Adore You (Love on the Clock)(23)
Author: Nichole Rose

Heat flares in his eyes, turning them dark and wild.

"Fuck," he growls, ripping the panties out of his pocket and handing them back to me.

I don't waste any time putting them on. They're still damp from my juices and his mouth, but it's better than nothing. I barely have them on and my dress in place before we roll to a stop in front of the mansion.

"You've got ten minutes to say hi to your parents," Jason says.

"Fifteen."

"Ten."

"Okay, ten." I smile, giddy with triumph. I really didn't think I stood a chance of getting my panties back from him. The doors open and my mom and dad step out, arm in arm. They're both smiling, happy to see us. Like me, my parents both have dark hair and eyes. My dad towers over my mom, who looks dainty next to him. He still calls her his little fairy princess.

I wave at them and turn to check on Jason.

"I love you, pretty baby," he says, staring at me intently.

"I love you too," I whisper, melting at the look in his eyes. It's so fierce, so bright. If he's nervous, there isn't a hint of it showing on his face. All I see is love.

He gives me my favorite smile and then pops the door of the truck. "Wait for me to come around," he says, just like he always does. He says he's worried I'll fall, but I think he mostly enjoys picking me up. He does it at every available opportunity.

My parents watch from the top of the steps as he circles around the truck and opens my door to help me down. He pulls me close to his body, sliding me down the front of it. I feel his erection against my stomach, and then I'm on my feet.

He tucks a piece of hair behind my ear, kisses me on the forehead, and then shifts me over so he can open the storage compartment in the floorboard to grab the bottle of my mom's favorite wine. I told him that we didn't need to bring anything, but he insisted, saying his mama would kick his ass if he showed up empty handed.

I can't wait to meet her and Jenna. It's pretty obvious that they're all close. I love that his family is as important to him as mine is to me.

We walk hand in hand up to greet my parents.

"Hi, mom," I say, squeezing Jason's hand in silent reassurance. "Hi, daddy."

"Hi, baby girl," my mom says, smiling bright. She's always smiling, always happy. My dad spoils her rotten, which I think is adorable. They've been together for twenty-five years, but they're both still so in love with each other.

"Hi, angel baby." My dad looks between me and Jason, his expression unreadable. He doesn't look upset though. Just…reserved. That's always been his way. He's quiet and a little nerdy. I've never met anyone smarter than him.

"I'd like you both to meet Jason Kirby," I murmur, looking up at him and smiling. "The man I'm madly in love with."

Jason meets my gaze, his lips quirking into a tiny smile. He takes a step toward my parents, holding the bottle of wine out toward my mom. "It's nice to meet you, ma'am, sir. Minnie mentioned this was your favorite wine, so I picked up a bottle for you."

"Minnie?" My dad cocks a brow, looking between us again while my mom takes possession of the wine, thanking Jason.

Jason holds a hand out to my dad, shaking his firmly.

"He calls me that sometimes," I say, blushing. "Um, because I was wearing mouse ears the first time we met."

"Nah, pretty baby. I call you that because you were wearin' those big, old red heels. Hearing you fuss about them reminded me of Minnie Mouse walkin' right out of hers all the time," he says, dipping his head to grin at me. "You looked beautiful in them, even if you did hate them."

"They were too tall," I complain. "My feet still hurt."

My mom and dad both laugh.

"You looked fine as hell, baby girl," Joey says, stepping outside. He crosses his arms and leans against the doorjamb, looking Jason up and down. "Damn. You're even hotter in the light of day."

"Joey," my mom says.

"What? It's true." Joey smirks at Jason. "Are you taking good care of our girl?"

"The best," Jason says, solemn. "You must be Joey. I've heard a lot about you."

"Only half of it's true," he says, pushing away from the door to shake Jason's hand. "Specifically the good parts. She made up the rest."

"Did not." I stick my tongue out at him.

He laughs and pulls me in for a hug. "Girl, you're glowing," he whispers in my ear. "Good for you."

"Thanks," I whisper back, squeezing him tight. "Sex is incredible."

We both giggle and then break apart. I think my mom hears because she laughs too. My dad and Jason are oblivious though. They're talking about Jason's truck or maybe about my dad's. I'm not really sure. But when I step away from Joey to wriggle my way under Jason's arm, they both look at me and smile.

My heart overflows with happiness, all of those little worries vanishing as my favorite two men on the planet go back to their conversation, talking about cars like they're old friends.

"You ever get her dirty?" my dad asks.

At first, I think they're talking about me, but then I realize they're both looking at his truck.

"As often as I can get away with it," Jason admits with a quiet laugh.

My dad's eyes light up. "There are some damn good trails not far from here," he says, pulling my mom back into his arms. "I still go out on the four-wheeler every once in a while. We'll have to make plans to get out there soon."

"I'd love to," Jason, says, grinning.

My mom meets my gaze, her lips curving into a knowing smile.

I just shake my head at her, not really surprised that they're already getting along. Like I told Jason, my dad isn't snobbish or stuck up. He's just a man who works hard and loves his family. He and Jason are a lot alike in that regard.

"Lunch should be ready by now. Come on," my dad says, pressing a kiss to my mom's temple before taking the wine from her and leading her inside. Joey follows behind them, teasing my dad about something.

Jason and I hang back for a moment. He wraps me up in his arms, dipping his head to kiss me. I want him to deepen it, but he licks into my mouth for a brief moment and then backs off, being respectful, I guess.

"You good, Minnie?" he asks, cuddling me up against his chest with his chin resting on top of my head.

"I'm so good," I whisper, squeezing him tight. I'm better than that. I think…well, I think I'm living in my own fairytale. Only, in this fairytale, Prince Charming rides a mechanical bull and says dirty things to me. And somehow, that makes him even more perfect.

"Good," he whispers back, "because you've got two minutes before I steal those panties back, pretty baby."

"Jason!" I laugh, burying my face in his chest.

"I'm serious, cowgirl."

I tip my head back to look at him, see the need burning in his eyes. He's definitely serious. I swallow hard, my pulse going wild with excitement and desire. I grab his hand and pull him into the house, practically running for the nearest bathroom.

"Be there soon!" I shout toward the kitchen, dragging a laughing Jason down the hall. "Jason needs to use the restroom."
