Throuple In Paradise(20)
Author: Faleena Hopkins

She tilts her head and he plants a kiss on those soft lips I just had as my own.

But they’re not just mine anymore. How do I feel about that? Oddly, pretty damn good. Truth is, the woman is a handful. I could use the help. Jack won’t take any of her shit. Me, I’m too nice a guy, and she might have me wrapped around her pinky.

Might.

She’ll keep us busy, that’s for sure.

I climb into my car and drive home, head bouncing to the beat as I decide that yeah, I’m an Aquarius, the dreamer. He’ll ground us three in ways that feel right.

Jack has given me the opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m not just thinking about my app idea. By asking me to move in with Marion, he opened my life up to something I never thought I wanted.

Sounds corny, but who cares?

He made me fall in love.

Now that I have, he’s not stripping it from me. He could. She’d probably choose him if she had to choose one. But this way he gets to keep a little bit of that freedom he craves, the independence that his years have made him used to.

Somehow I’m a lucky bastard, and even though we’re in love with the same complicated woman, it’ll be fun. If it was any other guy besides Jack, I would never be down with this.

But I like him.

No, better than that…

I respect him.

And I have a feeling he won’t be intimidated by the size of my naked cock.

Chapter Seventeen

Mar

Bobby walks past Jack’s super soft leather couch where I’m reading a thriller novel, with his head in his phone, typing away.

“Done working, Bobby?”

“He’s all yours!” Pausing, he looks up. “Haven’t seen him in this good a mood, ever.” Giving me a wink, Bobby takes off. “Bye Marion!”

“Bye!” My smile falls back to my book and I pull up the furry throw blanket to get cozier.

It’s been a calm few days alone with Jack. He’s a man of so few words, I’m looking forward to seeing Troy again. It’s been nice, comfortable and a relief to not be tossed out just because he wants to see me naked.

But the truth is, put the two of them together and you’ve got the perfect man.

Troy I can talk to about anything. He’s easy-going, attentive, funny.

Jack’s a beast who makes me feel safe just by being around. He’s good for my loner-side because he prefers to eat in silence. Share a bit of a story, then let’s get to the food, which he scarfs with all the evidence of a man who’s lived alone all his adult life. But it’s comfortable silences and I’m not the chatty type most days anyway.

I think Troy got me talking more than I ever have. I’m more like Jack than I am, Troy. I’ve heard him take work calls and read the riot act to people who fucked up.

I would do the same.

Were I to go into business.

Which I do not want to do.

Yet.

A noise makes me look up toward the door that leads back to his office, bedroom, and stairs to his personal gym. I finally got to see all of his cavernous home.

The other doors in this main room lead to his garage, his library, and a game room complete with everything a man-cave could desire. Off of that is a guest room, only one, which I’m told is where Troy briefly stayed. Usually nobody is allowed to sleep over, that’s how much Jack likes his privacy.

And how much he loves me to have changed the policy.

The car collection was shocking, like something out of Batman. Thirty cars in a subterranean garage guarded by camera and idiot-proof alarm system. Idiots being the burglars who would try to burgle Jack.

Burgle.

I love that word.

As for the game room, I’m sure men would adore it. For me, it was the library that made me moan. Floor-to-ceiling books on steel shelves, some encased in glass. It’s not a warm space, but it sure is generous in inventory. I grabbed a stack and came out here to get comfy.

“You done working?” I ask as he appears in the doorway, face down in his phone.

He finishes typing, handsome head rising to answer my question. The cuts are healing, but they’re still sharp red lines. I kind of like them, makes him look even more rugged and dangerous. “All done. Just needed to text Bobby one final request.”

“Want to share what it is? Or can’t you tell me?”

He chuckles and starts unbuttoning his shirt. One button exposes his raised pec muscles and instantly my pussy goes soft. Tossing the phone onto a steel and wood accent table, Jack walks up. “I told him not to come back today. He got the hint.” The shirt gets tugged out of his jeans, last button flipped open before he locks eyes with me and tosses the expensive material to the floor.

Setting down my book, I slowly ask as he goes for his belt, “Umm, are you doing what I think you’re doing?” My eyes are drinking in his amazing tribal tattoos that line his right ribcage, his gorgeous pectoral, and his taut shoulder all the way down to his forearm.

“If you’re asking if I’m going to fuck you, then yes.” He pivots for the kitchen, casually strolling with a swagger that says he owns the world. And me. Because his ass in those jeans! Sigh.

But we’re supposed to be waiting! Just spending time together! It’s been torture not stripping my clothes off and demanding we call Troy over every night. It was hard enough living with a hot guy and doing nothing about it. Jack is a whole different story since I’ve had a crush on him since I was a teenager. Now that I’m a woman and have had lovers before, I’m very aware that he will outshine them.

And they weren’t bad.

Still, anticipation is sweet, isn’t it?

Jack walks through the door that leads to his game room. I’m staring at the emptiness he left behind.

Sitting up, I begin to get irate.

Is he going to play a video game right now? Oh no, he will not! I open my mouth to yell at him, and clamp it shut as he walks back in with a huge bouquet of pink roses that make me gasp!

He locks eyes with me. “You seem to like pink, so…here.”

“Oh Jack!” I cry out, covering my mouth with my hands as I gasp one more time and kick the blanket off so I can run to them. “They’re so beautiful!”

“You like ‘em?”

He places the crinkly, brown paper in my arms so I can gaze at their beauty and breathe the heady fragrance in. “This is the sweetest thing, Jack, thank you!”

Proudly, he says, “I picked them up myself. I didn’t have Bobby get these.”

“Is that where you went this morning?”

“There was no meeting.”

Grinning, I stare at the soft petals. “Best lie I ever heard.”

He laughs and takes them so he can kiss me. Setting the flowers down on the kitchen counter, Jack gathers me into his arms, voice thicker. “Mar, I’ve really enjoyed these days with you.”

I slip my fingers up the back of his head, caressing it. “Me too. It’s been fun doing nothing over here rather than at home.”

Leaning closer, his blue eyes smolder as he stares at my lips. He kisses me, our mouths molding until our bodies begin to move. I want his cock so badly. But we have to wait. I can’t get carried away.

Every time we’ve kissed, he’s been the one to stop it. If he doesn’t soon, I might not want him to.
