Steeling her spine, she fought against the dizzying desire.

“You fucked me over,” she murmured, “and I am so pissed at you.”

“You saw something you shouldn’t have seen.”

“You did something you shouldn’t have done. Not to mention how you’ve done a number on me, professionally.”

“Had I known we were tracking the same guy, I would have invited you to join us.”

“I work alone.”

His lips twitched at the corners and she glanced at his mouth. “That doesn’t sound very fun. You enjoyed partnering with me in the past.”

“You love toying with me, but I’m not joking.”

Dakota danced over with Sammy balanced on his shoes. The little one grinned up at them.

Evangeline smiled at her. “You look like you’re having a great time.”

“I’m up waaaay past my bedtime.”

“Me, too,” Evangeline said.

“I can help with that,” Sin murmured.

Fighting against the smile was futile and she flashed him a brief one. Sinclair Develin never ever played fair. Damn this beautiful, frustrating man.

The song ended and the bandleader announced it was time for the bride and groom to cut their cake. Most everyone made their way over to the table.

Dakota lifted his daughter. “Good meeting you, Evangeline. Thanks again for letting Sammy sit with you.”

“It was my pleasure. Bye, Sammy.”

She waved as her dad whisked her toward the cake-cutting ceremony.

It was then that she realized she and Sin were still holding each other. More like clinging for dear life. She peered into his eyes, begging herself to get her emotions under control. “There are a lot of women who would be thrilled to play with you, but I’m no longer one of them.”

And with that, she pushed out of his arms and walked away. Not because she wanted to, but because, this time, it was absolutely necessary.

Uninhibited

Sin admired Evangeline’s curvy backside as she disappeared into the sea of guests. He could chase after her and ask her to stay. He could also invite her to join them on Maverick’s yacht for a romantic cruise down the river. But he wasn’t the type of man who played his hand. Years ago, he learned to keep his cards close to his chest.

He’d let her go and do his research, first. Knowledge was power.

The throng of women who’d been following him around all evening made their move.

“Hi, do you remember me?” asked an attractive redhead.

“Evening, ladies.” Sin acknowledged the women with a smile. “Everyone having a good time?”

The ringleader stepped closer. “I’m ready to get outa here. Can I grab a ride from you?”

His phone buzzed with an incoming text, but he ignored it. “You should stay,” he said. “The party’s just getting started, but I can call a car service if you need to leave.”

A tight knot pinched her brow, then she sidled up to him and held up her phone. “How ‘bout a selfie. I need a post where I can get thousands of likes. Things have been kinda flat for me.”

He stepped out of the picture before she could pose. “Social media’s not my thing.” His phone buzzed with a special ringtone and he lifted it from his pocket and answered. “Hold on.”

“I’m available,” said the blonde next to her.

“I’m sorry to decline such beautiful women, but I’ve got to say no.”

The redhead leaned close. “I give great head.”

Turning away from the women, he put the phone to his ear. “What’s going on?”

“I’ve got a guy here who doesn’t understand the word no.” The GM of his club sighed. “Big D called him a ride, but he refuses to leave. I’m two secs from calling the cops.”

“I’m on my way.” Sin hung up and regarded the women. “If you ladies would like free passes to Uninhibited, my driver is taking me there now.”

The two who’d spoken up jumped at the chance. The other four hugged them goodbye and retreated into the crowd.

He called his driver as he made his way out of the ballroom. “Pull up out front.”

“Yes, sir.”

Next, he texted Maverick. “Work emergency. Rain check on cruise.” Offering an escort to both women, he powered through the crowd and into the hallway, a gal on each arm.

Staring up at him like he was some kind of god, they moistened their lips with their tongues and ran long fingernails through their hair. He ushered them out front and into the waiting sedan.

“Uninhibited,” he said to his driver.

“Yes, sir.”

On the short drive into Georgetown, the women made it crystal clear they were more than ready to take care of his needs. Together or one at a time. Sinclair loved the ladies, but not the ones who threw themselves at him. Sure, they were fun, but that was the beginning and the end of it.

“Word on the street is that you love blowjobs,” said the redhead. “May I?” She went for his zipper.

“No.” He removed her hand. Had Evan not crashed into his life, he might have accepted her offer. Until he had more information on Evan, he didn’t want anyone else’s mouth around his cock.

The town car pulled up to his club and Big D opened the door.

Sinclair eyed the women. “Show Big D your IDs and enjoy your evening.”

“Wait, you’re leaving us?”

“I’ve got to take care of something.” And with that, he exited the car.

“Hey, boss,” said Big D. “He’s at the bar and he’s not budging. You want me to get someone to cover for me?”

“I’ll send Jessica out if I need you.” When Sin tried opening the heavy metal fire door, it wouldn’t budge. “What the hell is going on?”

“It started sticking tonight.” Big D pulled up on the knob before yanking it open. “I’ll get it fixed ASAP.”

“After tonight, we’re closed until New Year’s Eve,” Sin said. “Please get it fixed before then.”

“Will do,” Big D replied.

Uninhibited was packed wall-to-wall with members. He caught the eye of Jessica, his GM, along with his head bartender who pointed to the troublemaker, sitting at the bar. Making his way over, Sin tossed a nod at the couple next to the rowdy patron. “I hate to displace you folks, but I’ve got to handle this guy.”
