Shit. Opening the condom wrapper while he was eating her out and she was teetering on one leg wasn’t going to be an easy task.

“I missed your taste so badly,” he said, and then moved to suck her clit.

Oh God. Too good. She started bucking against him. She was never going to get that damn condom open. He probably noticed because, chuckling, he stood up and took over. Which was the right call. The way her whole body was shivering; she was about to drop the latex on the floor. Once he was sheathed, he lifted her in his arms and backed her against the wall.

They didn’t say anything; they just looked at each other while he buried himself inside her in one continuous long stroke. Her inner muscles flexed, trying to accommodate his huge presence. She tightened her grip on his shoulders, gasping against his mouth. He smelled like her, and she loved it. Loved him.

“Sorry,” he grunted. He began gaining speed, nailing her against the wall, but she just urged him on. The whole frigging elevator could go down and she wouldn’t mind.

“I’m coming,” she said between moans. “Fuck me. Hard. Please.”

His cock swell inside her even more, stretching her further as he obliged her. She could feel the orgasm building up deep inside her, fast spiraling out of control.

“Hello, this is Wilma,” came suddenly from the intercom. “How’s it going?”

Adrian froze mid-stroke.

“There’s no yelling,” Rebecca mused. “They should still be alive, shouldn’t they?”

Rachel was shaking now. She needed him so much. She couldn’t hold on anymore. She grabbed his ass and forced him balls-deep inside her, which sent her over, her body convulsing at the intense pleasure. As she shouted her release, his hand covered her mouth.

When she came back, she noticed his teeth were clenched. He was sweating and shaking from riding her orgasm, she guessed.

“We’re here,” he answered in a strangled voice.

“Finally. You sound weird,” Wilma said.

“Lost my voice… yelling for help.”

Good save.

“Someone came?” Wilma inquired, sounding worried.

“Someone did,” he grumbled.

Stifling her giggles, Rachel tried moving, but he stopped her and threw her a forbidding glance. He was teetering on the brink, by the looks of it. The only thing she had to do was squeeze his cock or rub against him, and he would lose it.

“The maintenance guy is here,” Rebecca informed them. “Rachel, are you alive?”

“A bit shaken,” she answered truthfully.

Adrian looked like he was in pain. He had to come too. She wrapped her legs tighter around him and clasped his cock with her inner muscles, squeezing as hard as she could. “Let go,” she whispered as she covered his mouth with both hands. “I got you. Come for me.”

She saw in his eyes the second he surrendered. He grabbed her ass and thrust inside her hard—once, twice, three times—and, with a low groan, came.

While he was in the throes of his orgasm, the lights suddenly turned on and the elevator cab moved. Panicking, Rachel reached for the control panel and pressed the stop button with one hand while the other still covered Adrian’s mouth. Talk about postcoital acrobatics.

“Give us two minutes,” Rachel aided into the intercom. “The sheriff and I still need to hammer out a couple of issues.”

Like getting dressed, disposing of the condom, dispersing the smell of sex, regaining their breaths, and exiting the elevator like two mature adults who hadn’t been screwing their brains out a moment ago.

The happy-hour cell was looking more and more probable by the second.

Chapter Fifteen

Adrian leaned on his car and waited for Rachel. He glanced at his watch. He’d thought there was going to be more traffic in Boston in the evening, but he’d made it to the Church of Saint Raphael in record time. After a while, people started coming out of the basement door. Josh was one of the first to appear. The asshole spotted Adrian right away and approached him with a sly smirk on his face and two helmets in his hands. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m here to pick up your sponsee. From now on, I’ll be the one driving her around. You don’t have to,” Adrian replied, tipping his head to the helmets.

Josh chuckled and gave him a pat on the back. “Thank God you came back to your fucking senses. About time, man. I gather all your misunderstandings about Rachel and me are cleared up now and I’m off your hit list?”

Hilarious, the ass. “As long as you refrain from giving her neck massages and such, we’re good.”

“Just remember we talk on the phone often. Don’t go freaking out on her or she’ll dump you. She’s one of a kind, Sheriff. Many will be waiting to take your place.”

“Thanks for the warning, but that won’t happen.” Adrian had learned his lesson.

“Good.” With a salute, Josh walked to his bike and sped away, mere seconds before Rachel came out.

When she saw Adrian, she broke into a run, threw herself into his arms, and kissed him. “You came to pick me up from my meeting?”

“Of course I came.”

“I should tell Josh I’m leaving,” she said, looking around.

“No need. I already informed him that I’ll be your chauffeur from now on. He just left.”

Rachel laughed. “You shouldn’t be jealous. He’s just my buddy.”

“Well, your buddy is too damn handsome,” he said in a grunt, hugging her hard, breathing her in.

She spoke into his neck. “Really? I wouldn’t know. When you’re around, I can’t see anyone else.”

“Thank fucking God you’re blind as a bat,” he muttered, making her laugh again. “Ready to go?”

She nodded, and they got in the car. “How was your meeting?” he asked as he turned the engine on and they slipped into traffic.

“Fine. There are some new faces.” Then she went pensive. “Some old faces are missing. Not sure what’s happened to them. Nothing good, probably,” she mumbled, that last sentence almost inaudible.

“I’m sorry to hear that.”

“It’s never a good idea to lower one’s defenses.” She looked at him and smiled a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “That’s the reason why I got my diploma, you know? When you’ve been clean for many years, you tend to forget how horrible your life was when you were using. That’s a frigging slippery slope. A very unhealthy place to be. Being in contact with addicts who have just hit rock bottom helps me keep all that pain and misery fresh in my mind.”

“Ricky never got there,” he confessed. “He was never clean for a significant amount of time. I tried all I could think of. Tough love, soft love, no love. Nothing helped.” Whatever Adrian had or hadn’t done, it always left him conflicted and feeling like shit.

She covered his hand with hers. “It never depended on you. It was up to Ricky.”

Still. He wasn’t sure that he’d done enough. Maybe that was what angered him the most—the what-ifs. “You said the other day you had an intervention. Tell me about it.”

She smiled. “Can’t tell you specifics, but I was so nervous. I brought Josh along because he’s famous and I was hoping the kid would be starstruck and stay put. He didn’t. When he realized what was going on, he took off.”
