“Do you let the wolf fuck you too?” Caydem asked, his anger red-hot at the forefront of his mind.

River didn’t react to Caydem’s question, and he wasn’t surprised. The human did everything differently.

“Does the answer matter?” River asked.

Caydem had to remind himself although River stood in front of him without fear, he was still human and could easily be killed. Caydem kept his strength in check but tightened his hold on River, before pulling back to stare into River’s blue eyes. His full lips called for Caydem to kiss them. To break the facade that River had any control, shatter the calm persona to a million pieces. Caydem held back by sheer will.

River looked at him with boredom, but Caydem didn’t miss how River’s heart fluttered when his eyes caught sight of Caydem’s fangs. The human could pretend with the best of them, but his desire could not be masked.

Caydem ran his tongue over his fangs, drawing River’s attention to them. Lately, he’d stopped injecting River with the venom that all vampires had. It was to help their prey relax and be more willing. Caydem hadn’t told River that, but still whenever Caydem bit down into River’s flesh, the human would react as if it was the most pleasurable thing he’d ever had in his life.

“You don’t want to tell me?” Caydem asked.

River sighed as if he was annoyed with the whole situation.

“I don’t see why it matters.”

Caydem couldn’t give him a reason besides that River was his and his alone.

“I should chain you to the bed and never let you leave again. That way the wolf will never touch you again,” Caydem said.

River went stock-still. His heart rate slowed down, and his blue eyes seemed to dull to the point if Caydem didn’t have preternatural hearing, he would have thought River was dead. River stared at him in the eyes.

“I will never be caged again,” River said with an amount of conviction that surprised Caydem.

But more than that, he wanted to know what River meant by his words. Caydem didn’t ask, knowing River wouldn’t answer any questions he had. The human could be so infuriating and alluring all at once. Caydem relaxed his hold and brushed his lips against River’s.

“I would rather you kill me now,” River said with a sense of calm that made no sense.

Caydem licked along River’s parted lips. Even now the human surprised him. He wasn’t ready to let go of River; he wanted to play with the human for much longer.

“I won’t kill you,” Caydem said. “At least not yet.”

River didn’t relax, and Caydem much preferred the bored, disinterested look than what he was getting at the moment. He let his fangs nick River’s lip. Caydem sucked on his bottom lip, catching the little droplets of blood.

“I will not cage you either,” Caydem finally said.

As if he’d flipped a switch, River’s body relaxed in his hold and his mouth opened up wider. Caydem took advantage and coaxed River into a kiss. River was better than he’d been the first time they kissed. Caydem knew from the taste of River’s blood he’d been a virgin the first time, and Caydem had been too greedy not to take it the next time they’d been together.

“Does he kiss you like this?” Caydem found himself asking.

River moaned as Caydem bit down on his tongue, not at all surprised River didn’t answer him. He lifted River with ease and in seconds tossed River onto his bed. River never glanced around the room or admired all the expensive things around him. He had yet to use the black card Caydem had gifted to him. River was in his bed giving him food, and yet the human hadn’t used Caydem for his connections or money although he could.

Caydem stripped from his clothes, his eyes never leaving River.

“Strip out of those clothes, or I will tear them off of you,” Caydem said.

River didn’t move in a hurry. He slowly unbuttoned his pants and slipped them off along with his underwear and shoes. He folded the items and placed them on the floor. He was fully naked except the bandages on his arms and the ones covering the claw marks on his chest and hip.

“What happened to your arms?” Caydem asked, unable to keep his curiosity at bay.

River touched them before unwrapping them. Angry red scratch marks went up his arms. Caydem moved without thought. He was on the bed holding River’s arm up for inspection. The first set of scratches he’d seen, Caydem was annoyed, and still was, but he’d ignored it and fucked River. But it was getting harder and harder to ignore things about River. He knew River had to be in pain, yet nothing showed on his face as he sat there stark naked on Caydem’s bed.

“Does the wolf not realize you don’t heal as fast as us?” Caydem asked.

River shrugged.

Caydem reopened the wounds with his fangs. Blood gushed out, coating his tongue and lower half of his face. He swallowed the delicious crimson-colored liquid, unable to let it all go to waste. He licked the wounds closed and did the same to River’s other arm. Gone were any of the wounds. River inspected his arms for a brief second.

“Are you done eating?”

“Would you be disappointed if I said yes?” Caydem asked.

River’s facial expression went from thoughtful to bored. Caydem would take it because the moment he’d voiced the possibility, River’s heart rate had subtly changed. Caydem had to pick up on little cues when dealing with River, and he knew from experience that certain tells meant River was either annoyed or disappointed.

Caydem pushed River back against the blood-soaked confronter and followed. He blanketed River’s body, and his warmth seeped into Caydem’s cold one. A warmth he would never have again. Caydem kissed River, letting himself drown in the pleasure that awoke in him whenever he played with River. The desire to hear River moan and lose himself in the throes of passion never ceased to be an enjoyment for Caydem.

“It’s okay to want something from me,” Caydem whispered.

Some deep part of him that should have died with his humanity wanted to care for River, to give the strange human something no one else could. River’s hands caressed against Caydem’s side. Caydem went stock-still—River never touched him unless it was to hold on while Caydem fucked the ever-living daylights out of him. River’s breath fanned over his face, and Caydem wanted nothing more than to steal it away. He shifted until their cocks lined up and ground their dicks together. The pleasure rolled through him, and Caydem echoed River’s moan.

Those delicate hands continued to rub against him, driving Caydem insane. He placed openmouthed kisses down River’s body, listening to the rush of blood right under the surface of River’s skin. Caydem licked along River’s cut abs, enjoying the way River let little spasms escape his ever-impressive control. Caydem scraped his fangs wherever he licked, never breaking skin but continuously reminding River of what he was, of the danger he was always in.

River’s cock was hard and long and absolutely appetizing. Caydem swallowed him to the back of his throat. Caydem didn’t need to breathe to live, so he held River in the back of his throat, swallowing around the thick length. River’s hands went to his head, never pushing against Caydem’s head. It was as if the human understood this was something Caydem was gifting him. Caydem smiled around the length in his mouth. He cupped River’s ass and pushed his hips up, making his cock go deeper down Caydem’s throat.
