The Deceptive Twin(23)
Author: L.R. Jackson

She climbs on the bed and positions herself on her knees. I wasn’t lying about what I said to her. I’m so hard it hurts. I unzip my pants and step out of them. Once I slide my boxer briefs down and step out of those, I join her on the bed. I place my hand at her upper shoulder, pushing her down slightly. “Arch your back for me.”

She struggles at first. I don’t know why. She’s been in this position thousands of times. Maybe she’s trying not to mess up her hair and makeup. I smirk when she’s in the position I want her in. “You know what this position does to me. I want you to take all of me, okay?”

“Yes,” she answers softly.

There’s no time for foreplay right now. She ruined that the minute she stepped out of the bathroom in that dress. Right now, I just need to bury myself inside of her. My left hand caresses her lower back while my right hand finds her entrance. She’s already wet, making it that much harder to contain myself. “You’re already wet for me.”

I waste no time easing into her. She tightens around me as I go deeper. I lean down and kiss her back. Then I move my fingers to her front, working her clit. She moans. She becomes wetter. Slippery. Allowing me to bury myself deep. My strokes start off slow, but she arches her back deeper, inviting me to pick up the pace. “Jasen, I…”

I know she’s close. I can feel it. And it’s only been a minute or so. But who’s counting? When the chemistry is as hot as what we have, there’s no time limit on pleasure. I squeeze her ass as I move in and out of her. I’m growing harder and harder by the second. “Fuck, you feel good.”

She cries out as she tightens around me. “That’s right, baby.”

My body shudders as my own orgasm rocks me to my core. Her knees give out, and she falls flat, involuntarily pushing me out of her. I collapse beside her and trail my finger over her collarbone. “That was—”

“I know,” I finish for her.

I remove a piece of hair that sticks to her face. The strand was once straight, but now it’s frizzy from her sweat. “Sorry. I ruined your hair.”

She smiles. “It’s nothing that can’t be fixed. Are we going to miss our reservation?”

“Do you care if we do?”

She exhales deeply. “No.”

“Good. Because we’re not leaving this bed.”

We didn’t make our reservation last night. But neither of us cared. We spent the night doing exactly what we needed to do—rediscovering our passion. We fell asleep in each other’s arms until I snuck out early this morning for a run. My run went so well, I lost track of time. Monroe didn’t seem to like the smoothie I bought for her last time, so I decide to pick her up a pastry instead. I feel on top of the world. I finally feel like my marriage is back on track, and it feels so fucking good. I never stopped loving her. Even during the tough times. But lately, seeing how much effort she’s putting into our marriage, and me, makes me love her even more. The bell sounds as I enter the pastry shop. I’m not big on sweets, but the smell is so divine, I consider buying a pastry for myself as well. I lean down and peer inside the glass case, looking for something light and topped with fruit.

“Jasen?”

I stand tall and come face-to-face with Cooper’s wife, Simone. “Hey, Simone.”

“Picking up dessert?”

“Just finished my run and decided to pick up something for Monroe. She loves these things.”

“How nice.” Her tone suddenly shifts, indicating she didn’t really mean what she said.

“How are you two doing anyway?”

“We’ve never been better.”

There’s a moment of silence. “Are you sure about that?”

I narrow my eyes. “Why do you ask?”

She shakes her head and smiles. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to overstep. It’s just, well… I just wanted to make sure you two were doing okay. I haven’t seen you guys in a while.”

“Yeah, it has been a long time. How about you? Are you feeling better?”

“What?”

“Cooper said you weren’t feeling well.”

“Did he now?”

“Yeah. He said he hated to leave without you.”

“So he says.”

“Excuse me?”

This conversation has turned awkward, and I don’t know why. What I do know is that I’m getting the hell away from Simone and whatever it is that has her riled up this morning. “Well, I’d better be going. Monroe will wonder where I am.”

I walk away when she calls after me. “You didn’t buy your pastry.”

I wave her off. “It’s okay. I don’t need it.”

Monroe is awake when I arrive home. “Hey.”

She hops off her stool and wraps her arms around my neck. She kisses me gently. She’s wearing one of my white T-shirts, and her hair is messy. She’s looking sexy as hell this morning. So sexy, I want to lift her up and fuck her against the kitchen wall. But I don’t. I’m sweating from my run, and the conversation with Simone has me unsettled. She unwraps her arms from around me and has a seat back at the counter. “I chopped some fresh fruit. And I had Otis bring in some fresh granola for you.”

I walk over to the counter and grab the glass of orange juice she’s poured for me. I drink the entire thing. I place the glass down and turn to face her. “I ran into Simone this morning.”

She stops chewing. “She was acting really weird,” I continue.

She chews the rest of her food. “Weird how?”

“She asked how we were doing. When I said we were doing well, she asked me was I sure.”

“That is weird.”

“Have you spoken to her? Did you tell her about our marital problems?”

“No. Not at all.”

“Hmmm.”

“What about Cooper? Have you told him about the problems we were having?”

I completely forgot about the conversation I had with Cooper. That’s how she knows. That bastard broke bro-code 101. “I may have mentioned it to him.”

She shrugs. “Well, there you go.”

I grab a bowl of fruit and join her. “Yeah, it all makes sense now.”

My phone rings. It’s Cooper. “Monroe and I just spoke you up.”

He’s quiet for a second before he chuckles. “Is that so?”

“Yeah, I just ran into your wife at the pastry shop. She seemed very concerned about how Monroe and I were doing.”

He laughs it off. “Simone is just nosey. Don’t let it get to you. Listen, do you remember that Josephs account I landed before I went out of town?”

“Yeah, the casino owner in Vegas.”

“He’s requesting I come meet him.”

“For what?”

“He’s into some heavy shit with the mob, and he’s paranoid as shit. He doesn’t trust me. He wants to speak in person. No phone. No email. Nothing.”

“Cooper, I’m already up to my elbows juggling everything alone.”

“I know. But this is important, Jasen. It’s a huge account.”

“How huge?”
