Love is Contagious : A Charity Anthology(169)
Author: J. Saman

I remember my fortieth pretty well. My then-boyfriend, Holden, threw a huge party for me with all my friends, my peeps from the parlor, and even my family. He flew my parents and siblings to Los Angeles. It was awesome. I push away the wave of comfort emerging while thinking about Holden and focus on Dex. When he texted that he was drinking alone, I went to meet him. I couldn’t let him be by himself on his birthday. It was too pathetic, even for a Dextyn.

“You’re the one who sent me the cake?” I smile into my phone. Dex is mad. Dex is always mad. It shall pass, or not.

“Did you get sucked by anybody else last night, little prince? Because when I left this morning, it had been just you and me, going at it all night long.”

“How could you have let this happen?”

“Oh, Dex, it was a birthday present you requested. You came on to me. I only gave you something you begged for.”

Dex scoffs. I’m sure he thinks His Highness would never fall so low as begging me to fuck him. But he did beg, and I did fuck him.

“I was fucking drunk. How could you take advantage of the situation?”

“Dextyn, don’t make me hang up!”

“How do you know my name?”

I ignore his indignation, because as I said, Dex is always mad. You wouldn’t think the guy got laid last night. Or maybe the problem is that I pushed the stick further up his ass.

“Once you remember everything and you come to terms with the fact that you’re the one who asked for it, call me back.” And I hang up. Nobody hangs up on Dex. I know he’s fuming right now, but that will teach him to forget one of the best nights of my life.

The buzzing of the needle helps silence the moans replaying in my head. For a couple of hours, I’ve been working on a black-and-white tiger on this girl. My clientele is mainly female, and I don’t mind. They’re safe from me, but I can’t save them from my staff. They all like pussies, even Morgan.

Speaking of the she-devil, I can feel her scrutinizing the back of my head. “What, Morgan?”

“Sorry, boss, but there’s a super uptight guy here demanding to talk to you.”

I can hear the smile in her voice. A grin spreads on my lips as I imagine Dex making demands in my shop. The little prince hasn’t yet understood who the king is, but he will soon.

“Well, tell him he can come back in two hours, once I’m done with Jenny. Or tell him three. He can wait.” Jenny smiles at me while I continue concentrating on her arm. “Unless you need a break, girl?”

“I’m good,” Jenny says.

I hear Morgan tapping her foot.

“What now?” I sigh.

“I already told him that, and he insists on talking to you.”

“Well, tell him I insist on finishing my job. Why don’t you ask him what he wants for a tattoo?”

Morgan scoffs. “This guy wants a tattoo as much as I want a dick in my mouth. Seriously, where did you find this one? He looks like a GQ model but is as uptight as a nun in a sex club.”

Jenny’s eyes perk up.

“Don’t dream, Jenny, he’s as gay as I am.”

“Not fair,” Jenny pouts.

“I know, sweetheart.” I stop the needle and turn to Morgan. “Tell him I’m not going to sterilize everything again because the little prince wants to talk to me, so he can wait or leave.” I raise my voice louder for Dex to hear me. “Did you hear me, Dextyn? Wait or leave!”

It takes me another hour to finish Jenny’s tattoo. She’s beaming from the adrenaline rush, and I’m impressed we didn’t have to take a break. It’s not her first tat, but even so, we did it in three hours instead of four, which make me free for the evening earlier than I thought.

When I leave my station, I’m surprised to find the waiting area empty. I didn’t think he would leave, but then again, patience is not one of his strong suits.

“Where did he go?” I ask Morgan.

She nods toward my office. “He said he had ‘important shit to do,’” she says with air quotes. “And he couldn’t work from a lobby.”

I smirk and roll my eyes. Dex can be such a precious princess. I head to my office with a coffee in each hand. Decaf for me. As black as his soul and as strong as his stubbornness for Dex. When I enter the room, he raises his index finger to me as if to tell me to wait to enter my own office while he continues his discussion on the phone. I drop the coffees on my desk and wait for the little prince to finish his call.

“Aiden, I’m not mad you got your dick sucked. I’m mad you got it sucked by my very incompetent assistant who I wanted to fire this week. So for me to forgive you, I propose to give you an assistant. You can take her off my hands, as you seem to enjoy her.” He pauses a moment. “Listen, I don’t care what your girlfriend will say. You did something stupid; you pay for it. It’s that, or I can fire you for breaking my HR rule.” He pauses again. “I know I’m an asshole, but at least I don’t get my dick sucked at work by my boss’s assistant.” As he hangs up, he points at the chair for me to sit in. “Luke! Please come in.”

“So nice of you to allow me in my office, little prince.” I walk toward him, take his hand, and pull him to his feet so I can sit in my chair. When our hands touch, my heart skips a beat, and I don’t miss the breath Dex takes. I can’t stop the smile from spreading on my face. “To what do I owe this pleasure, Dextyn?”

Dex removes his hand from mine and puts it in his pocket. I follow his movement with my eyes and see him adjusting his junk discreetly, which sends a clear message to mine.

“I want to discuss what happened last night,” he answers, walking around my desk while removing his grey jacket. As he sits in the chair opposite mine, he rolls up the sleeves of his white shirt and loosens his purple tie.

I close my eyes and try to calm my growing erection by breathing deeply. Leaning back, I put my feet on my desk and look at Dex. His black hair is perfectly styled, his blue eyes are analyzing me, his squared jaw is clenched, and my dick gets harder. “So speak.” I shrug.

“Listen, I’m sorry if I gave you the impression anything could happen between us. I mean, I remember almost everything now, and I know I asked for it. I want to apologize if I put you in a situation where you thought you couldn’t say no. Just let’s forget about it and move on, okay?”

“Little prince,” I shake my head. “Do you think you have a magic asshole? What makes you think I want more?”

“Well, you sent that cake…”

“Yeah, because I didn't want you to ignore me. Doesn’t mean I want to marry you. We had a great night. I don’t do one-night stands anymore, but you and I can’t be in a relationship. You don’t do those, and I don’t do jerks. I knew what last night meant. No need to discuss it.”

Dex sighs with what sounds like relief. “Fuck, you can’t believe how scared I was you wanted to marry me or some shit. You’re, like, the only person I know who doesn’t need me to take care of him, and I can’t take being around you if you’ll be all lovey-dovey and waiting to fuck me every time we speak. I mean, I’m not sure we’re friends but…” He shrugs.
