Claiming Her(7)
Author: Tory Baker

“Hmm,” I reply, my thoughts not my own.

“The pill, Trouble. What are you taking it for?” He never stops his ministrations on the shell of my ear.

“It’s kind of hard to concentrate while you’re doing that.” My breaths are choppy and uneven.

“That means it can wait, or you can tell me what pill it is you need to take.” The concern in his voice has me moving away. I don’t want him to think something’s wrong with me.

“Slade, I’m okay. I need to take my birth control. If I don’t take it every morning, I’ll forget, and then when that time of the month comes, shit hits the fan. Cramps are off the chart, I’m doubled over in pain, have a migraine for days, and I’m a raging lunatic.” I’m so at ease with Slade I don’t even realize I went that in depth over my stupid birth control.

My back hits the bed, Slade comes down on me, spreading my legs with his hips as he settles between them. I can feel every solid inch of him. Our bodies are pressed together, the way his length is sliding along my center with every push of his hips. Moisture slicks the inside of my panties more so than it did last night when all I had were two fingers to help me orgasm.

“Are we doing this?” I moan out, rocking my hips along to his.

“Didn’t you know, Trouble? This was always going to happen. The only thing standing in our way is your brother. I’m stating this here and now. We are happening. The shit that’s coming at you sideways, it’s not the only reason you’re in my home. I knew when I saw you all those years ago that you’d eventually be mine. I hate like hell it took this for us to finally be together, even with your brother making all kinds of threats to my dick.” He enunciates that last part with his hips.

My hands come up and over my mouth, holding in the excited scream yearning to come out. He can still hear me mumbling under my breath.

“I see that makes you happy, so why don’t you uncover your mouth so I can kiss you good morning?” I slowly lower my hands, the smile on my face appearing before him.

“I’m so incredibly happy, but umm… aren’t you worried about morning breath?”

“Nope,” he tells me, then his lips land on mine. Our first kiss is what they talk about in fairytale books. We’re slow at first, taking small tastes of each other, until we move in for more. Sparks fly behind my closed eyelids as Slade takes over. His dominate trait comes out as he chases my tongue every step of the way, so much that I allow him to take me completely under his spell.

“I guess not.” My voice is in awe when we break apart.

“It never will be. You go take your pill, which we’ll be discussing more later on. I’ll start on breakfast, so come on down when you’re ready.” He rolls over to the side of me before getting out of bed. Once he’s standing, I can see his whole body. The way his muscles flex as he stands, my eyes travel the length of him, stopping at each and every peak and valley. His chest is a work of art, all the way down to his abs. By the looks of his arms alone, I have no doubt they will hold and protect me. Slade may not be completely naked, but his shorts leave little to the imagination in the package department.

The clearing of his throat causes me to look at his face again. “Ignore it,” he demands. As freaking if. I flop back down onto the pillows, trying to regroup myself. “I’ll get up in a minute.” I roll over, burying my head under the pillows. It’s going to take me a bit to get my raging hormones under control.

The thwack to my ass has me rolling back over. “What the hell was that for?”

“Trouble, you’re nothing but trouble, but the best kind there is. You stick that ass out, Taylor, I’m going to spank it every single time.” He’s biting on his lower lip, and I can see the desire in his eyes.

“Well, if that’s the case, I’ll do it again.” I go to roll back over, he stops me, but doing something completely out of the ordinary. He grasps my hips, picks me up, and slings me over his shoulder in a fireman’s hold. Slade walks us out the bedroom I’m staying in and takes me right to his, bypassing the bed and walking into the shower before sliding me down his body. My breath hitches when I rub against his hard on. It makes me want to purr, that’s how good it feels.

“Take a shower in here. I’ll move your things, then we’ll cook breakfast together.”

“Thanks, I guess?” I reply as he takes a step back.

“You need to cool off, and so do I. Don’t get me wrong, I love the look you have in your eyes right now, the way you feel when I’m between your legs. But first, I want us on the same page before I take what you’re offering.” Slade kisses me on the lips then leaves me standing in the middle of the bathroom, stunned speechless. I mumble to myself before turning around and doing like he said, getting in the shower, because let’s face it, Slade Chavez is not wrong. I need to cool myself down with a cold ass shower.

I hated like hell leaving Taylor in the bathroom, but I knew it was the right thing to do. If not, both of us would be naked, our bodies glistening from the shower, and I’d be on my knees, licking the wetness I felt seeping through her lace panties.

After I moved her belongings into my room, I changed into a pair of jeans and one of my old Navy shirts, then hustled down to the kitchen. There’s no way I was going to be in my bedroom when she came out of the shower with only a towel wrapped around her body. I start the coffee pot before getting the skillet ready for eggs and bacon. Taylor has a sweet tooth, something she divulged last night while we were eating dinner, so I’ll be making a run to the grocery store later on to get her favorite things.

“Maybe she’ll go with me on an evening run,” I murmur out loud while flipping the bacon.

“The answer to that would be no. I only run Monday through Friday. The weekends are meant for rest, which means no work and no cleaning, just two days of rest. I’ll run with you Monday, though.” She’s in a pair of jean shorts that are showing off her lean tan legs and white cotton shirt.

“It will have to be in the evening when we both get off or early morning.”

Her face lights up. “Evening time will be better. I haven’t run outdoors in a long time, so you’ll have to give me some leeway if I’m slow.”

“I can do that. I’m sure you know your time at the gym isn’t happening for a while. You can use the one at Nighthawk or the one in the basement here.” I want her to know she now has some kind of rules to keep her safe, not that she’d have these in place if it were under normal circumstance. But until this weird ass psycho is handled, I won’t let her out of my sight.

“You have a gym here? I probably won’t use the one at Nighthawk. Bridger would probably annoy me the entire time or tell me what I’m doing wrong.” She rolls her eyes. Taylor isn’t wrong; working out with Bridger can be quite the experience.

“That’s fine with me.” Plus, if Taylor worked out there, I’d never get any work done. My eyes would be solely focused on her and making sure none of the other boneheads would be drooling over her.

“Have you heard anything from Drake and the lab yet?” She drops the question that I don’t really want to answer. Her hands are wringing her fingers, as if she’s nervous. Fuck, I hate like hell that I’m about to answer her the only way I can.
