Dark Angel Academy (The Complete Series)(53)
Author: G. Bailey

“The light above,” Ren whispers in my ear as the light becomes the shape of a man, and I feel its anger from here.

“You have disappointed me, Kaitlyn Lightson.” That’s all it says before it literally explodes. The light blasts me back through the glass, flying across Ren’s apartment through a wall, pain blacking out my senses. I scream as glass and rock cut and smack into my skin, and I desperately try to catch anything near me to stop my fall. As my wings get caught on a rock, they tug me to a halt in excruciating pain, and I hang over the ruins of the academy. Pulling on my wing, I tug as I scream through the pain, and eventually it gives way, letting me fall into the air. My wing hurts as I try to stay afloat, and the academy is blasted to pieces right in front of my eyes.

And everyone I love is inside.

The academy has fallen.

Swiftly, seven angels on dark horses surround me, pointing spears my way. The one in the middle looks familiar as his gold eyes lock onto me.

“Kaitlyn Lightson, you are charged and found guilty of betraying your own people. The light above has called you to the city of light for your punishment.”

Epilogue

Henry

Holding the grey wolf in my arms, the heavy fucker, I spiral down to the ground, knowing there is no way I’m going to miss the treeline before we land. The wolf is too heavy, and my wings are struggling to hold us up after I jumped off the academy with the wolf. I know Kaitlyn would never forgive me if I left him behind. I have to pray Ren has Kaitlyn safe, as they were at dinner together when the orb was destroyed. Ren would never let anything happen to her. The wolf growls, slipping out of my hands as we crash into the trees, and branches cut into my skin and wings before I slam onto the forest floor. I groan, rolling over onto my back and looking up at the sky, which looks as innocent and empty as ever.

Even as the academy falls into a million pieces and I don’t have a fucking clue where my mate is.

“Can you feel her?” a very naked Myles demands, grabbing my top and pulling me up to his face. Covered in cuts and blood dripping from his cheek, he looks feral, and I don’t get why Kaitlyn likes this idiot so much. “Is Kaitlyn still alive?”

“Yes.” I shove his hand away, and relief fills his eyes. “By the way, dickhead, that’s not how you say thank you for saving your ass.”

“Thanks, I owe you,” he bites out, and I pull off my coat, chucking it at him. I do not want to look at his junk for any longer than I have to. Closing my eyes, I search for Kaitlyn, but something is blocking her from me…and that only means one thing.

She is in the angel city. I search for Thallon next, finding the same issue, and then Ren. Instantly, I sense Ren somewhere on earth, and I grab Myles’s shoulder, using my magic to jump into the shadows and drop us where Ren is. Myles shifts into his wolf, like an instinct, inside the shadows, and when we come out onto a beach, I see Ren on the sand, not awake. I rush to him, pushing him on his back as he coughs out water.

“Kaitlyn,” he says, but it’s weak. His eyes widen as Myles’s wolf sits next to me, looking down at Ren.

“We will rescue her, but first we need to save our people. Hold on to me.” Using my magic, I make us all leave the beach and go to our people.

One way or another, I will save our mate.

Kaitlyn, we are coming for you. Hold on.

Description of Immoral

My name is Kaitlyn Lightson, and my home is with the vampires.

After the destruction of The Angel Academy, I’m found a traitor to my own race, and I wish it were just me who is found guilty.

Vesnia and many others are trapped with me, and I’m not sure how I can save them.

With the vampires on the run, or dead, I know I need to get out of the city as quickly as I can to find Ren before he starts a war he cannot end.

With old friends, and new, to help me, I will survive the Angel City and get to my mates.

There isn’t another choice.

When Tales, Demons, Wolves, Vampires and Angels go to war…who will win?

Prologue

Erendriel Raloxisys

Chaos was never bred with humans. It came from the heavens above, wrapped in angel wings and beauty so alluring no one could refuse it. It came from the goddesses, who came to our world in the name of peace and instead caused endless pain, stirring the fragile peace that the world had to begin with. Staring at the dark skies above me, I wonder what our world could have been like without their influence on it. Would I have had a normal childhood, would any of my descendants still be alive?

Would I ever have met Kaitlyn, who pulled my soul from the dark pits I’d wallowed in and showed me how to breathe once again?

As the skies fill with angels, I drop my sword onto the ground and smile as they call my name, shout for me to stay still in case I tried to fight them all. I would, if it meant I could see her one more time…but I know it wouldn’t work.

I’m smarter than that. I’ve made a plan.

We have one chance to save Kaitlyn, and if it means risking myself, then so be it. As dozens of angels land in a circle around me, holding their weapons up even though I have no reason to fight them, a familiar angel lands in front of me. His white wings are spread out at his sides, and I didn’t expect him to be with them. His presence makes me itch to pick up the sword and end his life, fuck the plan. I close my eyes and remember Kaitlyn, and my need for revenge drifts away to the back of my mind.

“Why are you here, lad?” Gabriel asks, his eyes full of confusion and slight interest. The angel who I once trusted, the angel who slew me like nothing more than a dog, almost looks guilty as he stares at me.

The wonders will never stop.

My answer will always be the same. “To save her.”

Chapter 51

Time is a funny thing when you only have a ghost with a missing head as company. I stare at my new friend, mister ghost head as I’ve named him, as he floats around the room I’m locked in. His clothes are modern, so he couldn’t have died too long ago, and instead of a light or darkness for him to go in, he just floats around in blue light. I don’t have a clue what that light is, and honestly, I’m not sure I want to. According to the lines I’ve drawn on the walls, it’s been a month since The Angel Academy fell and the angels used magic to knock me out after capturing me. I woke up in here sometime later, and other than mister ghost head, I don’t see anyone but a hand, which pushes a tray of food, bottled water and bottled blood probably from a goat, through a slot at the bottom of the door. I almost wish the ghost had a head so I could talk to him. Talking to myself is getting really old.

My surroundings include grey stone walls, a cabin bed that squeaks every time I move on it, and a desk with a metal chair. I have my own bathroom, which is no more than a white-tiled room with a sink, a toilet and a tiny shower, but it does the job. The clothes here aren’t too bad, though I only have three outfits, which I wash in the sink and dry over the shower. They’re all the same: three grey hoodies that are too big, black T-shirts and leggings to match. Apparently, shoes are not something they wanted to give me.
