Visible Panther Line (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 27)(29)
Author: Milly Taiden

“God, Damien. You feel so good inside me. Fuck me harder.”

He pressed her into the mattress with his body. Then he proceeded to thrust deep. Hard. Raw. He was so fast she was left breathless.

“Tell me you’re mine,” he growled, licking her shoulder. “Say the words.”

She whimpered. “Yes, I am.”

“Yes, what?”

She twined her legs at his back, pressing her heels to his ass. “I’m yours, Damien. All yours.”

He grazed his teeth on the curve of her neck, nipping down to her collarbone. She tilted her hips, giving better access. The move allowed him a deeper penetration. One that sent a shudder racing down her back. The tips of his fingers gripped her hips, and she felt his claws digging into her flesh.

He slipped a hand between their bodies, rubbing her clit with a few rough strokes. That’s all it took. She went flying. A loud scream fell from her lips. Tension unraveled fast to be replaced with dizzying amounts of pleasure. She tilted her hips, pressing her pussy closer to him.

He bit down on her shoulder, holding her still and embedding his canines deep. Her pussy quivered, sucking his dick tightly. He roared into her flesh, his cock pulsing and filling her with his seed. They continued that way for long minutes. His teeth deep in her shoulder. His cock deep in her channel. Her body floating in a sea of bliss.

She met his gaze when he lifted his head from her shoulder, his eyes bright with hunger. “I love you so fucking much it’s scary.”

He grinned and kissed her. “You’ll never have to worry about me abusing your love for me. There are no words to explain how much I love you.”

Chapter Twenty-Three

With his mate and Lennon, in his lawyer capacity, in his office, Damien closed the folder that had the paperwork gathered from the previous crooked Mayor.

“I can’t believe no one knew what was in here,” Damien said.

Lennon shook his head. “Damn, no wonder Salazar wanted that file. There’s enough shit in there to put him away for the rest of his life.”

Helena buzzed in from the front desk. “Damien, the Sheriff is here.”

“Thanks, Helena. Tell him to come on back.”

“Yes, sir.” The phone speaker clicked off.

Sky’s brow rose. “You asked Patrick to come over?”

He nodded. “Yeah, we need him to start the legal investigation into the town’s finances.”

“We need a town official,” Lennon clarified.

That made sense. Normal civilians having their noses in government business would put up a red flag where the Feds were concerned.

“But Jomen is dead,” Sky pointed out. “What good would any of this do now?”

Lennon sat forward in his chair in front of Damien’s desk and cleared his throat. “There is a little known governmental grant for helping towns damaged by government officials.”

“Grant?” Sky questioned. “What kind of grant?” The office door opened and the Sheriff walked in.

“Welcome, Patrick,” Damien called out and gestured to a chair brought over from the conference table. “Have a seat.”

“Thanks. Sorry to interrupt. Go on.”

“I was explaining the governmental assistance for official corruption.”

“You think we have a case?” Patrick asked with hope in his voice.

Sky lifted her hand. “My question first. Sorry, Sheriff. No offense.”

The lawman laughed. “No problem. I’ve been briefed already on that.”

“It’s a grant,” Lennon continued, “which means it doesn’t have to be paid back as long as certain conditions are met.”

“Of course,” Sky rolled her eyes. “There’s always a catch.” Damien shushed her and pulled her onto his lap, right on top of his hard-on that seemed to be around every time she was.

Lennon tapped his finger on the arm of his chair. “Do you want me to continue?” Sky nodded. “Thank you. Whenever a public entity suffers damage due to governmental officials, this grant will help those businesses and individuals affected to get back on their feet financially, you could say.”

“Spoken like a true lawyer,” Damien teased.

“What did you find in file?” Patrick asked, apparently eager to know the results of their informal investigation.

Damien sighed. “It seems that Salazar paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for on-going city contracts that were jacked up with huge profit margins.”

The Sheriff whistled. “That’d be fifteen to twenty years in the clink, if my knowledge of white-collar crimes is correct.”

“You are right,” Lennon verified.

“So what about the grant?” Patrick asked again.

“With what the Feds already have on Jomen, I think we have a really good shot,” Damien said, moving his hips ever so slightly so his ridged cock rubbed under his mate’s luscious ass. Sky’s hand, slipped to the side and slapped his leg. Completely unnoticed by the guys, he was sure. Yeah, they couldn’t smell the sweet arousal floating in the air either.

“What else had the dead Mayor done?” Sky asked.

Lennon lifted a finger. “For one, he defrauded his own people with a mortgage scam for $150 million.” He lifted another finger. “Grafting of millions, which is when a political office holder uses public funds for personal purposes. That’s how he could afford such a nice house. Left the town totally bankrupt.”

Sky held up a hand again. “Okay, I got it. That’s enough. Just so I know, I shouldn’t be overly sorry that he no longer graces us with his presence.”

“No,” all three of them said at once.

She laughed. “So how did the town make it through with no money?”

Patrick beamed. “That’s where Damien comes in.”

Oh, no. Not this again. Damien hated when he was touted as being the hero in this tragic story.

Lennon smiled. “Damien hates when we say this, but he single-handedly saved the town by giving grants and small business loans to those who needed help paying bills. He funded the schools and charities until they were able to get back on their feet.”

“And,” Patrick added, “put in city officials he knew would be honest and fair.”

Sky nodded and looked over her shoulder at him. “So a lot of the news reports on you are true then.”

He shrugged. “In a way, I guess they are. But I’ve had my last interview under those pretenses. From here on out, I’m a good guy.”

She burst out a laugh. “So the townsfolk won’t tell anyone that you’re a flying vampire cat that splashes old ladies standing by puddles in the street?”

He looked at his friends, with their brows drawn, looking as clueless as he was.

“I think I missed something somewhere.”

Epilogue

Damien waited for Sky to come down from her bath. He’d put candles around the fireplace, set up a picnic on the carpet, and had a romantic movie on pause waiting for her. The sound of the doorbell made him rush to check who was interrupting his special date with his mate.

He opened the door to find his mother standing there.
