Book Boyfriend(10)
Author: Brooklyn Knight

As if sensing my wanton thoughts, his eyes zipped up and arrested me. A grin turned his lips, and he shoved the phone into the side of his backpack, before slinging it over his shoulder.

I planted my feet on the ground as he advanced, bracing myself for his enigmatic presence.

“I’m fighting the urge to call you sweetheart, because I still don’t know your name,” he muttered through a chuckle.

As soon as he reached my side, I started forward, but could barely contain the tingle erupting over me from his proximity. We walked together and all eyes were on us.

I ignored the stares. “We had a deal,” I reminded him. “You said you’d wait until we met after class for me to tell you.”

“So, you’re taking me up on my offer? We’re going somewhere to talk?”

“I’m here, aren’t I?”

“Indeed, you are.”

I kept walking, but the hell if my legs didn’t feel like pins. “Let’s make another deal,” I suggested, trying to regain some semblance of control. “You give me a good reason why I should tell you my name, and you can have it.”

His neck jerked back, but his eyes twinkled with mirth. “That’s easy. I’m an RA.”

“Not of my residence,” I retorted, “so you being a Residence Advisor is irrelevant.”

He grinned. “I’m a TA.”

“Of what subject?”

“Advanced Economics,” he answered quickly, and I laughed.

“Sorry, Ev. I’m an English major. You being a Teacher’s Assistant in business does me no good either.”

He raked his hands through his hair. “You’re tough,” he commented.

“Very,” I confirmed. “So, unless you’ve got any other acronyms or prestigious titles you wanna’ drop on me, I’m gonna; have to remain nameless.”

Evan cursed, drawing more giggles out of me, but when he slid his arm around my waist, I almost tripped over my feet. “I’ve got another title that may interest you,” he said with a coy shrug. He slowed his pace, forcing me to do the same. When we were at a complete standstill, his grip went from my waist to my hand. He moistened his lips, forcing my focus to their fullness and how soft they looked. “I’m an RA and a TA, but I’m also an FA.”

“What… the hell is an FA?” I muttered, lips barely moving. I was still staring at his mouth. I jerked my eye up. “I’ve never heard of it.”

“FA stands for Female Assistant,” he revealed in a sultry whisper. “I can… assist you with more than dormitory issues or economic theory, if you want.”

“That’s really corny,” I said laughing so hard, tears were forming in the corners of my eyes.

Evan’s robust laughter married with mine. “I know, but I couldn’t think of anything else. You aren’t making this easy for me.”

We hollered some more before settling right back into barely disguised lust.

I ran my finger over the spine of my textbook. “FA, huh?” I hmphed. “So… if I don’t need help with dormitory or business matters, what other services can you provide?”

“The list is endless,” he whispered squeezing my hand. “But if you wanna’ know that, you’re gonna’ have to tell me your name… sweetheart.”

We stared at one another and I could feel something happening. He was drawing me in. Whatever magic he was working with, whatever charm, it was taking me under because now, all I could think about was what it would be like to be between his sheets.

“My name is Natasha,” I said in a whisper. “Natasha Hill.”

The muscles in Evan’s face relaxed and he leaned closer until I could feel the sweep of his minty-fresh breath. “Natasha…” He said my name, as if he were trying it out on his tongue.

My pussy jumped at the thought.

“Okay Natasha. It’s my extreme pleasure to meet you.”

“Likewise.”

His eyes trailed over me. “Let’s talk.”

I nodded in agreement and we headed to the cafeteria, where we shared lunch and meaningful discussion until my next class.

Chapter Five

Simone

I had no idea who the fine-ass specimen of a man posted at the edge of my bed like a chiseled guardian angel was. He had to be the arch angel, Michael. From my time spent in church during my childhood, I’d learned that Michael was God’s go-to enforcer and I’d always imagined him to be fine as hell. Sacrilegious, I know, but it sure kept my attention during those long-ass sermons; and the more I looked at this guy, with his pale green eyes and blond goatee, the more evidence I found to support my theory.

Damn, I couldn’t even remember what had happened. In fact, the only thing I could recall was hitting the ground and waking up to a stranger peering at me like I was the last woman on earth with child-bearing hips. Everything had been veiled in a dense fog. At first, all I heard was his voice; but when the haze cleared and he came into view, I almost fell back into subconsciousness.

Evan?

Of course, it wasn’t Evan. His name was Jaxson, but I’d been secretly studying him whenever he wasn’t looking, which wasn’t often. For some reason, he was always looking at me, and the look on his face was enough to scorch through the hospital gown, right to my thong.

Why was he looking at me like that? I looked a hot mess. My hair was everywhere and by now, my make-up had to be streaked clear across my face. I barely resembled the sexy romance author who’d been signing books a few hours ago.

Maybe he was looking at me because he knew all of my business, I considered, trying to think logically. God only knew what I’d said to him before we arrived here. Maybe I’d told him something crazy, like how the last time I’d climaxed had been courtesy of a battery-operated device. The expression on his face wasn’t one of derision, though. It was one of familiarity, like he knew me intimately; like I was supposed to know him. I searched my brain trying to conjure memories that weren’t there.

Three hours had passed since the almost-accident and Jaxson hadn’t left my side. In fact, he was insistent on staying, which I didn’t mind at all. The truth was, I would have ordered him out, had Dinah not been so comfortable with him, but they’d laughed and talked, almost if they’d known each other before now. Her ease with his presence settled me and so I’d gladly given in.

It was more than Dinah’s comfort-level, though. Jaxson’s magnetic aura had definitely factored in my decision to let him stay. It was gentle and soothing.

It was also sexy as hell…

I tried to resist the urge, but my eyes soaked him in anyway. The Trifecta of Perfection – that was him; and Dinah had been right: his lyrics were so smooth, there was no doubt in my mind his tongue was made of silk.

When the hour expired, the doctor was coming back in to give me a final check and the clearance to go home. I tried to lift myself off the bed, but I was as stiff as a board. The minute I so much as whimpered, Jaxson jumped to his feet and rushed to my aid.

“I can do it,” I said smiling, but I was lying. I could barely move; I was so damn stiff. Besides, I wanted him to do it. When he’d touched me earlier, electricity lit me up like a Christmas tree. I was tempted to see if it would happen again.
