I wake up the next morning and Marley is nowhere to be seen. I should have talked to her when I had the chance instead of falling asleep on her. I thought for sure fucking her would get her out of my system, but I want more of her already. Sex with Marley was better than any sex I’ve ever had. I wasn’t lying when I told her I could eat her out all day. Going down on a chick is something I haven’t even done in years. I wouldn’t dare go down on a cut bunny. Who knows what or who has been in those cunts.

I climb out of bed and head to the bathroom to shower. Washing away her scent isn’t something I want to do, but I also don’t want anyone grilling me about smelling like sex. I’ll shower then go find her so we can talk.

I turn the water on and brush my teeth to let the shower warm up. As soon as I’m done, I climb in.

“Ah! Fuck!” My back stings like hell. I smile, remembering Marley clawing the fuck out of me while I pounded into her. I’m out of the shower within ten minutes. I dry off and get dressed then head out to the main room for a cup of coffee. When I walk into the main room, the prospects are cleaning up and a couple brothers are lounging around, hungover as fuck by the facial expressions.

“Hey, brother.” Saint smacks my back. I grimace without making a sound, but he notices it. “What’s wrong with you? Where did you disappear to last night?”

“Nothing and I was tired of partying so I went to bed,” I tell him. What really happened is none of his fucking business.

“Yeah, alright.” He shakes his head but drops it. I head into the kitchen, fill a cup with coffee then make my way to Marley’s room.

“Rascal, Church,” Bull says before I get too far. “Grab anyone out of the main room.”

I groan inwardly. “Yes, sir.” I turn around toward the main room. “Yo, dipshits! Time for Church. Prospects, round up anyone who’s outside.”

Reaper, Bear, Saint, and I walk into Church. Bull is sitting at the head of the table with the other officers sitting in their designated spots. I take my seat and wait for the rest of the brothers to show up. I lean back in my chair, resting my head against the back and close my eyes. Marley’s face is all I see, even when I attempt to force my mind somewhere else.

A few minutes go by and the room fills up. The Nomads are in here but our out of town brothers get to sit this one out. They’ll be leaving in a day or two anyway.

Bull hits the gavel, gaining everyone's attention. “The Torres Cartel has been sighted around town. We’re not sure why they’re back, but we need to take extra precautions. Keep the women on lockdown, especially Marley, and don’t go anywhere alone.”

“Why especially Marley,” I ask.

“I can’t give you the story why, because it’s not my story to tell. They’re who are after her and can’t know she’s here,” he explains.

I nod in response.

“The Orlov Bratva is on standby in case we need their help. Keep your women safe and watch each other’s backs. Does anyone have any questions or anything to add,” Bull asks.

There’s a round of nos and heads shaking. With another slam of his gavel, Bull dismisses everyone from Church. I go straight to Marley’s room, ignoring anyone who tries to talk to me on the way.

I pound on the door. “Mar, open up. I need to talk to you.”

She opens the door with a tear stained face.

“Shit, Princess. Why is it every time I come to your room, you’re crying?”

“I was crying from how awful the sex was last night,” she deadpans.

“That’s a damn lie and the multiple orgasms proves it.”

She fights back a smile. “What do you want?”

“Aren’t you gonna invite me in?”

She rolls her eyes, opening the door further.

“I’d love to come in, thanks.” I grin.

She closes the door behind her. “There’s nothing for us to talk about.”

“The hell there’s not and I’m not leaving until you talk to me.”

“Why? You got what you wanted. You can leave me alone now,” she states.

“That’s part of what I wanted to talk to you about.” I sit next to her on her bed. “That was all I wanted, but something’s changed. Marley, I haven’t been able to get you out of my head and that was before we had the best sex ever.”

“Yeah? Is that why you had Trix dancing on you last night?” There’s a bitterness to her tone.

“I won’t lie, I’ve tried to get you out of my head. My dick hasn’t gotten hard for anyone but you since you moved into the clubhouse. The more I’m around you, the more I wanna know everything about you. Even when you’re throwing your sass at me. I wanna know what makes you laugh.” I tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and cup her face in my hand. “What makes you cry and everything in between.”

Her eyes flutter closed as she sighs. “The anniversary of my mother’s death is tomorrow and I almost forgot it. That’s why I was crying.”

“Fuck, Princess. I’m sorry.” I wrap my arm around her, pulling her into me.

She shrugs a shoulder. “It was two years ago, but I never got a chance to truly mourn her.”

“Why not?”

She moves out from under my arm, standing from the bed. “That’s, uh, something I’ve never told anyone but Blaze.”

“Does it have to do with the Cartel?”

She whips her head around, locking eyes with mine. “How . . .?”

“The only thing Bull told me was that the Cartel can’t find out you’re here.”

Her face softens. “The day after my mom passed away, I was kidnapped. The guy had some weird clown tattoo and kept me at some weird compound where a bunch of other guys came and went. Last September, I managed to escape. I ran and ran, until I got to Blaze’s. Now, I’m here.”

“Did you tell Blaze about the guy’s tattoo?”

“No,” she says, shaking her head. “Why does that matter?”

“The Torres Cartel, that’s their symbol.”

“Shit,” she mutters.

“What’s wrong?”

“My panic attack. That’s what caused it. I saw someone in the mall with the same tattoo.” She clenches her chest as her breathing changes. “Wh-what if they already kn-know I’m here?”

I jump from the bed, moving to her side quickly. I grab her hands. “Hey, hey. You gotta breathe, Princess. Look at me, look into my eyes.”

She lifts her eyes to mine. I move one of her hands to my chest, holding it there. With my other hand, I cup the side of her neck, caressing her cheek with my thumb.

“Take a deep breath,” I tell her, taking one with her. “Now let it out.”

We keep taking deep breaths together until she calms down.

“You know, I don’t even know your real name.” Her voice is soft.

“It’s Cameron. Cameron McCoy.”

“You don’t look like a Cameron.” I smirk at Rascal. “But I like it.”
